    The grill with chicken pieces
    Aimee H.

First time trying this place out even though it's been around for a couple of years and we were greeted by friendly staff! Great concept where you pick the bowls: Mini--2 chicken pieces and some toppings of your choice Poulet Rouge--3 chicken pieces and 6 toppings Poutine--3 chicken pieces and 3 toppings Then you pick the chicken flavor: spicy, garlic, BBQ, lemon. For the carbs, you have a choice of brown rice, couscous or quinoa. You can even do half-half! As for toppings, avocado is an extra bit you have a wide variety of toppings to choose from: olives, corn, peppers, onions, cheese, pickles, etc. You also get to choose between spicy mayo and/or tzatziki sauce for extra flavor. Poutine was hearty and with the tender grilled chicken was extra delish! The chicken had a nice grill flavor to it. The mini bowl is perfect for lunch while the regular bowl was too much but you can just grab a cover and take the rest home. We loved the food, it was fresh, tasty and served up really quickly; the nice staff and the environmentally responsible choices (compostable utensils and wrappers), and the staff is wearing hairnets (thank you!). Glad that there's healthy and great tasting fast food options downtown! Would eat here again!

Poutine with shisha chicken & spicy mayo

A great place for a rice bowl or even poutine! The vegetables are very fresh and the chicken has a lot of flavor as well. The sauces are also tasty. The portions are also great for the price, very filling Overall, a great option for a filling meal.

I'd never tried this place before because I never bothered to figure out how the menu worked. Basically it's like a poke bowl but with chicken. You order the size you want, how many toppings you want, and how spicy you want your chicken. Then you continue down the counter and you add your bases (rice or quinoa, vegetables, sauces, etc). They add the chicken at the end on top. I got the small size, mild chicken, corn, olives, extra avocado, rice, and lettuce. The chicken was a bit dry but the rest of the bowl was great! I do think the olives were a bit too salty so I wouldn't get those again. The child size bowl was perfect for my appetite! I'd go back on one of my lunch breaks from school.

    Chicken salad

I ordered the chicken salad via Uber eats. Despite ordering close to close, we got our food delivered pretty quickly. The chicken was super tasty and flavorful, especially for being white meat chicken! Reducing by a star for the value-for-price and missing sauces I requested.

Build your own salad $11.89. Choose your chicken, salad base, and 5 toppings.

I got takeout at Poulet Rouge and the food was great, but the dude was mean to me :( So it was my first time there and I didn't really understand how it worked. There was a kiosk where you could order and not have to talk to a person, but I figured I'd order at the counter since I might have questions. I didn't really see any detailed instructions on the wall and there wasn't even a full menu, just some menu options as far as I could tell. I knew I wanted to build my own chicken salad, so that's what I ordered ($11.89). The guy was super impatient with me. I didn't know what types of chicken they had. He listed them for me like it was a huge bother. Then he asked me "what kind of salad do you want?" And so I asked how many toppings do I get? And he said "you get 5 toppings, but you have to chose your salad!" I was confused. Then he said "the all-dressed is this and this and this and this" and he pointed to the romaine, kale, spinach and dried cranberries. I said "ok, I'll have that." I didn't know I had to choose a salad base because I thought the salad base was just lettuce. It wasn't even busy, so I don't know why he was impatient and mean to me. Whatever, maybe he was having a bad day. Anyway, I got the Lemon Chicken. I think they call it the "Hercules." For my 5 toppings I got the bean mix (chickpeas, dark red kidney beans, I think black-eyed peas, and some sort of white beans), green peppers, cheese, beets and cucumbers. I got the cilantro-lime dressing, on the side. I usually don't like cilantro, but for some reason I like cilantro-lime rice and cilantro-lime salad dressings. The salad looked a bit small at first but it was really filling. I was so full afterwards. The chicken was delicious. Nicely seasoned with garlic and lemon. And I liked that it was lean breast meat. And real meat, not processed meat with corn and soy and other fillers mixed in. I did bite into a few pieces of cartilage, but at least not bone. The salad ingredients were fresh and I liked the different textures of the different ingredients. The salad dressing was really flavourful, but a bit too oily. I used less than a fifth of what they gave me. I'm so happy I got the dressing on the side. I liked that the guy wore gloves when he was making my salad (and not wearing gloves when he took my money). The guys at the grill use tongs to put the chicken from the grill onto your salad, so no one touches your food with bare hands. I liked this. Would have been 4 stars if the guy was nicer to me.

    Rouge bowl XL creation
    Gabrielle L.

