Arrived in Branson for three days. Our first day, we were wanting to grab a cold beverage and decided to go to Branson's Landing and look around. Stumbled on Waxy's. Scored two seats at the bar and settled in. Guys behind the bar were very friendly. We decided on a couple of Peroni's and they were served in the real Peroni's glass. Ice cold and enjoyable. We then decided to split the house burger; we werent very hungry. I asked if they would cut the burger for us....no problem. When they brought out our order, they had the burger halves on seperate plates and had split the order of fries. Nice touch. The burger was very good and bartenders were constantly keeping and eye on us and asking if we needed anything. The pub is a little noisy (we're old), which is to be expected in an Irish Pub. The soccer game was about to begin. It was a great experience and we will return when in Branson. Highly recommend. read more

This was our first time going to this pub and the best thing about this pub was our server Jack. The fish and chips were par and said half a pound but the two pieces were on the small size. Slaw and chips were good. This is the only Irish bar/pub I have entered that didn't have Irish music playing. They had a juke box where people selected the music with a limited Irish selection. We asked about a live band and one was playing that evening but it was not going to be playing Irish music. Beautiful decorated place but lacks true Irish spirit. read more

For my first visit to Waxy O'Shea's, I decided to order the jalapeño burger. It was one of the best burgers I've had in recent memory -- the beef patty was flavorful and cooked perfectly. It was topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, fried red onions and a bacon or tomato jam (the menu didn't list the ingredients, so I'm not 100% sure which it was). The side of fries were extra crispy and well seasoned, which I really liked. The laid-back atmosphere and the great service made the overall experience a great one. I would definitely go back to explore some of the more Irish items and drinks on the menu. read more

Our waiter Matt Turner nice guy always ask for our food and drinks. The service from him was excellent . I love the Irish Pub atmosphere. I order Guinness it was on tap and poured right kinda right, "If you have been to Ireland you know it has to be poured "just right", but it was still fresh tasting the Wicklow chicken was good and the Rueben was ok nothing special. Went here for a bachlorette. HORRIBLE service!!! The server completely messed up our whole entire bill, combined our bill with another tables bill! Took over an HOUR to get it figured out. Still never brought us bills and then so my group left and they had the nerve to CHASE me out of the bar to pay for a $36 bill that I WAITED OVER AN HOUR FOR, and it wasn't even correct!!! Awesome ness! My wife and I had just arrived in town to celebrate her birthday. It being close to hotel we were staying made it even easier decision. Sitting at bar, only 4 other at bar, Took about 5-10 mins to before the bartender ask what we wanted to drink. Got our drink fairly quick then she walked off. Waited another 5-10 mins and had to ask for a menu, 10-15 mins later she still had not come back to take our order so we just paid out. Also, there were only 10-12 others in the whole place. Went in for lunch. There were four or five people sat at the bar, seven to ten tables sat that I could see, so nowhere near busy. There were two servers working the tables. I stood at the Hostess station by the door for a good 6-7 minutes next to the please wait to be seated sign. The location is great. Located in the landing. Plenty of parking and shopping nearby. Typical Irish bar setting. Menu is limited but has many favorite Irish selections. The food was just meh. I had the meatloaf and it was bland. The gravy tasted like packaged gravy, no real flavor. The Rueben was good. They offered other alternatives like fish and chips and chicken curry. The drinks took a good 15 minutes to arrive after waiting 15 minutes for service and then we didn't get a refill until we were about to leave. It really was a disappointment. Just stopped in for a quick bite. Great service. Really quick turn around from the kitchen. We're here about 5pm on a Wednesday. Half price appetizers during happy hour, so we tried the chicken strips. Really crispy, pretty tasty. I have the watermelon splash and a husband had the painkiller. Both really delicious. First off we did not make wise decisions when we decided to eat dinner after 9 pm on a Thursday. The food was not super warm but the kitchen was probably trying to close and hated us. The drinks we standard Irish bar drinks. Five stars for service Three stars for food. Our server was kick ass and we later found out he was a manager. Andrew? Drew? Not remembering it right now. Our first stop this trip, was to our favorite restaurant in Branson, Waxy O'Shea's. Our last visit was 8 years ago. We walked into a nearly empty restaurant, at lunchtime, on a Saturday...first clue. "Seat yourself," so we picked out a table we wanted, but we had to bus it ourselves. Sat waiting about 10 minutes staring at the menus. As we got up to leave, some dude finally wandered over and asked if we'd been helped. I just said "no" and told him we didn't want to wait longer. I don't know what really happened, but I'm speculating that Covid may have killed the "Old Waxy's" and there are now new owners. read more

