It's amazing that a $50K helicopter transport to John Muir cost me nothing, yet an ambulance ride is $3000. But thank you to Gavin Newsom for passing the new law, effective January 1st, that bans these surprise ambulance bills. After the introduction at the firehouse, I heard a voice, say" Hey dad, a new fire houses had dalmatians for a mascot. I didn't know that this one had a Dawna for one. Needless to say, this was our first encounter. in the beginning of our love story. after marrying this past September 2022. we went back to the firehouse to ask if we can take some photos of us and the firetrucks. Unfortunately, I did not jot down the two fireman's names . They told us how much they loved our love story. Joked around with us and we're extremely pleasant. They were so obliging. they opened up the firehouse garage doors and offered to take the pictures of us in front of the fire engines. the pictures turned out beautiful. Tucker is a very well loved dog and our family truly appreciates everything you did to take care of him until we found him. He was discovered missing from our home on Wednesday morning around 8:15; prime traffic time on Grant Avenue...someone left the door open! We searched for him for 3 hours until finally notifying animal control. Yvette from Animal Control matched the description immediately (older dog wandering with a cone on his head.) He was located at the Fire Station in San Lorenzo. What a relief to find him safe and well taken care of!!! Thank you Station 22! And thank you to the stranger who notified the Fire Dept. The county public works are horrible. It was a nightmare to get ADU planning through the planning…read moredepartment. The city inspectors bang their chest and are rude. For one inspection they decided to call last minute and cancel. Then we had this older rude inspector named Arnold Gee. He is the rudest inspector I have ever dealt with. I have been a contractor for over 25 years. He takes the title. First of all, he is always rude and barking at you. My worker asked him a question nicely and he went off on him and said you should know that. The problem is that Alameda County has higher expectations than the California code. He wanted sand under the pipe. Which is no problem. My worker just asked how much. Then he just went off and left. Then it took him 3 days to write a simple correction notice. When we called again; he saw no sand and went off and yelled this inspection is over. When I asked for clarification or to show us the code he is talking about. He said he will send it. Right after that, I went down to public works. The receptionist was nice. She could not help me much. I tried to talk to the head inspector and he was not available. This is a disaster. I have had open trenches for over a week now. Since no one in the county wants to show their code. Inspector called my office and got into it with my office manager. What a mess.

I live on the channel in Alameda looking at the old Owens Illinois glass factory. This is the Alameda Avenue in Oakland side of the channel. We have had ongoing issues with transient population in this area and recently we had a 40 foot stretch of trash left right in my site line across the channel. I called them yesterday to see if they could get a crew out to clean it up. There are seven guys with a dumpster and it's gone. We have called a couple of other times and they have been very quick to respond then as well. Thank you so much.
