Based on my recent personal experience, I unfortunately have to agree with all the negative…read morereviews. 1. Pressure to put down a deposit -- do NOT do it unless your design is final. They will push you hard to pay a deposit to "lock in" a price. In reality, any change to your initial design--no matter how small--results in a higher quote, and they will not provide any breakdown to justify the increases. You're left with two choices: accept the added cost on faith, or walk away and lose your deposit. There is no actual price lock. 2. Promises that aren't reflected in writing. The owner, Fatih, may verbally assure you that you can recover half of your deposit if you decide not to move forward during the design phase. Insist on getting everything in writing before paying anything. Once you receive the written terms (which only show up after you've sent the deposit if you let them rush you), you'll find that you are not entitled to any refund if you ever request your design--whether for review, record-keeping, or any legitimate purpose. Unsurprisingly, none of this is mentioned before they take your money. 3. Poor communication once they have your deposit. After paying, be prepared to chase them. I repeatedly had to send multiple emails and make follow-up calls just to receive a one-line response. And after these delays, they will inform you that your "locked-in" price is about to expire unless you finalize your order within a couple of days--again with no refund of your deposit if you don't. 4. Vague and non-specific documentation. The price they claim you've "locked in" only applies to an undefined "as-per-design" reference--without details. If you don't have a copy of the design, I'm not sure how you could ever prove what you supposedly locked in. They avoid putting anything concrete in writing, making it nearly impossible to hold them accountable. That alone should be a major red flag. I made the mistake of trusting this business based on a recommendation from someone I know. I hope that sharing my experience helps others avoid the same situation.

We're pretty picky about interior design, and the entire team was super patient with us throughout the entire process and very helpful. The owner himself came to our house multiple times (initial measurements, double checking, partial installation, complete installation, follow-up, etc.) to make sure everything was going well. One time, when a third-party cabinet supplier forgot to include a side panel in the initial shipment, the owner handpicked a virtually perfect match from some unrelated stock and just gifted it to us so that we could cut it and apply it to our island in time for a huge party we were having at our house that weekend, and we got the actual panel shortly after that. They've got a great selection of cabinetry, hardware, and countertop material, in addition to some other stuff. It's been 13 months now since installation was complete, and we're still in a state of shock about how beautiful the whole thing is every time we walk into the kitchen. He really listens to what kind of look you want, and takes the time to explain the answers to your questions. He also did an AMAZING job in masonry, repaving my broken walkway where someone backed into it. He took the time to locate the exact shades of stone so it wouldn't look so obvious color wise having old stone against brand new stone. He also went above and beyond my first weeks knowing him, driving across town to help resolve a complex issue with my fence that my fence guys could not do on their own. We hired Jay's team to design and install new landscaping for our front and back yards in the Winter/Spring of 2018. They fine-tuned the design to our liking, helped us understand what could work in the environment and got it installed on time! Our children thoroughly enjoyed the "Bird & Butterfly" garden all summer long - running outside to observe the monarchs and swallowtails at work! We met with Jay several times to discuss building a retaining wall across my severely sloping…read morebackyard. They charged $250 for the initial consultation which was in line with what other landscapers charged. Jay has many years of experience in the field, something that he highlights frequently through numerous stories of past projects. During the consultation, we were upfront about our budget (around $50k) and showed him estimates we had received from other landscapers that came in well under that ($25k - $30k). While we figured Green Jay Landscaping would cost more, their years of experience persuaded us to pay them $2400 to work up a site plan proposal (just a proposal, no drawings for the village planning boards or building department). What they delivered weeks later was a poster board with some printouts of plants. Jay told us how many people (engineers, architects, etc) were working on our project and how he's consulted with the building department in order to figure out what could be done. While all this sounded very comprehensive and impressive, at the end of the day we only had the start of a landscaping plan (basically the plants they would use) and nothing more. A few more weeks of pestering Jay for a proposal and a cost estimate to build the wall, I receive a text from him stating that it would cost $140k to build our wall which is almost triple our budget and 4x the amount of other estimates (in all fairness, Jay was proposing something much larger and grander than what other landscapers had proposed). Still, this estimate was delivered via a text with no explanation. After expressing my dissatisfaction, Jay did return to give a fuller explanation in person and to propose a much more scaled down project. What Jay proposed did sound more reasonable but he wanted another $800 to develop the proposal for this scaled down project (he explained that we had used up our $2400 due to the number of hours they spent consulting engineers and others for our original project). While I believe Jay tried to develop a proposal for a project that in the end would make us exceptionally happy, he failed to deliver anything of value for the $2650 total we spent. Given Jay's extensive experience, I would have expected him to tell us fairly quickly what would be possible within our budget. In other words, Jay should not have needed to spend $2400 consulting engineers and others to figure out that the original idea for the location of the retaining wall was not within our $50k budget.
