I don't have a lot to say about this place other than it was really good. I got their fish and chips and it was spot on. My wife had the Cuban and she said it was good. They were very busy but they got us in. We sat in the very back. It was much quieter out there and less chaotic. It's a bar, so noise is to be expected. I'd eat here again. read more

Castaways is a local favorite on Tablerock Lake. It's tucked away in an older strip mall. Don't let the exterior fool you. The food is delicious, service is quick and friendly. We had a burger and fries and also a Philly with coleslaw. Everything was yummy and the beer was cold! Prices are reasonable. Great Lake country establishment. Walk in to some great live music and great atmosphere. Sat on the back porch area. Wait staff was amazing for our party of 10. No one had a bad or even mediocre meal from the Philly cheesesteak to the pulled pork to fish and chips to the salad. On Wednesday night it was packed. This was a neat find at our wkend away at Branson. We were tired of the hour plus wait at restaurants in Branson and decide to try somewhere slight off and this is a great find. Nice atmosphere and great food. They have all sorts of burgers and fried appetizers like fried mushrooms and pickles. Everything is made at the restaurant and was very delicious. Had to wait a bit for the food but at Covid times, I think we should all have some patience. They do not wear mask though but they do have a patio area over looking the water. Two stars because the food was decent and was served hot thanks to kitchen staff running our food out but the place is filthy even for a dive bar with dust and grease clinging to everything. The burger buiss is competitive so I have had a better burger but this one was solid good. If you are a NON SMOKER do not go to the back of the bar outside. Should have been a 4 star, the food is glorified (much better than most) bar food that has always been good. However the bartender was cussing like a real jerk (drop of the f-bomb) and throwing partial cups of ice at someone he knew. The place has always been loud and a couple of people can get a bit obnoxious - however, this was one of only a couple places open on Mondays & Tuesdays. We brought a friend that was visiting - frankly I was a little embarrassed because we've met many people there and enjoyed Castaways, often. Stopped to kill some time before arriving at Table Rock. Yes, it's a dive bar. Wasn't our first choice. Next time it will be our TOP CHOICE! Dropped in wednesday night and it was completely packed, not a pair of chairs available. But we did not stay; not because there weren't chairs. This is a very small Pub and the kind I would like to hang out at with a few brews and good bar food, but there was not a single mask in the place and yea maybe everyone was local but we were visiting out of towners.
