They have a list of combos that are huge portions for at least 2-3 meals? My husband got the fried catfish with choice of 3 sides & I got the 3 wings with 3 sides combo. The catfish was moist on the inside & light & crisp with a cornmeal crust on the outside. 2 big filets in his combo with 3 sides, he chose Mac & cheese, collard greens with turkey neck meat(no pork) & candied yams...all so tasty & huge portions. The special today was chicken etouffee served on a bed of white rice for $13! The gravy was rich & flavorful, the chicken was tender. So tasty...they also have a combo with BBQ ribs that are so tender the meat falls off the bone clean! All combos also come with a square slice of cornbread. Their cornbread is more cake like & sweet style. The owner Kenny is nice & hospitable, attentive always making sure everything is ok. I was too full for Dole Whip today but they had original pineapple flavor & watermelon as well...the 2nd flavor changes periodically but they always have pineapple. Soulfood Sunday is always the last Sunday of the month but they always have wings, catfish, grilled sandwiches & more on the daily & they even have a tables & chairs as well as a high counter seating along the window. Stop by for some hearty tasty eats! The store side of the shop has some really great products...way better than any corner store you've stepped foot in, very nice shop. Over the course of the six months that I have been a subscriber, I've only had about five or six meals that I didn't personally care for, and that wasn't because they weren't good, just my own personal preference. Lunch is always a delicious salad of some form (with a protein), and twice a week lunch also comes with a delicious soup. Their dressings are always so yummy, and you'd never guess they are dairy free! The dinners are SO good! I'd pick a favorite, but honestly, there have been too many to name here. Additionally, there is enough variety and variance in their menu that I've never felt bored with my meals, even after six months. I love that their packaging is 100% compostable, even the stickers they use! Another bonus is that they reuse the bags and ice packs they deliver your food in. On the days that I have a food delivery from them, I simply set the previous order's bag and ice packs outside, and they take it with them after dropping off my new order. I really love this. I have used other services in the past, but I hated all of the waste from the weekly packaging and trying to dispose of the used ice packs. I should also mention that deliveries come twice a week, so your food is always extremely fresh, and the handful of rotating delivery drivers they use are all incredibly friendly and professional. Pricing wise, I actually spend less than I do at the grocery store. I think this is because when I'm at the grocery store, I'm often tempted by all of the snacks and goodies in front of my eyes, and end up putting way more in my basket than I actually need. Showed up with two guys who couldn't even lift the thing off their truck. The guys told me someone would call me shortly. Surprise surprise, no one did and I had to reach out via email. They told me I never told them the number of steps in my house so really it was my fault they didn't send a sufficient work force and marked my delivery as complete--reporting I'd rejected it. Unprofessional and incompetent doesn't begin to cover it.