I ordered a rouge bowl XL that I created myself through Uber eats. I didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised when the food arrived in 30 min and was so delicious!! I like that you can order predesigned bowls or create your own. I was able to select two different types of chicken so I got the spicy chicken and the shisha chicken which is basically garlic chicken. The bowl includes four chicken fillets. The spicy kitchen has a kick but isn't too spicy. You have the choice of 7 toppings so I picked kale, spinach, mixed beans, corn, jalapeño, bell peppers, Kalamata olives. I added cherry tomatoes from my fridge. I also added avocado purée and spicy mayo. You also have the choice between brown rice, bulgur wheat and quinoa. The quinoa costs $0.90 more. All in all I thought it was delicious. Personally I would have preferred more kale/spinach and less bulgur. If I had been there personally I probably could have asked for more greens. Also the menu said mixed beans but I only saw black beans in the bowl. I liked the XL because I was able to keep some for lunch tomorrow. For $1.70 more you might as well get the bigger size!! I will definitely order from here again!

    Spicy chicken bowl
    Xue L.

Got the spicy chicken bowl. You can choose the kind of chicken you want with 5 toppings. The spicy chicken was perfectly marinated but wasn't really spicy. I got the bowl with a side of avocados and tatziki. The mix was pretty good, although the rice were a bit bland and it didn't mix well with the spicy mayo. The place is pretty clean and they have free wifi. The staff were very nice and made recommendations.

Montreals newest Quebecois has one thing to say: Bon Appétit This healthy place comes with excellent service and a clean atmosphere and you'll be leaving asking for more, my professional tip: order the XL

Awesome service. Very very kind people and they all look happy! healthy and good food

The place has officially became my go to lunch joint. The chicken is grilled fresh right in front of you. The sides comes in nice quantity at an affordable price. Service is quick and perfect when I'm in a rush. Also, it's located right next to Concordia. I'll be coming to this place pretty much everyday at lunch. ps: it smells awsome on your office table and makes all your colleagues want to try it haha.

Chicken poutine with spicy mayo sauce and BBQ fusion flavour.
    Stephanie C.

Tried out their poutine and chicken bowls with some friends the other day, and it was delicious!! The BBQ fusion flavour is a go-to if you don't know which flavour to choose. For around 10$, you get a good portion of chicken and depending on what dish you get, you can choose 2 or more toppings and sauce. The place is clean and sleek, the staff are super friendly and the food is good and worth the price.

When I arrived, there was a short line, and as soon as I walked inside, the incredible aroma of rotisserie chicken filled the room. That's when I knew I was in for something special. I was told to order the wet hot chicken plate, so I did--and it absolutely did not disappoint. I also couldn't resist trying the famous chicken poutine. The flavors were bold, rich, and incredibly satisfying. The portions were enormous, too; there was easily enough food for several meals. Before leaving, I picked up a small homemade tres leches tart for dessert. It was the perfect ending to the meal. The cake was moist and delicious, and the caramelized burnt sugar on top added an amazing flavor and texture. I honestly wish Ma Poule Mouillée had a location in Detroit because this would become my monthly dinner spot without question. This place is the definition of "winner, winner, chicken dinner." If you're visiting Montreal, don't miss it--you'll leave full, happy, and already thinking about your next visit.

I'm so glad they did and still just as good as always. We ordered the chicken legs, the poutine, and pastel de nata. The ordering can be a bit confusing as it's not clear what line is which. So the move is your line up and order by the cooks in front then move to the back to pay at the cashier. The portions are large and even the small poutine can feed a family. I lived the spicy chicken and pastel de nata. The poutine was good but didn't need the sausage. Overall very happy we revisited and that they're still amazing.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Casual Korean eatery. Great combos…read morewith lots of variety. Everything was tasty. The Long Version: My husband and I went here for lunch. I got the fried chicken combo ($16.99) and my husband got the beef combo ($16.99). We requested no sesame seeds for our food and they accommodated by not sprinkling sesame seeds on the rice, japchae or beef, but they forgot that one of the fried chicken sauces has sesame seeds in it, so I had to give my husband that piece. We were going to share anyway, so it wasn't a big deal for me. The Fried Chicken Combo came with 3 pieces of fried chicken, each one a different flavour: original, sweet and spicy, and soy garlic. The sweet and spicy sauce has sesame seeds in it. Since I can't eat sesame seeds but can tolerate slight contamination, I didn't bring it up and just gave that piece to my husband. Although in retrospect I should have alerted them for them to be more aware for someone else who might have a more severe issue. Both combos came with japchae, rice, 2 dumplings, and coleslaw. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It was great. I liked both the original and the soy garlic. Hubby liked the sweet and spicy. The beef was tender and flavourful. And I liked that it was lean meat and not gristly. The dumplings were deep-fried and had pork and vegetables in it. The rice was nicely steamed and slightly sticky which I liked. The japchae was flavourful and had shiitake mushrooms, carrots, bell peppers and onions in it. It was little too oily for my preference, but I still enjoyed it. The combos also came with a can of soda or a bottle of water. My husband got a Coca Cola and I got a bottle of water, which I took to go to drink during my shopping adventures after lunch, since we were given tap water with our meal. Service was courteous and efficient. Lots of indoor seating with televisions playing K-pop music videos in the dining room. The restaurant is down a flight of stairs, so might be a problem for those with mobility issues. Review #18 (2025)
