Tostones

It was great service, I'm Puerto Rican myself and it was amazing. The most authentic PR food in El Paso for sure

Chuleta Frita con arroz y gandules, tostones!
Marzza C.

I have really been missing my Mother's Puerto Rican cooking and decided to go check this place out as it was rated high. Omg! Tostones, arroz con gandules, chuleta frita! I was in heaven absolutely delicious! I also wanted a coconut dessert called tembleque but they had run out! Our server was great, the atmosphere was nice and the food was amazing! I literally was taken back to my childhood eating all this authentic Puerto Rican food! Thank you! Highly recommend! Enjoy

My heart is shattered. I'm Puertorrican born and raised. I've been living in the US where the Army takes me for the past 10 years, that being said, I don't often get the opportunity to eat food from home. There are not a lot of places in El Paso to eat Puertorrican food so I took my chances and ordered for me and my husband and the cost was $70. I cannot tell you how incredibly disappointed I was. The churrasco was so hard it was nearly inedible and the mofongo was just as tough. The shrimp was good but even with all that sauce, the mofongo was hard as a rock. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever give this place another chance, it was a robbery.

As authentic and close to Puerto Rico you will get going to this location. From the décor, wall art, and music make you feel super comfortable as if you back home. The service was great from start to finish. The alcapurria was definitely better than the empanadilla but they were both delicious. Love the uniqueness of their mofongos. It was well seasoned, juicy and definitely delicious! Their natural juices are oh so good. When coming to this location make sure you pay attention to the turn into the parking lot. I almost missed it. I definitely would be returning.

Chillo frito with tostones
Blanca H.

I sat around for a couple hours not knowing what to eat. Randomly came upon this place and noticed they served chillo frito. I tend to only eat chillo when visiting the island because I've been disappointed in other places, including the East Coast. But this chillo and tostones were ON POINT!! The spicy pique only made it better. The tostones were not dry and even when cold, still tasted super good!! 787 definitely gained a new loyal patron!

We came back because we liked it the first time. they were understaffed. We asked for 2 coconut mojitos she took 20 minutes to make them we waited 2 Minutes with no water and waited for her to take our orders. Then she comes back at me and asked me are you gonna order ? I was like I ordered a trifongo 39 minutes ago lol

wonderful, quick service with good quick authentic food ! the atmosphere was also great with live music and singing (both performers were great).

Empanadas of meat, chicken and octopus. Tostones and fried chicken with rice. Medalia light beer.

The food was delicious, reminded me of San Juan Puerto Rico. They had the beer they serve at Puerto Rico and service was great, even gave us a sample and took the tome to talk to us. The have live band on weekends. For sure going back! They also have liquor.

Absolutely divine!!! Im not exactly a Puerto Rican food conossieur, but i do have quite a pluthra of Borica friends!! So they knew exactly where to point out some good food for sure. I was trying to treat my friend to some delish food while she was visiting El paso and since she didnt have a car, i wanted to be able to place an order over the phone to save time. Well, with all the COVID19 pandemic closing up shops, i was doubtful when i tried calling a couple spots with no luck. This place though was ready for some business thank goodness!! Thank you 787!! We both had a hankering for MOFONGO!!! I mean, whats not to love about mashed plantains?? Especially with shrimp! We got a garlic flavor and cajun flavor which both came with a side of beans and rice. AMAZING!!! My Borica friend said this place was better than some and i see why! The mofongo was more smoother and less greasy than other spots. And the flavor options are almost unbeatable! Soo good! Im glad i was able to try this spot finally! I definitely cannot wait to get more from them!

