We went to Macy's and Nordstrom's to see if I could buy anything off the shelf.......nothing. I found Ole mason Jar Clothier online and walked the few blocks to their wonderful store. We were greeting by Brad and Filipe and explained my dilemma. Now think about this for a moment........I asked them at 11:00 am if there was any chance that I could buy a suit and just have the pants altered or pinned up for a wedding that was happening that day at 5:00 pm. The answer was "Yes, we can make that happen." I was shocked. Filipe asked what size I was and I answered a 46 regular........Brad looked at me and said put him in a 44 reg. It fit better than any suit I have ever owned. All of their clothes are their own brand and designed by them. Their material, stitching, and cut, were beautiful. I was measured and handed the suit back to Filipe. He bolted to the seamstress. My wife and I had lunch and the suit was ready in less that 2.5 hours. As one of my first experiences purchasing products from a business reopening during Covid I must tell you that it was such a grand experience. These guys represent EVERYTHING GREAT about business ownership. They cared about my situation, produce a fantastic product, and delivered with a huge smile. I am an OMJ lifer. Thanks Guys

After hesitation (because my hubster hates spending money) he agreed and we couldn't figure out where to go. We asked around and we were pointed in the direction of Abbeydale by two different people. And they were absolutely right. Their location is connected to the parking deck off of 4th street. It's by appointment only so make sure you set that up prior which we did. (Sidenote: they are moving locations so not sure how much longer they'll be on 4th street) We were blown away ..(again let me be I honest..I was blown away) at the options that David had. He took the time to ask what we were looking for, our story behind the vow renewal, where we were going and even asked what I envisioned for Hubs! He made the entire process easy and gave recommendations when we got stumped on style. We picked out everything from color and fabric to even the design that goes on the inside of the vest? Whaaaa?? So classy. I can't WAIT to see the finished product. My hubs is gonna kill it in his new digs. Such great customer service!!!

I used to work at a full line Nordstrom years ago, so I know quality when I see it. That's why I love the Rack because you can always expect good brands at better prices than you'd find at the full line store. To some people, Nordstrom Rack still feels a little pricey for a discount store, but you really have to compare it to the original full line price tags. I live in the NoDa area, and I will say this location was a bit farther out than I expected, about 25 minutes from my house. I was honestly surprised that there isn't a Nordstrom Rack closer to the city. This one is more on the outskirts, which is fine, but it does make quick trips or exchanges a little less convenient. Yes, you can return items at the full line Nordstrom, but sometimes you just want to browse and see what's new. Parking here was easy, and the store itself was clean and well organized. Coming from Houston and then Florida, I wasn't used to seeing so many coats in stock, so that actually caught my attention. They had a big winter selection, and I ended up leaving with a super cute trench coat, a puffer jacket, and a couple of other cold weather pieces since I know Charlotte winters are going to be colder. The staff was about as friendly as you'd expect at a Nordstrom Rack, but they moved quickly, and the checkout line wasn't long. Overall, this location was consistent with the other Nordstrom Racks I've been to. No surprises, just the usual dependable Rack experience. I'd definitely return.

The store was very well stocked and clean. You didn't see much on the ground from items knocked down. The items I found were priced very well. No complaints. There was so much variety here that you could spend a lot of time in this store. Upon checking out, I was greeted by a young lady. She asked me about opening a store credit card and I told her no thank you. Her demeanor changed, lol! Prior to Church, I had mentioned that I needed to pick up a new belt because the one I am currently wearing is beginning to fray. Never say this to a woman who has Kohl's Cash Coupons plus other Coupons because then they are in a feeding frenzy just like Sharks smelling blood. Original thought was to hit the Kohl's in Huntersville on the way back but she found out there was one close to the restaurant in Gastonia so I had little option. She had already been badgering me for my underwear size so she could get a new set so Kohl's was inevitable anyway. It's a well stocked store which is good but at the same time, they have cut back on the sales associates till it almost self serve. Heaven help you if you don't know where thing are located. Found the belts first and found a nice one with excellent quality and a good price. Bought it and may end up buying another in a slightly smaller size if I can hopefully loose a couple of pounds. Underwear was a bit more challenging because my size was not part of the primary display but on an end cap but found what was the right size. With the coupons and Kohl's Cash, it was a good saving overall. I personally thought the replacing the underwear to be low priority but apparently not to my wife. Not the next day but the day after, I went to dress and all of my old underwear had been discarded regardless of wear and had been replaced with the new. It's probably the nicest shop in the entire mall. Prices are in line with the Belk brand. Not cheap but not overly expensive either. Perhaps I should explain quickly that I'm talking about the women's store, TRCW as some call it. The original store specializes in swanky men's fashion. But the women's store is very upscale and impressive. The dresses are beautiful and flattering and the shoes are fantastic. The only down side is the price, it's a little rich for my blood. Maybe one day when I snag myself a dream job, or a rich man, whichever comes first.
