The way…read morethe owner is attempting to censor me should be extremely telling.  I still think about this horrible experience every time I'm in Malibu, which is almost weekly. I went to another business in the plaza well after Zuma Jay's had already closed. The parking lot is extremely small and spaces are limited, so I ended up parked in a spot directly in front of his shop. I had a friend with me who stayed in the car, and I left it running because I was only going to be gone for no more than five minutes. I was upstairs in the other business for no more than 90 seconds when the owner stormed into someone else's establishment looking for me, yelling at me to turn my car off because it was blowing exhaust into his shop. And I say this because it is relevant, I drive a brand new, well maintained, luxury vehicle that does not just sit there emitting fumes like that. If his concerns were valid (they weren't) there were so many other ways this could have been handled. His shop was already closed. He could have simply closed his door, waited, or calmly approached me when I came back. Instead, he chose to come into another business and aggressively attack me.  When I finished my business and walked downstairs, I saw him trying to yell at my friend, who was still sitting in the car. She didn't engage with him because she genuinely thought he was a crazy homeless man harassing her. This interaction was completely unacceptable and left a lasting impression. I would stay away from this place and spend your money at a more respectful establishment that knows how to treat people professionally.

They have upscale varieties of expected souvenir shop items - candles, magnets, postcards, stickers, apparel - as well as sage, body care products, sports equipment (tennis and surfing), and children's gifts (clothes, body products, books). There are dishes, blankets, and gourmet foodstuffs like local wine, jams, and mustards, as well as a caviar fridge with tins of good caviar, lovely pearl spoons, and recipe books. While the prices are high, so is the quality of the merchandise. This is the spot to find a special gift for a loved one, either an out-of-towner or a local - or yourself.

I know they are imported from France or someplace like that but still. I wonder if they ever sell one. They have candles that smell amazing, cute beach wear, wooden toys, lots of souvenirs. There's not much more I can say that hasn't already been said…read more Dave organized my party (a group of six twenty-something year olds) to explore and paddleboard on the Malibu seas for my 23rd birthday. We met up in the early morning in Marina Del Rey and promptly got on his boat, which was SUPER comfortable - like a living room on the seas. Dave allowed us to bring food and drink (and draaank :P) and even provided us with a cooler & ice. Not only that, but when we realized we neglected to bring cups to hold our mimosas in, Dave had extra on his boat - now that's what I call amazing service! On our trip, we ran into a school of dolphins and my group was positively ECSTATIC. Later, we paddleboarded in an area of open water. Throughout the whole thing, Dave was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, and most importantly, extremely chill to be around. My friends and I don't exactly do this often, but we're so glad we did! To anyone who is hesitant about learning how to paddleboard or isn't very familiar with the ocean in general, I would STRONGLY recommend planning a trip with Dave. I can say that walking off of his boat, I felt like I had learned a lot and my friends agreed! Thanks for a memorable 23rd birthday, Dave!

The boat was prepared for us, with clean blankets and cushions so we could lounge and sit out front on the "trampoline". A wonderful day for everybody included paddle boarding with sea lions, impromptu "stand-up on a paddle board" lessons, an education on marine wildlife, and relaxing on the ocean and all this before 930am! Our main focus was to get back into enhancing basic surfing techniques (it's been a year since I've boarded) and I can't wait for more lessons - I learned so much in the two and a half hours with Cory!! It's only been 8 hours of surfing and I'm already standing up and riding every wave. How awesome!! He's encouraging, funny, and has great energy! The very first lesson was at a quite beach in OB. Cory taught me proper pop-up technique, weight distribution, watching the tides, water safety, and so much more! He was in the water (without his board, just me on a board) with me the entire time and helped me to get the proper technique and form good habits. He starts off teaching on a foam longboard, which is more buoyant and softer. He offers his knowledge in buying wetsuits, surfboards, leashes, wax, and everything else! He also sells lessons in packages (multiple lessons at a discounted rate) which I highly recommend!

I have several trips coming up and I wanted to update my Vuori collection. For most of the time, I was the only customer in the store. There were 3-4 sales people (young men and women) who stood huddled at the counter talking and playing on their phones. I was left to find sizes and styles. Eventually one young lady came over to help me. But the others stood there like it was social hour, not work. She never checked on me when I tried on clothes, and all I could hear from the dressing room was the endless chit chat. It was not a positive experience. I'm sure I would have purchased more than 2 tops had there been better customer service. Management needs to train these workers how to work.