I can say enough about how great and experience it was visiting this restaurant. The staff was extremely over worked but also extremely attentive to us. We brought out corgie for the outing and the staff was SUPER cool about having the dog on the patio, she brought ice water and a few snacks for her. The food was also very good!! We had a couple orders of chicken tenders for the kids and we got the waxy club and a salad, both of which were very good!! Recommend big time if you're traveling with a pet!! read more

We tried to eat here on a Friday night after our show but they only had the apps. So we left and came back on Saturday. We come to Branson a lot and have always wanted to come in and try it out. Our server was decent. Made a couple of mistakes but it wasn't a huge deal. I do wish more bars would have my style of beer. My ancestors will probably haunt me as I don't care for Guinness as I prefer a barrel age beer. Now for the food. We ordered the tatchos which were awesome but very few. The toppings as in cheese didn't melt but they were still very tasty. Hubby had the shepherds pie and he love it. The proportions were off as I feel it should have had more of the protein layer but he still was happy. I had the meatloaf and OMG it was fabulous. Small serving of mashed potatoes and steamed veggies which I only like the broccoli but hubby ate the others. We waited for the live music but he took too long setting up so we decided to leave. The menu sounded good, and it wasn't too busy so we stopped in. A friend and I ordered a drink, and all of us got food. It took A LONG time to get our drinks AND food even though it wasn't busy. The drinks were pretty good (mine was better than my friends...his was very strong), and the food was mixed. We wanted several things they were out of (like fish and chips), but we ended up getting cheese curds, bangers and mash, and shepherd's pie. The cheese curds were good (especially when you dipped them in gravy). The bangers and mash was the best thing we had, and it was very good. The shepherd's pie was the biggest letdown. Not very flavorful. We had to wait even longer to get our check, so we didn't end up getting dessert even though it sounded good. Overall, the food was good but not worth that wait we had to sit through. The staff apologized for being understaffed and slow, but it was really hindering our experience just how much time it took. read more

On our last night in Branson we went looking for great food. Unfortunately, we did not find it. Waxy's has a great pub atmosphere and friendly service, but that's where the greatness ends. It took a while for someone to greet us, then a longer wait for our drinks. Our server was very friendly but seemed frazzled with the little tables he had. The food was such a let down. Everything, but the fish, was either over cooked or had very little flavor. The fish according to the hubs was amazing just not worth the price. Service here was great, the food was just ok. I ordered the rueben which lacked flavor and not much sauce. My kids ordered the fish, it was better than the rueben. We were here for lunch but they do have a great bar area which is probably great for a night out at the pub and the location is ideal. read more

Yes, they were several: doorman/bouncer was a shining example of service - he not only greeted me politely, respectfully checked my ID but also brought me a menu and made sure everything was alright. Above & beyond. The LIVE band - truly superb! So great to hear live music, tasteful, not too loud and great atmosphere. Really great band playing Southern Rock and Oldies covers - 2 young ladies and 2 other gentlemen. Plus, the tables were all socially distanced and clean. Service was hit & miss - my server - horrible, MIA and long intervals of non-existence but every other server was excellent and stepped up to help out with a smile on their faces! When did my sadness begin? At the wings. Chicken Wings. This was my sole purpose for seeking out this restaurant. I absolutely disdain having to 2* this place, especially as its Post-COVID, tough on all small business and Biden's handout policies are preventing restaurants from finding decent talent BUT - this restaurant has had a year to prep. And failed. I wanted wings. I ordered here as I had read on Yelp (of all places) - this had the best wings in Branson. In an Irish pub. Go figure but I've seen stranger. I ordered their standard wings appetizer. I received 8 wings, below average size & swimming in their version of a "hot" sauce, I assume? Tragic and heart breaking. I was truly excited to go out to eat, sit down and support a local business. What transpired was a sub-par fiasco. Please, for the love if Pete, get ur sh*t together WAXY'S! Seriously. You have a premiere location and are just p!ssing it all away. If you don't improve, the quality of food, presentation and consistent service - you'll by closed by Christmas. Came in for a new beer and some Irish vittles. Food was okay. Scotch eggs were dry and boring. Zero flavor. Irish egg rolls were good but got cold pretty quick. Burger was good...just a burger though. Service was slow although they were busy. No personality at all. They didn't have any Harps. Couldn't order a black&tan or half&half. How does an Irish bar run out of Irish beer by 5pm on New Year's Eve?!?! Won't be back. That makes me sad. :( read more

We got here right during the lunch rush at noon. I had curry chicken Boxty and wife had wicklows chicken. If you like curry then get it here. Mine was AMAZING I SO LOVED EVER BITE. The wife chicken was SO INCREDIBLE. The mash potatoes needed some seasoning but that is how a lot of people make it so you can put salt and pepper to your liking.
