It is quiet and tranquil with a gorgeous view of Kootenay Lake. There is a BBQ which can be used by guests in the outdoor common dining area on the upper level. There is a small play area with swings and a tree house. Adirondack chairs are scattered around, mostly towards the direction of the lake. The suites are mostly 1 and 2 bedrooms and they are spacious, with a living room (sofa bed) and small kitchen. The rooms are clean and each one have a different look. It is definitely not a cookie cutter, nondescript room. It is family run and the owners are friendly and ready with suggestions on dining places and activities. It is just 10-15 minutes drive away from downtown Nelson, so it is quite convenient to get around. It is also near Ainsworth Hot Springs and Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park. I will stay here again if I am ever in Nelson.

You can take a short walk to the water and relax on the beach. The morning breakfast made by the owner, was outstanding. The muffins and fruits and eggs and cereal and more! Wow! Thank you so much for an awesome stay. We will be back for sure!

Gave us restaurant coupons and a key with covid instruction for room service and walking through the halls and foyer. This hotel is lakeside view with a nice walking path and beautiful mountain view. Our room was spacious as well as very clean and stocked with a nice walkout patio with chairs or loungers to sit on, to enjoy the view. The attached restaurant Port701 just reopened in June 2020 with a new chef and servers. We used our coupons the times we were there. Breakfast was wonderful, Dinners fantastic. Really enjoyed our meals and service while we stayed at the hotel. Plenty of parking with a required pass when you check in. Everything is walking distance, uphill both ways. We had exercise whether we like it or not with all the walking we did. We enjoyed our stay that when we return on our next vacation we will definitely stay here again.

All the rooms on the lake view side have balconies or patios with lounge chairs and tables. The rooms are nicely appointed with comfy beds, modernized washrooms and they are sound insulated. Case in point: the room across the hall was blaring Brooks and Dunn, and while it could be heard in the hall, it was undetectable in our room. The on-site restaurant was delicious for breakfast and if you waive housekeeping during your stay, you get a $10 credit for the restaurant. We also tried the coffee shop, and that's a nice stop before walking to the business district or catching the trolley that stops nearby. Finally I also visited the on-site spa. While it's a small spa, my massage and mini facial were really relaxing and enjoyable.

It's such a great place to sit and pray or meditate. The restaurant was delicious as well, although a bit spendy. I will absolutely keep Ainsworth on my list for future adventures!

Sometimes it's hard to see people in the caves and I actually thought this guy was a statue. The main pool feels like Luke warm water and the cold plunge is only big enough for maybe 4 people at a time. The caves are really the most desirable place to be if you like it hot. This place was overall much smaller than I expected though. We soaked for over and hour or so and then got ready for our dinner reservations and dinner was really great! It was about $150 for four of us to eat up there in USD. We grabbed some ice cream bars from downstairs as well for dessert. I liked this place and one night was enough. We arrived around 4:30pm, had dinner at 7pm and were in bed by 9pm. The next morning was a soak and then get ready and go. Great trip and lovely customer service.
