When I become a first-time dog owner soon, naturally this will be my dog's vet! I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. The practice is a holistic one and Dr. Crowley is also a homeopath. If she's not available, I see Dr. Ricketts, who's great as well. I've been coming here for about 10 years. When Ms. Leo-Kitty got slapped with the hopeless "chronic renal failure" diagnosis, I refused to give up, and sought out a practice that considered the ENTIRE animal, just as I do with myself, and expect from my personal health care practitioners. I received a huge awakening with regard to nutrition, on-the-spot moving from dry to wet food, a HUGE contributor to this somewhat preventable illness!!!!! WHO KNEW? My previous vet had apprised me of nothing, sigh. She was nice enough but that's hardly sufficient when it comes to health CARE, which should be overwhelmingly preventative. Seeing Dr. Crowley yesterday, I have renewed vigor for doing my part in their dental care, another enormous area where prevention is key. I got some poultry-flavored toothpaste into one of them this morning, a first step. Yum. I just read in the most recent newsletter - she is an ardent EDUCATOR- that she considers herself a dental geek. I LOVE this, and can't wait until I earn being able to call myself a lay version of same. Yesterday we also discussed my adding a dog to my household. I didn't expect the conversation to be so extensive, but I should have; she's always so thorough and TAKES THE TIME. Now I know where I will adopt my likely pitbull, because the rescue she recommended, like her, considers all facets of the animal and "vets" them thoroughly. Ha ha. Our furbabies depend on us. You can depend on this entire practice for their holistic, loving, enthusiastic care, and for empowerment in upping your own game in pet parenthood.

In no other General Practice that I know of does one of the owners personally go in for a few hours every Sunday and take phone calls with questions from their clients and encourage them to come in even if the owner is stressed though they aren't even technically open! People here on Yelp I've noticed accuse many people in the vet industry that they are all about the money well you should all know all medical fields are incredibly expensive and in order to buy the products your pets need they need to make money as well. Oh if only we had such good health insurance for our pets (and there are some great pet insurances out there) as we do ourselves :)If you are looking for just cheap services rendered then you are not thinking of your pets best interest and should evaluate having a pet as it is like having another child. I have met all these doctors at some point or another and know that unlike other practices in the surrounding area ALL of them have nothing but good reputations in the inter-veterinary field and you want a doctor or doctors that have good reputations with other doctors and veterinary hospitals for the safety and benefits of your pets should your pet need to ever be transferred to an emergency or specialty hospital.

The next day Dr. Dyer told us that she would treat with antibiotics and supplements and assured us that puppies are resilient and that a liver can repair itself with appropriate treatment. I was told that my dog needed blood work for her Addison's disease as a precautionary measure. Understandable. The cost of this bloodwork is close to $500 and until I can come up with that they will not give my dog her injection. My dog is a week out from getting her shot. The vet has cut off her medicine supply that I use and now my dog will get extremely sick in a week unless I come up with the $500 plus her injection for another $100. It's more important for this vet to make money than to care for animals. I will never go back to this place.

One of our shepherd lab mix had an end of life stroke (Dec '24) and the other shepherd hound mix had a debilitating cancer and lost key functions. (Feb '25). We were supported in our final decisions by the team at Bassler including Dr. Bassler herself. For anyone who has been through it, it is difficult to lose a part of your family. That said, I'd recommend Bassler. They are compassionate explaining the process. They have a dedicated room. They have a facility they work with for options and cremation, urns etc. Cost is around 300 for the procedure at the hospital and another 300 if you want to have the 3rd party do the arrangements for you. We did the free items they offered without additional cost. A basic box for ashes and paw print. You can spend a lot more if you choose for name plates and urns etc. For awareness, the Bassler group were very supportive and accommodating but they are not a 24 hour facility so plan accordingly. A few days later, we received a nice handwritten card from Dr Bassler that was signed by the whole staff who worked that day. None of it is easy or ok but Dr Bassler did the best for us in a difficult time. Obviously we stand by them as we used them twice. Best of luck.

It reminds me of that old phrase "No good deed goes unpunished". I couldn't believe how they speak to people when i was walking by one of their events. It seems like they go after people with mental conditions; special needs; disabilities to volunteer so they can take total advantage of them at every turn. I purchased some jewelry and the woman was yelling and screaming at the girl next to her. That was enough to turn me off right then and there. I put the jewelry back and left. I also went to one of their adoption events a few years back and heard a woman yelling and screaming when i was down the hall. Why would anyone put up with that kind of treatment i don't know. I am not a fan of this organization at all.
