She knows how to turn a junior golfer's mindset around and offer reasonable swing tweaks. For example, she reminds my child to walk at a putter swing tempo as he approaches the green to mark his ball position, a mind-body reminder to control breathing and pace his stream of golf thoughts. She talks to him about the importance of honors and holding onto it, as a budding golfer learning to focus and actively remove distractions. Her impact is evident in my child's improved temperament, scores, and enthusiasm. Coach Kathleen has supported her junior golfers as young as four years old through college graduation. She created a community for high school and college golfers to return to run her camps. My child looks up to these role models and absolute leaders, which is Coach Kathleen's intentional platform to lift all her juniors. She lights up when discussing how many female golfers she encourages into the LPGA*USGA Girls Golf eLeader program. She beams when her juniors humbly brag about their wins. She is a fixture at Lake Chabot Golf Course; my husband and I call her the mayor because everyone seems to know her. She says "Tennis with Coach Sammy is SOOO fun!" In the hour lesson Coach Sammy keeps students focused and engaged with fun practice games and switching between skills and activities (rallies, serving, footwork, etc). His coaching style is extremely effective and the lessons are truly worth every penny and more. He uses every minute of the lesson effectively and jam packs the hour with instruction, practice and skill building games. My daughter is tired in the best possible way by the end! Coach Sammy is kind, knowledgeable and flexible and adapts his teaching and lesson to each student. Most importantly, Coach Sammy is incredibly patient which is necessary when working with young learners. It is a great community pool where the kids can come and join their friends and have a good time. It even has a separate, smaller (though good sized!) pool for younger ones. They have adult swim every hour. My grandkids love this place, and so do I. One of the lifeguards became their babysitter! They also give you 30 free guest passes per year! Try it out!

When it was time for post season, we immediately paid the fees for the post season/nationals a month before it was scheduled to start. When it turned out that our team would not be able to do post-season due to other team members' unavailability for the summer the business would not refund what we paid. They offered a temporary position on another team which we didn't want. We just wanted a refund for the fees for something that we did not receive. Other families who hadn't paid yet weren't required to pay, but because we had already paid, they somehow thought we did not need to be treated equally. They continually denied a refund. Lesson learned, it will cost you a thousand dollars to be prompt, in the future don't pay until the very last minute.

During my membership, the club was dealing with a wall/fence dispute involving a neighboring property and assessed members an additional legal fee related to that matter. When I cancelled, that fee was deducted from my refundable membership deposit. The club later pointed to bylaw language allowing legal-counsel-related fees to be assessed without a member vote, which may be permitted under their rules, but I found the overall handling and communication disappointing. In my view, prospective members should understand that membership may involve additional assessments beyond the regular dues, including legal-fee assessments, and should ask for the current bylaws and any pending assessment information before signing up.

The club has a large pool, jacuzzi, tennis / pickleball courts, tables that are first come first served in shade, patches of grass where you could lay your towel out, and areas where you could reserve -- gazebo or BBQ areas. Overall, great place for those with kids. The place is very family oriented and seems like everyone who's there knows everyone. Great spot for birthday parties and other holiday celebrations. It's too bad that the marketplace that was within walking distance had that terrible fire accident. People have said that it was a go-to spot whenever they came to the club. Oh, and they allow for deliveries (aka pizza or outras comidas).

They always encourage the kids and updates parents with their performances. When my kids started their classes, they have zero experience and interest in musical instruments. By the 7th week, I'm surprised to see them reading notes and playing their instruments in their own accord. To our astonishment, they now spend their break time with their instruments other than with their digital devices. Overall, the staff and facility are excellent. Ms Ely and Ms Cynthia are very helpful and accommodating. I definitely recommend this music school to friends and family.
