I've tried twice, I am male and the first time I came in with a male friend because I can't trim my toes myself because of an injury. The friend was treated like a king and was passed around by different staff. I decided to come alone try again and it was just ok. I was put on hold for a walk in wanting a brow wax, not sure why, that person could have waited the 5 minutes to finish mine but I was put on hold for that person. My hand and toe nails are rough not smooth. I'll try other places next time. read more

my daughter got her nails done and he didn't listen to what she wanted, or what color she requested, even after she told him repeatedly he was doing the wrong color he just kept saying "i know!" In a rude way, and continued to do it wrong. He would ask her what she wanted then do whatever. it was her birthday and she ended up coming home crying Because he was being rude. The foot massage was out of this world also got a manicure and the hand massage was something I've never experienced. I was very happy that they were open on a Sunday and late too! That was a huge perk for me since my husband works a lot and we have several children so I don't always get to go do something for myself much less during convenient hours. I didn't even mind the 1.5 hour wait. I was very surprised to find a fill was $40! I got the original set at the mall for $40 and this was just a fill! So that was the first issue and I had no idea until it was time to pay. When I walked out and got in good lighting I could see where he didn't fill to the back of my nail, so it looked like I walked out of there needing a fill! What?! Then his nail polish had several bubbles in it and it's gel polish that has just peeled away from my nails. There are lumps and bumps in the polish and each bump just peels up. I went back in and asked them to fix it once last week and they did for no charge. But it happened all over again. I'll say the place in the mall by Best Buy charged the same for a full set and that lasted a month before I needed a fill with no polish issues. I won't return to this salon. The pictures are all the same set of nails, the color shifts from black, to teal, to purple depending on the light. I went by Sally's Beauty Supply and purchased some gel polish to fix this on my own. read more

I had used this salon twice before it was a decent job with nails & a wonderful job w the pedicure. (Have very painful ingrowns & he got them all.). I recommended this place to friend of mine from out of town- she said it was ok. The last time I went in (and it will be the last). the experience was terrible. It took them forever to start on my nails (not many clients in there) & then over time about 10 more filtered in. I was the first of these 10. They kept shifting everyone around to try to keep all the clients. My nails finally got finished- on to the pedicure. Waited forever with cold water. Finally got the WORST pedicure of my life by a young girl that was not trained and obviously hated her job. When I was finally finished the guy told me the total & I nearly flipped out. It was quite a bit more than was explained to me @ first. Very hard to communicate w these people @ times. Just moved to Abilene and was looking for an authentic nail shop around the area. This place is very comfortable and quiet with good music. Didn't feel awkward for being at a new spot. The guy that did my nails did a great job, even helped me fixed my pinky when I accidentally scratched on it while drying. The other lady was also very friendly and chatted with me and also offered me art work. Definitely will try next time. Got a full-set for $28 and I tipped $7. Not bad at all for what I've expected. The only thing I didn't like was he wasn't very gentle with my hands but other than that I give this place a thumb up for nail work. read more

I came into town for the weekend for a wedding. Tony helped me. While they are polite and welcoming, my French tip full-set was sloppy and not worth the $$$. I was over charged and I only asked for fills for the acrilic nail set I had gotten a few weeks before. They charged me $30 for a full set but charged 35 for fills. I told him that didn't sound right but I paid them because I had my little girl with me. I didn't want to upset her. He said something about Shellac and I said I only wanted fills for acrilic nails. I wouldn't usually do this because I also work in the spa business. I'm visiting so my sister in law recommended this place. Pedicure was good nails service okay but our wax experience was horrible. A nightmare. 2 days before my brothers wedding and my mom got welts and scabs on the places she was waxed. Hope this dosnt happen to anyone else. read more

I like YSL because of the sanitation and, depending on when you go and who you get, you get a nice pedicure. I've had fantastic pedis with Lee and so so ones with others. I would give them more stars if they would improve the consistency with all technicians. They are pricey for the higher end pedis so if you choose one it should be consistently good. Overall a clean and good place. 10/31/14 Updating them to 5 star, they really are my favorite nail place here. Just find the person you like best. Horrible customer service was left with nails half done while he started on another client

