I have never had such bland Carribean food in my life. The shirimp okra and halibut stew is more a soup. A very bland soup that desperately needed at least some salt. Vegetables and very little of the promised seafood in a flavourless broth with no bite to it. The ceviche was not much better, soupy with very little flavour and no spice. I believe at one point in the past they used to have a fairly extensive rum menu but that seems to have been discontinued. This was the third time I've been to Palme since they've opened and it will most certainly be my last.

The vegetables were doused in garlic and melted butter/margarine, and better than I expected for something reminiscent of frozen vegetable mix that's steamed/sauteed. The fish was very well seasoned, perhaps by marination, with lots of parlsey and fresh lemon. The wheat bran gave a subtle flavour to the fish, which remained tender and juicy inside thanks to the coating. If you don't enjoy the texture of the bran, you can always brush it off. Good stuff! Looking forward to try more.

My husband ordered a Kilkenny and a burger with bacon and blue cheese. The order was taken quickly and the food came out quickly also. The burger was okay, warm enough and quite tasty but not the greatest. The wings were extremely overcooked and very dry, which isn't easy to do with wings. The sauce was fine. The fries with both dishes were very good. They were nice and hot and very tasty. The Kilkenny was good. The cider was pretty good too. We probably won't return to this restaurant.

The server seated us without warning, and when we went to order, each item we requested had run out. No Cuban, no chicken melt, no several other delicious sounding things. She gave us 10 more minutes to look over the menu and come up with a plan B. Truthfully I wanted to jump ship, but couldn't because our drink orders were already in, and I was captain of this gastronomic journey. We'd set sail without proper forecasting! We settled on the baked egg and salmon bowl, neither what we were exactly craving. The baked egg was fairly tasty, a shakshouka-esque experience accompanied by rustic bread for hasty dipping. The salmon bowl was excellent, with delicious dressing, but the salmon portion was oh-so-meager. It made me wonder if the lunch rush had given the kitchen such a beating that they had split my salmon filet in half and served it to me and my neighboring table friend. The lore says Michael Jordan worked his rear off every game because he always told himself there was probably at least one kid in the stands who came there to see THE Michael Jordan. We ordered the eggplant parm, which was alright, and the sea bass, which was the highlight. The sea bass was a nightly special and we opted for it to be served with risotto; it was excellent! The show was enjoyable and entertaining! A great collection of songs performed by the Taurey Butler Trio. Plus, he was entertaining on the mic (in both French and English). The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were pleasant, so I'd highly recommend this establishment!

I especially loved to see the performers getting younger students on the stage and community members; their excitement was infectious. It was the jazz club I'd only dreamt existed when I read about them in books. I grew up enjoying jazz, but this was my first chance to go to a "real jazz club". The food was great, and the waitress was very kind. My boyfriend raved about the fish and chips, and the brownie à la mode was a fantastic bite to end the night.