Fried Pork Chops & Plantain

I ate for the first time here today. It was a very good experience for me. I understand that this joint used to be located on Zaragoza, but recently relocated to this current location off Airway. Ambiance was totally Latino--music and decor. There was very nicely air-brushed murals on the walls depicting some famous Puerto Rican athletes providing some bright-colored lively walls. My friend said this is truly a Puerto Rican joint, and if you come back on Friday night, there would be a dance floor with people dancing salsa, etc. Music was a little loud so that I had to pay particular attention to what we were talking about in our group--that's the only "complaint" I had to be honest. I really don't like talk over the noise. I personally prefer a little quieter place, but you know "when in Rome, do as Romans do!" Food I ordered was very flavorful. I tried some other's food like fried pork and fried beef, but bar none, my pork chop was the best flavored meat IMHO. You can get a different types of sides (carbs) like fried plantain, white rice and beans, yellow rice, etc. I tried fried plantain, and it was good with ketchup/mayo sauce. It was a little crunchy like potato chips. I was not expecting that since plantain I had before was sort of mushy. Service was impeccable. From the time we walked in this restaurant till we left, I only received pleasantness and smiles. Our servers were efficient, prompt and courteous. I'd definitely come back here to try other food they offer. $12.50 was a little more than I usually pay for lunch, but it was very good food and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended!

Small little Mexi-PR fusion cafe on the far east...buzzing…read more I enjoyed a MexiMocha latte. It was a nice little out of the way place that a lot of folks know about. So, it got crowded in the dining room pretty quick. If it weren't so busy or if they cycled through the customers, it would be better. I also got the ham, cheese, and egg sandwich...it was pretty good. No extra ingr dients, just those in the name. Plenty of sandwich...we split two between four peeps. They had a bunch of table games to keep you entertained in case you wanted to hang out I would like to try their guava and other pastries, their Caribbean sandwiches (tripleta, and bistec). Pastries and desserts were looking pretty good. I'd come me back to try, but probably would take it to go. I will try this place out again.

Both were very good and the portions are huge my partner and I should've just shared. I was a little disappointed of their mango tamarindo drink. I thought that it was mango and tamarind(the fruit) mixed together not chamoy and chile(Tajín) in the drink. I wasn't happy and just ordered another and asked if I can have the mango and tamarind without chili and they said yes. The tamarind still has a spice to it which it shouldn't, tamarind is tart and sour. I guess that's where the misconception of Mexican and Puerto Rican terms collide. I would go back but I guess ask next time if the drinks are Puerto Rican terms or in Mexican terms.

When we first pulled up, there were only two cars in the parking lot, so we assumed it was pretty empty inside. It was. There were about 4 people in there. No one checked our ID, or greeted us. The interior was nice and modern looking. The bartender (possibly manager?) approached us and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We didn't, not right away. We just wanted to check it out. As my girl and I sat on the couch for about 5-10 minutes, the bartender came back and told us "You guys can't just sit there. If you're not going to get anything to drink, I'm going to have to ask you guys to leave." So, we left. Not to mention, my girlfriend was working on setting up the app they had, so she could play music requests. But, the bartender just approached us in a rude manner and was pretty straightforward that if you don't pay to buy something to drink, you're gonna get kicked out. So, just keep that in mind guys. We then went to La Mina Bar & Night Club - and they were so much more friendly; didn't force you to buy a drink, either!

But it just opened 3 months ago so we wanted to give it a try. We were chillin and then I'm guessing the guy that owns the club/bar or the manager was like "since you guys aren't buying drinks, I'm going to have to kick you out. You guys can't just sit here." I was baffled. We had just got there like literally for 5 minutes. I've never been kicked out of a bar before for not buying drinks. I just said "okay" and we walked out. I didn't know how to respond or react. We went to another club/bar called La Mina Bar and Night Club. Before we sat down I asked the bartender if he'd kick us out if we didn't order drinks and he said no. I've been to other clubs and even when i didn't buy drinks they never kicked me out. By the way highly recommend La Mina Bar and Night club. The music was amazing and everyone was nice. So keep in mind that in order for you to say at Latin Quarters New York, you have to purchase a beverage or they'll kick you out. Do not recommend Latin Quarters New York.

As a visitor of El Paso for a few days, I'm taking all the recommendations! I got the medium Jerk Chicken paired with rice & peas and steamed vegetables! Fully seasoned, hot and more than enough for one sitting. The jerk chicken was spicy but not overwhelming - all 3 dishes together made for the perfect lunch! Ambience was fair, nice music, empty afternoon but great decor and culture! Sadly, they were out of more than 1/2 of the sides and what I requested but the sides I did get were amazing! Next time, I hope to try the Rasta pasta salad and sweet potatoes. I'd definitely go back to try the Rum Punch and some good night vibes! Check this place out if you're in town!
