I've used Castillo 3 times. They are professional, hard working, and the materials they have access to are superior to what I could buy at Home Depot. My recent repair was a 10 foot gate opening. They fabricated the metal frames in advance. All welded steel and 4x4 heavy duty posts. Also heavy duty hinges that were welded to the frames. They built a 6 foot and 4 foot gate so we can use the 4 foot regularly for garbage cans etc. Opening both sides gives 10 foot wide access for a vehicle if needed. Here are a couple pics. They sent me and my neighbor an email to digitally sign for the contract splitting the cost 50-50, as my neighbor and I had agreed. In 60 years of owning 15 homes and having had built many fences for those homes, I have experienced many different fence crews. Today I had the opportunity to meet the "Best". Fernando and his assistant are outstanding individuals. They worked with me to realize the type of fence I wanted. The old fence was torn down and loaded onto the truck. From the time they drove up at 8:15 am to when they finished around 1:00 pm, they never stopped. Each one knew exactly what they had to do to, building the 34' ft- 8' ft. tall Redwood "Board on Board" fence. A heck of a 2 man team. It started all with Gerver, the estimator that came to my home. He took time, listening to me, looking at the old fence, and designing one that mirrored the old one but was 10x's stronger and better looking. His estimate was extremely fair. No need to go into too many details when a picture speaks a thousand words. Had 3 competing quotes, went with this company because they had the lowest price. Little did I know it would be the lowest quality, too. The workers did very little communicating with me that day, spoke in Spanish the whole day to the resident neighbor who told them his household needed space for their garbage cans (when the owner of the house refused to pay their portion or talk to me prior to the project, until I served them with court papers a few months after the project was "complete"). That neighbor spent the whole day drinking and chatting with the workers and helping them. Literally! Castillo Fencing workers put the posts almost a foot into my front yard. Huh?! Management and owners were rude AF on the phone, told me we could sort it out later if I got a survey. Of course I stupidly said, "yes." What else was I to do when the old fence was already gone? Long story short, it will cost $15,000 to get a professional survey and county recording done to confirm what common sense can see. I'd rather spend that sum of money on a bathroom remodel and to get away from these lousy neighbors. So yeah, buyer beware, i don't know of any company that would look at this and say, "yeah, this seems right!" Also, a few tips: Better Business Bureau will get you nowhere with these clowns but you do have four years to pursue a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Please, if you're reading this, it is my opinion that you go with a better company! read more

I just called to cancel- BUT ITS NOT WHAT YOU THINK! I just got off the phone and I've been anxious as hell because I had a family emergency come up this weekend and the money I had saved for the fence repair and gate extension is GONE! It's scheduled for this Friday 10/27 and here I am already feeling bummed AND having to call and cancel made me so nervous bc I thought I would have to reveal the reason why and explain extensively and what not. But nope- I spoke to Dave and he said sure no problem and I asked him how long is the quote good for (since I'm going to probably delay until January or so) and he says no we just do a materials check make sure prices haven't changed and if so we only change the amount for materials. Now, I'm not sure is that's the case for everyone but it is for my quote. Might as well review the initial consult with Gerber-a great guy very thorough and answered all questions. The quote wasn't "cheap" but it's doesn't matter when customer service is top notch... this is where I want my money to go, a local company that cares about customers! Only doing 4 stars bc the actual job hasn't been done but rest assured I will be back to add pictures once I get my project done in a few months. read more

Exceptional. My neighbor and I went with Castillo because of their attractive pricing, but their work has made me a fan. On the day of he installation, the crew was able to be here early. They were able to take away the old fence, and install a new one in less than day. I was able to communicate with the lead worker of what I wanted on site, and he was so helpful. Because of the recent storm, I had a small tree stump that got up-rooted. I asked if they can break it down so I can put it in my trash, and the worker replied "Don't worry we will take care of it." And they hauled it away. Here is the kicker: while one of the workers was leaving my backyard, he noticed my gate on the other side was in need of repair (it was dragging on the ground and wouldn't close). My neighbor and I had a good neighbor fence installed right after Labor Day weekend last year. My half was slightly over 2k, which I thought was quite high bet attributed it to the cost of lumber! The fence was installed as scheduled and seemed to be just fine.. However, I started having problems with the gate not closing. Thought it may have been due the rains and wood swelling. They scheduled a repair but didn't show so had to follow up a few times before they finally came! Again, a few more months later the gate is worse and it won't even meet with the other side. Called again for repair, they were supposed to come last Friday and never showed. Was told someone would be calling yo schedule a time that didn't happen either. Both my daughter and I have hurt ourselves trying to close it and we have a dog and worried about him getting out! I mentioned this when I spoke to the office last week and they didn't seem to care! I will try calling again tomorrow. If I don't get an answer or promise to fix, I will definitely be looking at other means ti resolve!! This company doesn't seem to care about repairs , you would think they would want to make things right and in a timely fashion, and keep the customer happy and safe!! read more

This company has horrible customer service. I call and then get hung up on, I call back and the guys says rudely can you hold, I said yes. I was on hold for a long time so I hung up. No one should give this business any of their money. I called because the home next to us is managed by a property management and they stated that they sent the work order to Castillo. I told the property management company that they should not be one of their vendors after my experience. The tenant expressed to them as well that they were not responsive. Just horrible! read more

The entire process was very smooth. My neighbor and I hired them to build our gates and front fences. Mine included a cubby spot for my garbage cans (I hate them visible in the front) I am REALLY happy with our fence work with Castillo Fencing. I also got some shocking bids. Not only did they come in at a good price but they honored the price from the bid I got two years prior. I have attached some photos.
