I learned later, with other craftsmen, that with correct tools and consideration of my desired outcome, it was not necessary to butcher my floors on their edges. This flooring company tore my floor up. I did try to go cheap so I went with them. I did not know that when we negotiated price, I negotiated away the sealant ti protect floors and allowance to butcher my floors. I was told back/forth 2/3 coats on floor. With/without sealant? Angel said 2 coats sealant. Soon dirt is well in the grains of wood. I know because I can see where a rectifying area was made with the sealant compared to everything that sticks with floor. I have question is it the @Bona #Bona product. My first rodeo. Fixing will cost me an entire 675 sq new floor. It aches my heart. I don't have that kind of money and I wanted a nice outcome. If I had been informed more, I would have work harder to have paid more instead to spend so much more now fix in a few years after I save to do it. Why are workers not honest?!!!! Please inform the consumer the cost of cutting price. I have regrets that will cost me now to redo and seal my floors, and more, if I want to resume my useable sq ftg because you ate it away to close the gaps you butchered. Please do not do this to another customer again. Just be honest even if you don't get the job. I am so hurt.

He was very professional and polite. I chose my carpet, put down a deposit and Shane told me when he expected the carpet to come in. He did advise me that there might be a delay due to supply chain issues. While waiting for the carpet, Shane was easy to get a hold of and he was very communicative. The carpet came in when he thought it would and we scheduled the install. When Shane arrived to install the carpet he was very careful and meticulous. He put down clean gripping drop cloths wherever it was necessary while he worked. He made sure that his tools and carpet weren't in the way of foot traffic. Shane is a hard worker and you can see the pride he takes in his work. He completely moved our bedroom furniture, removed the old carpet and pad and installed the new carpet, and replaced our bedroom furniture, in one bedroom, in one day. He not only installed the new carpet but he fixed a squeak we had in the floors of both bedrooms. Shane made sure we were happy with the furniture placement and was very careful moving it. The next day, Shane removed the furniture, removed the old carpet, installed the new carpet and replaced the furniture in our smaller bedroom/office, in a half a day. Enter Jeff Mahedy and Affordable Floors in New Windsor, NY. Jeff came to the house, gave us a very reasonable price and assured us that it wouldn't be that bad...and he was right. On the day the work started, Marcio did a great job of taping up just about everything and putting up plastic that kept a great deal of the dust down and after the sanding and stripping, did a fantastic job of staining and putting polyurethane on the floors. The floors look better than new and we couldn't be happier. They are smooth, the finish is excellent and the value of our house just went up! I would highly recommend Affordable Floors, and they are family owned for over 30 years. Their service and quality of workmanship are excellent. If you have to do this messy job, let Affordable Floors do it for you!

Hired this company to replace linoleum in the kitchen, eat in kitchen and dining room. Requested…read morethe same wood as the rest of the house, sand down whole house and stain everything the same color. As soon as I saw the new flooring I knew it wasn't right. I researched and learned that they put down #1 grade red oak. The house has select grade (higher) WHITE OAK. And the floor was poorly laid with H joints everywhere. The president John took no responsibility. He accused me of lying by way of wanting a free floor. He kept trying to convince me the entire house was red oak (I went the extra mile and had it chemically tested. It's white oak). John stated that it was "awfully funny that I suddenly knew so much about floors" (of course once I saw something was wrong I wanted to understand what that was). John proceeded to rip a chunk out the corner of the living room floor for testing, as opposed to the closet where I asked him to remove it. See photo. Outrageous (for photos see google review) We took a HUGE LOSS on this floor. John REFUSED to remove the floor they installed! We had to pay another company to clean up this mess. It set us behind by MONTHS as post-covid construction is booming and it was difficult to obtain the correct wood at that time. Summery: wrong species of wood, wrong grade floor, layed over my old subfloor but charged for removal and replacement of subfloor, poorly layed down. Refused to remove the floor. Accused me of laying despite all evidence presented to him. I regret not suing this company, something I have never done. But we just did not have the mental energy in the middle of this remodel to take on a court case. *Update through replacement process we discovered they did NOT take out and replace the existing subfloor - which they charged me for. They put the floor in over my old subfloor. See photos on my Google review.

The owner Greg is personable and very helpful. His installers are skillful and efficient -- and very nice. The flooring is beautiful and a perfect match to my existing floors. The reason for my 3-star rating is because a thin transition strip (to finish the break between carpet and the flooring) -- which was quoted on and paid for -- is yet to be installed. Between December 20th and today (February 3) it was scheduled 3 or 4 times and each time there was a reason why they could not come by to install it on the scheduled dates. My fault for not holding back some of my payment until it was completely finished, but lesson learned.