Am I allowed to say this place is awful? I went in because my usual place was so busy and I wanted to hurry before every place closed. All I wanted was a simple acrylic fill. I work at painting with a twist and I have paint under my nails that I was hoping they would've easily wiped off before they painted and re-did my nails. I was wrong. I have an extreme pet peeve with nail salons not having us wash our hands before they do a topcoat because once they put the topcoat you see all of those particles of dust or whatever it's called underneath the polish. It was all very rushed I was probably in and out in 15 minutes because they did such a terrible job. I can feel the bumps of the Gel and it just looks awful because I can see all of the particles under the polish. I have no idea why but for some reason my pinkies are in extreme pain. It feels like they are on fire every time I move them. There's no cuts so I have no idea why there is so much pain. There was one guy that started working on me and then he got a phone call and left and I had to wait for another guy to come and finish. After he put the topcoat on and told me to wash my hands, I turned around and he was waiting for me at the cash register. I was going to have him fix everything but he told me all finished you check out now. When I walked up there, he sitting there watching Facebook videos while he has a customer waiting in front of him besides me. I am very disappointed and I will not be coming back. This is the nail salon next to United and I much prefer California nails over by Hobby lobby, it was just too bad they were they were so busy. read more

My wife had called yesterday to find a certain nail tech that had moved locations. She asked for her by name, she was told the woman worked there and she made a 5:00 appt for the next day, today. Today, she called to move up the appt to 2:30 and she was told to come in. Guess what? She went in and the woman doesn't even work there!!! The man had no idea what she was talking about. My wife wishes that the employees at YSL nails would ...slow...down...and...just...listen. All they would say is "sit down" " sit down". She felt they were deceptive on the phone just to get her to come in. In the end, she just left. A loyal customer was lost. read more

I stopped in because of the 20% off sign last week. I needed a manicure and pedicure. I have used powder dip for a long time because my nails became brittle and broken with acrylics. I expressed I want a powder dip but I was interested in the hombre look. The man assured me he could do it and set me down. He started pulling out acrylics. I said NO, I want powder, he acted like he did not understand and said must use acrylics for hombre. I said please change to powder he kept trying to assure me, i hesitantly gave up! Then went for pedicure, my tech changed 3 times, one male was very dirty and coughing, I chose the $25 one off their menu and they insisted on gel and said it was $5 more. When I went to check out it was $90.00!! I questioned and complained then they went to $75! NEVER EVER AGAIN!! read more

I went here to get eyelash extensions. Paid a total of $50 bucks. After she put them on, my eyes burned for three hours. I could barely open them to pay. I asked a friend to come get me as driving wasn't an option due to not being able to keep my eyes open due to the pain. I called back today and explained what happened, and told them I wanted them removed. No apology, and they charged me to remove them. I WILL NOT be coming back or referring them. I have gotten shellac several times and they removed my full set that was desperately needing to be off. I'm a very satisfied customer. I received a "classic pedicure" for $25. The pedicure was fantastic. The older gentleman who did my pedicure was great, he paid very close attention to detail and took his time. He definitely didn't rush through it, the entire thing took around 45 minutes to an hour. I'm not one to usually talk down on a company but I definitely have to speak out about this one. Started out with a pedicure. I sat back and turned on the awesome massage chair! Felt amazing until my co-workers next to me pointed out that the man doing my pedicure adictivly and perversely watched my breast jiggling around. That's not even the worst part. I noticed every time he moved my foot it was uncomfortably close to his genitals. He crossed the line when every time he stood up to grab something, he made it plainly obvious to me he was rubbing up on my foot with his crotch. I was embarrassed and disgusted. I do not recommend this nail salon. The lady who gave me a manicure filed my nails so short it hurt, both the surface of the nail and the tip. She started shellac but scrapped it off to start over. I had her switch to regular nail polish due to time and a general distrust of her shellac/overall knowledge. Her technique of scrapping the surface of the nail left them scratched up and unsightly even under the nail polish. The next week I removed the nail polish to discover fungus starting to grow under my thumb nail which had been filed the shortest of all the nails. My general impression of the salon is dirty and disinterested. I am very disappointed with the manicurist's capabilities. read more

Fresh limes and oranges, awesome scrub, great massage, hot stones, and best of all...liner in the foot bath!!!!!! Very clean and sanitary! Also did a maniure that was wonderful! I have been to YSL Nails several times and have noticed a real decline in customer service. Today was my final visit. I will never go back. My mom, who is also a frequent customer, and I went for pedicures. Another customer ahead of us had apparently called and scheduled an appointment. The specific nail tech she requested was not there. My mom and I were given seats. After several minutes, a nail technician came and turned the water on but no bubbles. He left and was not seen for at least 15 minutes. He finally returned and started my pedicure. No one spoke to my mom. No one asked if we wanted a drink. In fact, it felt as if we were not welcome or wanted. The nail tech, only one, finished my pedicure and then proceeded to help my mom. During her pedicure, a female technician began talking to the male technician providing the nail service. It was such a strange experience. We will never go back. Nor will the customer before us. Three regular customers gone in one day. read more
