I bought a Springfield Arms 10mm with red dot here. The owner had no issue finding me the best price and ordering it for me. That was really good but we had an issue with some of the magazines I ordered being the wrong type. The owner went ahead and took care of the situation by ordering the correct mags and keeping the wrong type. The situation was resolved in the best way for me, no hassle. Cut to 8 months later. The red dot that came with the pistol stopped working. I went back to Castle Keep and they handled the warranty claim for me. You may save a nickel or two by ordering online but the customer support I have received from this company truly makes buying local much more valuable. I was a loyal customer when Rich owned the store. I bought and traded many guns with him. I went to the store this morning to check out the new owners. I was a few minutes early so I sat in the parking lot. At 10:00 another car pulled up and an elderly gentleman got out and and went to the door. he knocked on the door but no one answered. He got back in his car and waited a couple of minutes and tried again. Still no one there. He left. So did I. When a business advertises open at a certain time I expect them to be there. I had not been into Castle Keep for a couple of years. No reason, just timing, I guess. Anyway, took my wife in there to look around at a weapon for her. We were blown away by how friendly and service oriented Adam, Tim, Jessica and Sam were! This is what a retail experience should be like. Adam and Tim were very knowledgeable about the weapons and were very accommodating with our many "can I see this, can I see that" questions. They even showed us some new, improved pistols with easier to slide uppers! Over all, think I have to say we found our new one stop shop! My wife LOVES her new weapon! 15 shot magazine, easy rack, she's ready for anything. The new "Range Purse" is awesome! I visited here with a new, unfired, boxed with papers/receipt, personal piece I had hoped to sell/get store credit/trade-in value, for another piece they had for sale here. Unfortunately, 2 of the staff were quite rude and nearly "laughed" me out of the store? They offered me only 20% on a piece that I originally paid a lot more for, and almost a decade ago?. They made sure to add, they would be "doing me a favor." Ok, I get it. Castle Keep needs to pay overhead and "keep the lights on," but the level of shunning, pure arrogance, and snark I received was totally unwarranted. A simple, "No thank you, we are not interested," would have done wonders to keep me as a potential buying customer. I was prepared to buy your piece anyway, but the negative attitude guided my money elsewhere. So later, I went to a similar store that gladly gave me 4 TIMES MORE trade-in-credit for my piece and actually managed to not treat me like a total idiot! I have since taken all of my business there. Maybe CK is great to buy, but if you are thinking of trying to sell or trade here? Do yourself a BIG favor and call CK first, so you can just be insulted over the phone. Hostile customer service. Poor selection of Colts. Staff would not show me how to disassemble the pistol unless I bought it, which I had planned to do. Staff did not know that fiber optic sites are standard on new Browning 22 Buckmark pistols. Great place to go if you want staff to act macho. read more

Cross them off your list. I have purchased a number of high end firearms over the years from them including two Gary Reeder Customs, two commemorative Buntline specials and numerous others that sit in my gun safe. In addition I have sent the store many referrals. Six weeks ago I purchased a custom single action revolver and as an afterthought also purchased an inexpensive military surplus enfield handgun from them at the same time. Came to find out the enfield was misrepresented so on my visit there today I wanted to trade it in for another purchase. The owner said he was not interested and would offer me zero $ as a trade in because he "had it in the display for a year and a half and it didn't move" . If he offered me half of what I paid him for the piece of junk that would have been fine . Nope. Sorry dude , caveat emptor. Well I'm also sorry to inform you I will never set foot in your establishment again . I have a feeling that allot of the negative reviews on Castle Keep could be from the competition. I have found that CK is fair with trade-in values, and that the staff is informative and willing to talk. Furthermore, they refunded my money with no questions asked on a used gun I purchased that had issues that they were un-aware of at time of sale. They certainly didn't act like money hungry, non-caring workers like the other reviewers portray...I'd certainly use them for my firearm needs. read more

I have shopped and bought guns there for 30 years. I knew the original owner and when he passed away I knew his son who got the business. It used to be a great store with professional staff and a very good selection. I went in just recently after not being there for years and was totally shocked; the store looked run down with very little selection, there were different staff (two guys) who seemed like losers. I have a good business relationship with Rich the owner. I went there last week and Rich was off. Jim the manager was working the counter. While we were talking I voiced my opinion on a certain matter to which he took offence. I do tend to voice my opinions strongly as, apparently, does Jim. He actually screamed at me. I apologized for upsetting him. He responded by saying he would not ever assist me again. I left. Rich the owner called me later that day and apologized for the incident. The older clerk, probably the owner was incredibly rude and insulting from the minute we walked in the door. His confrontational manner almost drove us out to go look elsewhere for a gun to buy. Finally, a younger person took over the sale and we got along fine with him and ended up finding the gun we wanted to buy so we took it. Bought a weapon from this place on line and called after one week for an update. Very rude and dismissive customer service. Heard nothing after 2 more weeks and called, told to wait again, but not quite as rude, but rude none the less. After another 10 days got a ridiculous voice mail with laughter and smirks saying " your gun is here come get it". I had the unfortunate, disappointing and regretful visit to Castle Keep Guns this afternoon. Just as all the other reviews state, the store is run by two arrogant, lazy, overweight, cocky, unintelligent, dirty rednecks. It's very safe to say that I will never be back and I highly recommend going else where. As I approached the store and walked in, I was immediately hit with the dirtiest and musty smell. I would guess that the store has not been cleaned in years. I walked around the store to look at their inventory and accessories, I was very unimpressed not only by the pricing but the display and the lack of help. Not once did either two of the gentleman ask me if I needed assistance. Instead they were both sitting in the back desk talking about how they could make an automatic machine gun off of a 3-D printer, and legally use the serial number "f**k01". Remarkably I managed to stay in the store and continue to browse. Ironically while I was there a customer came in to complain about a gun he purchased last week from them....... He was asking a question about an AR 15 and how it was jamming each and every time he went to fire it. The two employees had nothing to say and eventually the customer asked if they knew of a specialist he could take the gun to, to have it looked at by a professional as it was very clear these people knew nothing about his issue. Again this lack of customer service dumbfounded me. That's when I knew it was time to leave and take my business elsewhere. All of their accessories, including ammunition, holsters, cleaning kits, and gun parts are very very old and dusty but yet they are represented as new with brand-new retail pricing. Do yourself a favor and drive 1 mile down the street to shoot straight or better yet take a drive over to Tampa to shooters world and have a true professional help you... I have bought many guns from Kastle Keep and they are the first place I tell people to go. Friendly bunch of guys with a very good selection of firearms. If you've ever gone into a gun store and felt belittled or ignored, that won't happen here. If busy, which happens, it may take time to get to you but they will do their best to help you out. A great place for virgin gunners as they won't talk down to you and will take the time to try to guide you to some good options. I thought I'd go down and get a deal on a new gun today. Walked in, no one else in store except two employees and...that uncomfortable feeling. One was a nice younger guy, fairly talkative. The OTHER: A fat, Crotchety, old man with a very unfriendly attitude. Grey butch-cut hair, looks in bad health. Didn't move away from his desk (possibly because he can't get up). Answered my questions with curt replies in a dismissive voice tone that made me think I was keeping him from something...like a 6 pack. Ya know, those assholes who browbeat everyone accept clones of themselves? I was going to spend near $1,000 but after one last indication that I was a nuisance to him, I said "ya know..never mind, I'll buy them elsewhere." He said, "Nooooo problem" in that Asshole tone. I'm 51 y/o, overly friend and funny to chat with. The Nasty old man said two of the guys left 2 years ago and the he was a Business partner. Lol...More like a Business Poison.
