I love petco but I don't know if they train cats? Because I want my furry friend to travel with me!

I placed a curbside order at this store. I notified them on the app I was on my way, and then I checked in on the app when I arrived. After waiting 28 minutes and using the app three times to notify them I was still waiting, I went inside. I was told that the app doesn't notify the store of anything and that I was supposed to have called them. First of all, it worked the first time I placed an online order at this store, second, the level of disdain that this was said with was ridiculous! Even when the store is empty the staff can't be bothered. Moving all of my purchases to a local store instead. read more

Less we forget these folks were open during height of the pandemic to serve our furry family members. They've been incredibly short staffed like so many other retail stores. Cut them slack and appreciate how hard they work. read more

I tried calling this place for info and it rang for at least 20x's no answer, called back and tried grooming, again no answer. So much for customer service. I'll take my Business elsewhere read more

This is one of the messier Petco stores. It could use a thorough cleaning and items picked up off of the floor and put back where they belong. Every time I go in I'm floored by the mess. I went in recently for their photo with Santa. What a mess. It was lame and they shouldn't have charged for it (even if it was a donation). No real line, Santa was not only late but didn't even try to look the part. Clearly a disinterested young store employee that got roped into it. The volunteers from Cape Ann Animal Aid were nice - maybe they should have organized this and not the store. The photo was not very good. They had a seat for an elf next to Santa that was never filled but was in the shot so you got a shot that wasn't centered at all. Poor quality. I'm glad this is not my local store and I only go when visiting my mother. Poor location. read more

Hi I brought my 9 year old Pekingese to have him groomed which he only gets done two times a year ( he prefers his hair be left alone!) that being said he's not the easiest dog to deal with. So I just want to say they did a great job with him. They didn't cut too much hair off and he was happy! Plus it was reasonably priced. All in all it was a happy experience for both Winter and myself and the groomer still had all her fingers! thank you Petco read more

Never again! After receiving 4 text messages reminding us of our grooming appt, the last one coming 10 minutes before our time slot, we drove to Petco to drop off our dog only to find signs on the door (at 10am on a Sunday) stating that the groomer has a "family emergency" and that the store won't open until noon, not at 8am as scheduled. So you can go into the store, create a sign to tell your paying customers that all grooming appts are canceled but you don't take the time to send out a courtesy call to inform us? Who does business like that? Also, this was the FOURTH time this groomer had called in sick! Totally unprofessional and poorly managed. Hopefully Linked In will carry an ad for a manager position along with the groomer ad. If not, this ship has sunk. Never again. read more

I like this place, but can you guys please sell your Betta fish in those bowls you sell there. Also Betta fish are tropical freshwater fish and require heated bowls or tanks, especially when the weather is cold. Please don't sell them in little cups anymore. Let them have a little more room to go around. I don't like seeing those beautiful fish in little cups. It makes me sad seeing them in such small spaces with no heaters. read more

How can a store run out of crickets! I drove from Rockport to Gloucester for crickets for my tree frogs but I was told they did not have any

I asked a question about leashes and the employee was so passive aggressive I could tell when she gets older she'll have a "let me speak with your manager" haircut. Everyone else was okay I guess, but this one lady was some kind of jerk. read more

My dog, Poochie, and I always get treated well at the Gloucester MA Petco, where we go for his monthly nail trims.

Don't assume that this place has better prices than Animal Crackers just because they are big box chain. I checked out their prices on cat food and Petco's prices were much higher. read more

Let me start out by saying Animal Crackers was so much better then this place. Petco has let me down a couple times so far with my pets I have bought from them. I personally dont think they take care of them.. at all. Two years ago I bought 2 baby bearded dragons (paid a lot) and i did everything petco told me to do.... not even two weeks later they died... And i took care of them and fed them and did everything i was suppose to do. I was very upset :'( The next pet I bought was a bunch of fish cause I had an aquarium. They also died... very soon later... I would rather go to Petsmart, cause Animal Crackers doesnt sell pets anymore due to Petco... read more

I just wanted to take the time to say how pleased I was with the grooming of our two cavalier King Charles doggies, Grady White and Hinckley. Bev was our groomer and she did a great job on them, even giving Hinckley two baths because he was so dirty! Both dogs had shiny soft coats, clipped nails, eyes and ears cleaned and the perfect trim leaving just enough feathers and grinch feet so they looked great. I highly recommend the groomers at Petco Gloucester. read more

I love the grooming staff here and would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. Kayla grooms my baby Teddy, and I wouldn't trust him with anyone else. I have been going to this location for years, and Kayla started grooming him about a year ago, and it was one of the best decisions I've made. She treats teddy as if he is her own dog. She's kind, sweet, tentative, and really takes her time to ensure teddy is comfortable and that his groom comes out exactly how I like. I wouldn't go anywhere else and I recommend the same to all my friends, family, and anyone else looking for a great groomer... go to Petco in Gloucester! read more

I thought Petco was great....I needed something that was cheaper from them on line and they let me know.......also I had my little dog groomed there by Tim who was wonderful and catered to her every need...what a wonderful find for a big chain store. this is a smaller petco and it's quite pricey. customer service is pretty good though. dog training, not so good - go elsewhere for that.

what a NIGHTMARE. Brought my dog to this location to get groomed and they ended up cutting his rear nail off completely causing him to pour out blood. we had to take him to the emergency room and when they gave us the news regarding our dog, the representative said "are you upset? You sound upset". Yeah no kidding lady. You just cut my dogs paw open. HORRIBLE service and, even worse so, EXTREMELY unprofessional.
