One of my fond memories was being in San Juan & I have met some wonderful people. Made so many new friends, who welcomed me with so much love & respect. One of the nicest person I met was one of the worker here who made my day by her presence! Thought me so much in 10 min & I have decided to take the ferry & visit Catano.

We arrived on a cruise and took the ferry so we could tour the Casa Bacardi. From the front entrance all the way to the return trip everyone was very friendly and super helpful guiding us. The shuttle times are very precise which is not normally seen in this type of industry. Both stations and the shuttles were very clean and comfortable. The price was only .50 per trip. I would recommend this shuttle even if you don't have any business across the bay. The views are fantastic !!

This ride was .50 one way 1.00 round trip. .25 for 60 and older and free of over the age of 70. It was a nice break from the sun to relax on the ferry as we made our way from San Juan to Catano. Even if you don't want to visit Catano I would say this is a great break from the day activities to just relax and take in the sites and enjoy the breeze coming off the water.

I'm on a boat! Only .50 cents a ride. Now that is a great deal to get across the water. You get to take in some nice scenery on the roughly 15 minute boat ride across from Old San Juan. We used this transport to bring us to Catano to Casa Bacardi for a tour and some rum drinks! As it was also the San Sebastian Street Festival the days we were here there were big parties happening on both sides. After we were done, and properly buzzed at the Bacardi factory, we went to head back and saw that there was a massive crowd waiting to get on the ferry. What was so impressive is how the staff here was so organized, and had us set up in seating areas in the indoor waiting area with music and fun competitive cheering going on. They then had a huge barge-like ferry show up within a few minutes and got all of us on that thing, Wow. The crowd was so cheery and respectful, and boarded the boat quickly and with no problems at all. They even had police on the boat to keep order, and did a muster drill. Can't beat this kind of service. The ferry boats themselves are a bit worn and not all that fancy, but gets the job done. Hey, for 50 cents a trip it's all good!

*** Hey, this ferry is a lil ghetto but it's only $0.50. (lol) *** It gets you from Point A to Point B in 5min, so it's a keeper. *** Runs every 30min or so. I didn't wait very long at all. ***

    Plenty of seating.

The only reason to hop this ferry as a tourist is to get from Old San Juan to the Bacardi distillery.

Oh NO you di'int! AMA! I KNOW you didn't make me miss the CTA!* That is UNFORGIVABLE!! O, the…read moretriflingness. Seriously. The CTA is a farm team compared to the major league triflingness of the AMA. What is it about public transit that makes the workers and managers adopt a 'I don't give a damn; I'm taking a break' attitude? It's universal!! I get that I am on island time in Puerto Rico. I get that I should relax, breathe in and enjoy the moment. I get that 'things move a little slower.' But, for real for real? I am pretty sure that automotive engineering works the same throughout the world: step on the pedal and go! Move it! Waiting for/taking the AMA I: -witnessed FOUR of the same bus number pull into the depot at the same time. The next bus pulled out 42 minutes later (30 minutes off schedule); -experienced the bus pass up a stop with a father and little boy late at night. When the bus passed them (and my party) up, the little boy burst into tears wondering why the bus would do that [side note: I don't recall being that angry in a long time; making little kids cry... unbelievable]; -lived through the bus drive into oncoming traffic... like, a lane... on a highway (complete with screams from inside the bus); -scowled at bus bunching that would make Ron Huberman and Rich Rodriguez weep with pride; -arrived late for nearly every appointment I had courtesy of public transit (no matter how early I left to beat the system); and -became broke for having to pay $15-$18 a pop (another review in and of itself) for taxis. Tourism is one of your major industries, San Juan. Fix your public transit. I feel badly for those who _have_ to rely on it to get to/from work. *I may have missed it, but I still hate it. 4eva.
