A couple years back a…read morecrazy angry driver crashed into me, and I had a witness pull over with me so the 3 of us talked to SRPD. The angry man was of middle eastern descent (surname Ali), and the witness was a Chinese man, and I am 80% Chinese. Ironically, Mr Ali yelled at us right off the bat to "go back to our own country", even though he's a minority as well and I was born in Hayward, California. Anyway, that's beside the point. When the police showed up, 2 officers from San Ramon Police Department, Mr Ali claimed that the other Chinese man and I were related and knew each other and that was why we were both against him, when in reality it was just a random guy that witnessed his reckless driving that caused an accident. We were in 3 separate cars and have different last names and everything. 3 total strangers. Because of this racist assumption, the insurance companies ruled it a no fault collision even though it was obviously at fault. This forced me to pay a few thousand dollars for repairs with no compensation (insurance covered damages for 10k+ but I had to pay the deductible and other fees) due to this implicit bias by both the subject in question, but more importantly, the officers who took our report and contact information and stuff. I hope they get better with this whole "justice" thing. Of course this is purely anecdotal based on a total of one interaction I've had with this department in my life (I've lived in San Ramon since 2004), but I'm sure they can do better, or perhaps, be better.

I utilized this service in July for my job and an officer assisted me. Yesterday, I went again to get Level 3 clearance with the district. I was pleasantly surprised that early this morning I received an email that everything was approved. I have been a volunteer for 5 years with the district so not sure if that helped with the expedited process/approval. Well, I am sure it did. Therefore, kudos for a quick and seamless process SRPD, SRVUSD, and BAM.

My Favorite Town on the East Bay!…read more There are a lot of great places in the San Francisco Bay area, but Danville might be my favorite. There are a ton of shops and little cafes that you can patronize on a warm spring afternoon. It's a lot of fun to just walk around downtown and check out the various shops, or get an ice cream. The public library is large and modern, so that's an option as well. Overall, it's just a charming place to visit. Of course, not as nice as my hometown Dublin, but pretty close.

The street as I was driving in had a big tree that split the roadway. Reminded me of the neighborhoods of Los Altos Hills. Then there was your quaint downtown. Filled with small shops to national tenants. Even your Starbucks was a little different than the rest. I walked around peering and taking you in while rain drops fell on my head. You have some restaurants I would love to come back and get my tongue on. And before I left, you even gave me hail on my head. Boy do I love you, and I will recommend you to my friends. When on the 680, and have some time. Stop by, walk around, even walk on the Iron Horse Trail that runs through town. Hopefully it is sunny out, but either way you will be content that you stopped in.

Beautiful space, plenty of restaurants, a brewery (Fieldworks), etc. Atmosphere - See above. 18.72 square miles, 0.03 of which is water. 2020 census population of 84.6k. Largest employers are - PG&E, Chevron (I believe they are moving, if they have not moved already), Robert Half International, BMO Bank, etc. Service - Good, they cater to a slightly more affluent customer. It also depends on what you do, eat, or drink. Price - Reasonable. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1983.

If your tired living on edge and tired of crime - and thats your priority - there is no better place to live. If your raising a family I would send you here. Problem is its expensive - and often times its cheaper to move to another state than deal with the rent or mortgage prices here. Restaurants lack. I think they are mostly chains. Interesting stores lack. Few mom and pop type places the way Berkeley might have. Lacks personality and hot in the summer. I was just here today and I was looking for shady spots to sit during a 10,000 step walk I was doing in 80 degree weather.

Everything is mostly downstairs, but upstairs they have a section for teens. My children are younger, so we were in the kids section mostly. They currently have some fun reading summer challenges. Really sizeable, spacious park that has lots of fields to host sporting events. I'm not just reviewing this place on a recent, pleasant dog walk (which is a great place to do and they have doggie fountains here as well). No... my roots go way deeper here. Growing up in the area before there was the large Target and City Lot nearby, before the local government offices, this park is where me and a close knit group of friends would go every night. We weren't causing any trouble. We just didn't really have anywhere else to go, but we all looked forward to hanging out most nights, especially during the summers. We would skate in the parking lot or possible play basketball (they had a few full courts where the offices are built now). At one point a few of my friends worked with the city to help design and build out the skate park (I see there names on the plaque to this day in late 2025). I remember my friends putting on and being part of small music fests that was held in the amphitheater area. I even remember working some events held at the event building on the south side of the park. Just a great park with lots of parking, events schedules, and just every day things to do. Lot of personal memories as well.

PASSPORT SERVICES: Made an appointment for passport renewal…read more& showed up with all paperwork ready to go (pics, birth certificates, ids, checks, application, blood work --JK..I had it all. I was greeted by receptionist (no smiles just a "hello" and asked to take a seat (we arrived 30 min early to our appointment). A few minutes later the passport processor called us into her office. No greetings, just looked at me through the glass & I guess assumed I'd just know to give her all the paperwork. I did. She looked at all of it, started the process & was silent.. except when she had a few short questions. It was extremely awkward & it felt like going to DMV where they're not necessarily mean but not at all friendly. NOTE: THEY DO NOT TAKE PASSPORT PICS HERE.

San Ramon, you're growing up! How about a bright, shiny and new city hall to get the party…read morestarted? Yes, please. After living in San Ramon for almost 9 years, I was fairly unimpressed with the old City Hall digs in a nearby business park and was very happy to hear that my well-run city was going to get itself a new place to call home. So, how did it turn out? Well, I think it's beautiful! I love the rotunda (the round portion of the building with lots of glass and a shiny floor), it's grandiose and a perfect showpiece for the city. It's clear that the building was built using the latest in environmental and technological bells 'n whistles, which add to it's splendor. I happened to visit the NEW city hall for a trip to their passport office and was very pleased with the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Congrats San Ramon, you've successfully built yourself something to be proud of - a lovely new City Hall. 5 stars.

Officer Gabriel Williams, who was off duty at the time, collided with my mother's vehicle and…read moreproceeded to behave in an aggressive, disrespectful, and deeply inappropriate manner. He used racially charged and vulgar language toward her, repeatedly called her "stupid," and referred to her using profane and derogatory terms, including the "B-word." He assumed she was driving illegally without any basis and attempted to intimidate her by loudly identifying himself as a police officer, clapping his hands aggressively, and escalating the situation. A woman who identified herself as his girlfriend and who stated she was also an officer from Danville who was also off duty, arrived on the scene and was witnessed telling Officer Williams to calm down due to his erratic behavior. They both later provided false information to CHP about who was at fault for the accident. After researching we could only find her last name has the letters BAN in it. This kind of conduct is unacceptable, especially from someone entrusted with upholding the law. Officer Williams' actions were not only unprofessional but dangerous and discriminatory. Behavior like this undermines public trust and raises serious concerns about his fitness to serve as a law enforcement officer

On the plus side, neither the one being feted nor many of the guests will mandate a party that runs more than a couple of hours and you can bet those hours will be daylight. Enter the Danville Community Center, where a close friend hosted a party for her mother's 90th. This is not the sort of space where food or drink is provided. If you want that you'll arrange for it separately, just as my friend did. She also self-managed a slide show, music, and a couple of group dances. The whole affair was perfect and the spacious, high-ceilinged room (with free on-site parking) was nicer than possibly any community center I've ever been to. While I'd not suggest the Danville Community Center to those who don't live in the East Bay if you do, and you're seeking an event venue, it is quite worth checking it out. Perhaps it might even inspire you to host an event.
