I used to come to this pool before the renovation. I can hardly remember what it used to look like because it's just so beautiful now. The locker room, restrooms, showers, everything is new and clean! We now go for recreational swimming during the week and my kids always have a great time! My experience with the staff has been good so far.

Very nice neighborhood pool. Only cost 5 bucks per entry. Very small but perfect for our charming neighborhood.

While I can't in good faith give them back a full 5-star review, I have to say that the damage control support was greatly appreciated. We were personally reached out to by their regional manager to see how they could support us through our frustrations and went ABOVE AND BEYOND :) to make sure our kiddo got the support he needed at his next class and applause applause he finally leveled up. And not because of several customer service complaints and the barrage of Yelp reviews, but because he really was ready to level up and just needed the supportive environment to make it happen. Some pro tips for future or current parents of swimmers: 1) Call customer service any time; they truly do take all of your feedback seriously. 2) Familiarize yourself with the online portal, it is actually really convenient to use when it comes to scheduling. 3) You CAN request a swim manager come shadow your instructor in your child's class if you feel like they need more support! It was the game changer for us. 4) Learn about who all the instructors are if yours is ever called out sick, there are others you can try to schedule with to makeup for it. I wish I was given this information when we started like two-ish years ago but I guess better late than never. My kid is so proud of himself for finally getting his next ribbon and he said he thinks he can easily get to the next level now -- and this is coming from someone who was terrified for the first year!

First, the swim school offers many swim packages from private to semi private lessons and how you chose to pay, whether through class packages or recurring monthly payments. It's easy to schedule classes and also make them up. They have plenty of instructors that are skilled and fun ! They have a swim lane at the city sports club and it's ample enough space to run multiple lessons at a time. The lesson times are very flexible as well, as early as 8am to 7pm, depending on your instructor's schedule. Edgar has worked nonstop with my son and he has moved up two levels already in the past year. I highly recommend this location and their goal of teaching a lifelong skill.

While I wasn't afraid of pools or the ocean, I'd drown if I found myself in deep water without a life vest. I decided to finally take the plunge and learn in my 30s, and I'm so glad I found Woody! At the time, she was offering lessons in Oakland, and I chose her because it was in my neighborhood. Although the 1:1 lessons were a bit pricey for my budget at the time, they were worth it! After a few months of lessons, I was able to get past the mental barrier I had around deep water and finally learned how to tread water. Beyond that, Woody equipped me with numerous skills and techniques to feel confident and comfortable in the water. Let me tell you, learning to swim as an adult is no easy feat, but having a fantastic instructor makes all the difference. I highly recommend Woody for swim lessons! Thank you, Woody!

We wanted the peace of mind that she knew how to swim so we joined the wait list and started as soon as we could. We told her it is a life lesson and she had to do it and thankfully she agreed. Our daughter isn't quick to trust or warm up. I was a little concerned that the teachers wouldn't respect her shyness That was not the case at all. The coaches are all respectful, kind and professional. Now she knows how to swim and more! The picture is of her learning to dive! My husband started taking lessons too because he was inspired to improve his swim technique. Both really enjoyed swimming with the coaches and learned a lot. We highly recommend Woodys swim school!

Our children have a fear of water on their faces and are super sensitive, but our instructors kindly got them over that fear. Coach Gabe in particular has been so patient with my son, and he has really grown into a confident swimmer in just 3 months! He went from screaming when water touched his face to dunking his head and holding his breath underwater. Their tadpole program is great too for babies and toddlers, although my daughter is not progressing as quickly since she doesn't get 1:1 attention from an instructor. In regard to Lap Swimming…read more Hours are pretty flexible. About twenty lanes with the first part of the pool set for those who water walk and about 16 to 17 lanes to lap swim. Depending on the time of the day, some lanes close, for water classes. Be weary, if you go first thing when they open at 6am, and also when they reopen at 4pm or 5pm. There are groups of people that call themselves "The Regulars". A few of them like to put kickboards on open lanes to save for people in line behind you. Sometimes, if there is a long line on a hot summer day. A "Regular" might show up and just cut to the front of the line outside with another "regular" who is there already. Some of these people can be rude and really like their specific lane. And will throw a fit if you happen to take their lane. Some of these "regulars" will even lie and come up with a sob story for you about their past injuries, just to get a specific lane. The staff have not really monitored/enforced certain rules in the past. Hopefully that changes. You have been warned. The "regulars" are nice, as long as you don't get their lane or get in line ahead of them. Some will even show up 1 to 3 hours before the pool opens in the morning and afternoon in order to get their lane. They mean business and can be cutthroat. The place has a lot of potential. Cosmetic wise, it's what you'd expect of a facility that's almost a 100 years old.

Great hours for toddler swim, 11am to 1pm Monday thru Friday and 5 to 7pm Tues, Thursday, Friday. There is also rec swim kn Saturday from 1:30 to 3:30pm. The toddler pool is great for toddlers to get used to the water and there is a depth gradient that will allow them to explore and eventually try to swim. There are also toys provided by the staff for the little ones to play with in the pool. The staff here have always been very nice to us and you can tell that the lifeguards on shift take their jobs seriously. Yes, the facility is almost 100 years old and does show its age, but for $5 total for a baby and an adult as well as the super flexible hours? You just can't beat that deal.
