Castle Nails did a great job accommodating our group of three walk-ins and got us seated very quickly, which we appreciated. The pedicure service itself was good; however, I had gel polish done on Friday, and by Sunday one of my toenails had already chipped off, which was disappointing given the price and expectation of durability. I also paid for a full nail set with a specific design. I showed the design beforehand, and I was assured it could be done, but unfortunately the final result did not turn out as expected. The designs on each hand were different sizes and looked uneven. In addition, some of the nails were not shaped or trimmed evenly, and one nail is noticeably crooked. We've visited this salon before and usually had positive experiences, which makes this especially disappointing. After spending close to $300, I don't feel the quality matched the cost this time, and sadly I don't think we'll be returning. read more

My daughter had finished getting her nails done. She pushed the chair out to get up to pay. When she pushed the chair out the front leg gave out and she ended up on the floor totally humiliated. If you look at the chair, you can see where it had been glued before. The manager who runs the place now, Don, did nothing. He asked if she was OK, and then proceeded to try and check her out, he did not offer any type of compensation at all. He has been telling people that it was her fault. He's been lying about his nail Techs. Don does not clean tools after each customer. He is running this place into the Ground. Don will take walk-ins & place them with someone who has an upcoming appointment. This in turn makes the customer who had the appointment scheduled to be put off and have to wait. Teresa, if you want to save this business please come back and get rid of Don. I'm afraid there won't be much of a business left. read more

This place used to be great when Teresa was in charge. Since Don became in charge it has gone downhill tremendously. He lied about a nail tech. My daughter was getting up from her chair & the chair broke sending her to the floor. Don didn't do anything about it. Terrible...everything. We sat for a good hour or so in the chairs before finally getting service. At least they were massage chairs. But we had a 4, 8, & 9 year old with us to get a birthday mani/pedi, so that wasn't the most fun. I've only been here a handful of times but I really like the atmosphere. It's very nice. The staff are really quick. They offer drinks as well. I have never had to wait to get seated even during COVID they have plenty of help. I will definitely keep coming back! Plus Don is very caring. Our party of 4 had appointments Friday morning, Nov. 18 - 2 mani/pedis and 2 manicures only. We arrived on time. The 2 pedicures started promptly. One person got her manicure done during the pedicure. The other did not for some unknown reason. The first manicure person began to be served about 10:20. I was the second manicure person, and mine did not even start until the first was finished. The second mani/pedi person's manicure didn't start until after mine was finished. It was almost 12:30 when we finally walked out - 2-1/2 hours for an outing that should have taken only an hour. We all had a full day planned (including a wedding rehearsal later in the day), so what should have been a fun, relaxing outing instead caused schedule pressure because of how long it took. Additionally, my manicure was not satisfactory. The person who did it rushed the process. He took a significant nip out of the cuticle on my left thumb (besides other smaller nips in other places). Coverage was not complete; several nails have bare edges, and two have distinct lines because the two layers of polish were not applied evenly. I have been careful, yet just a few days after the manicure the polish on the edge of one nail began to chip, and the next day another nail did the same. A manicure done correctly with quality products should last much longer than that under gentle wear. Two others in the group also had visible flaws in their manicured nails. So besides the schedule pressure that resulted from the slow service (I repeat that we DID have appointments and we DID arrive on time), we were very disappointed in the quality of service. read more

As a licensed tech, from my own experience and the poor customers that come in after coming into this salon, I would not suggest this salon to anyone. People have been cut, burned, given MAJOR infections from improper sanitization and the overall job is not good. They are drill happy and more worried about getting people in and out than the integrity of someone's nails. read more

I have visited this nail salon several times over the last two years and their work has been decent. I'd say they're the best in Abilene. I went for a pedicure yesterday right when they opened and was seated, no one came to attend to me after that. I just figured everyone wasn't at work yet since they'd just opened, and a couple others were doing manicures. 6 other women walked in and all of a sudden everyone is jumping up to do their pedicures, while I'm still sitting there with an empty basin, twiddling my thumbs. So, I tell the young lady at the register and she said she'll let them know. I sit there for another five minutes, a new customer walked in and she was help with her pedicure. So I got up and left. Will NOT be returning. 20 minutes with no help when I arrive before 7 other women that were helped immediately is poor customer service. UPDATE (a few hours later): they have taken all images down from their Instagram (where I also commented this review) and that is very disappointing. I expected more from this place considered they've seen me regularly for the last couple years. Please aim to do better, Castle Nails. This is to bring awareness, not to slander. read more

I have always had wonderful service at Castle Nails over the years.. but have never left a review and I'm not usually one who does leave reviews (good or bad), but felt I needed to this time. I came in first thing this morning and asked for my toes and nails done at the same time so I could get it done and get to work on time. They did just that and more. David did a wonderful pedicure and massage. Lynda did my nails, and then even did my eyebrow waxing and dye. She talked with me the whole time and made me feel like she cared. And all of these services were done in under two hours working together as a team. They didn't rush, but were timely and did everything so attentively. Pros: -- this place is clean (however when the guy pulled the nail tools out of the plastic bag used for sterility, the bag was open and he still felt the need to squirt one spray of alcohol on the clippers?) -- SUPER FAST: it was busy and there was a wait, but I was in and out in 20 min for a manicure! --- drinks are available -- manicure was good and the polish was pretty Cons -- for a $20 mani, it was a shape and polish job. After (yes...) the polish, the guy slathered some cold lotion on my forearms and wrists for about 5 seconds -- I did not know about the drinks until I was walking out and saw the bar area -- The tech was in a huge hurry and kept looking over his shoulder like he was waiting for someone to come in, it was weird -- the tech kept asking me why I didn't want to upgrade to a gel manicure for $15 more. He even told me that I would be in there "all afternoon" waiting for the polish to dry, which did not happen. In short, it felt like I'd been in the McDonald's drive thru of nail salons. It was decent and the product was acceptable, but there was no "service" to it. I always tip salons well for good service, but felt there was none provided here to even tip. The people getting pedis looked like they were having a good time, though. Maybe that's a better route at this place. read more
