I cannot thank Catered Productions enough for their advice and support in planning a pig roast party. I had to arrange all this from out of town being away unexpectedly for a month until literally the night before my event and had no worries whatsoever. We just held it last weekend and it was a smash. Mitchie and Wan were so accessible and had great suggestions for the menu within my budget, for timing and with all details. Raphael and Isidoro, who were on site the whole event, were fantastic from set up to tear down, keeping things full and fresh, including presentation with tablecloths and flowers on the buffet, and even helping to wrap things and relocate food indoors when the rain started later. We had many, many compliments on the quality and flavor of the food from the main courses to the potato salad and corn sides, cookies and even the trimmings--cherry tomatoes so sweet, pepperoncinis with right bite, and, oh, the pork! We just had a pulled pork and baked potato bar for a party of 90. I ordered for 100. Everyone loved the food! We had about 25 potatoes left over and 1/4 of the two heaping pans of pulled pork (perhaps due to 10 vegetarians in our crowd) because we all thought the pulled pork tasted great. They delivered and set up in about 10-15 minutes. We didn't use servers. The whole process was smooth. This is our second event with them. The last was a wedding of 250 people. We just had Catered Productions at our home for the 3rd time! They did a high school reunion for 75, a wedding of 200+, and our 50 yr. anniversary for 60+! This time was a Pig Roast, with grilled chicken and hotdogs! Everything, especially the pig, was outstanding, including the sides. The food was more than enough, with some yummy leftovers. Michelle Theobald and her staff made my husband's 80th birthday party easy and relaxed. They had catered my son's wedding several years ago and did a great job, so I knew what I was getting-good food and professional service. I requested cloth table linens, china dinnerware, stainless flatware and glass barware. I know this made our guests feel special. Our party was small, only 15 people, many of whom came from across the country. They enjoyed the mocktail bar, the Mexican buffet, and the churros and coffee for dessert. We catered an event for about 100 people at our church. We had the chicken piccata, long grain and wild rice, vegetable medley and salad. We hired 2 staff for the affair. The food was excellent and the portions appropriate. The staff was excellent, they knew what they were doing and didn't need a lot of instruction. The company I work for ordered boxed lunches for everyone this past week from Catering Productions in Libertyville. They should have gone to Jersey Mike's or at the least Jimmy John's. Pizza would have been better. Choice of ham, turkey, beef, tuna sandwiches. Box lunch came with sandwich, chips, potato salad, fruit, cookie, mayo packet, and plastic ware. I chose ham. The Kaiser roll was very dry, old, and tasteless. There was 2 slices of ham, a wet slice of cheese, and something that looked like shredded lettuce. I've seen this type of sandwich before. They were made quickly and sat. (Hence wet cheese, wilted lettuce) I felt sorry for the 2nd shift team. The potato salad was in a 2oz cup. Good, but could have been larger. The fruit was in a 2oz cup. Mostly inexpensive fruit, (white pieces of honeydew, pineapple, red grapes) They were generous enough to garnish it with a single small sliver of strawberry on the top. The bag of Jays chips were the small bag you get at Costco/Sam's for your children when you purchase the 50 pack. Nothing new here. The cookie. What a disappointment. Hard, small, flat, tasteless chocolate cookie. Hard as a rock. Didn't touch it. Going to rate, (1-10), and reasonably cost out this box lunch. Mike and Wan, Wow!!! This is long overdue... Mark and I got married at a yacht club September 2017. We are huge FOODIES, both our families are! For the wedding, food was important! We had our company picnic scheduled for the Nippersink Forest Preserve. Catered Productions is an approved vendor of Lake County. We got pricing and found that they also provided a bouncy house and face painting. A one stop shop! Everything was amazing. The staff that was there the day of the picnic was top notch! My mom used Catered Productions for my bridal shower this past weekend. She ordered the build your own sandwich tray and that came with 3 side salads and fresh fruit. The sandwich tray consisted of tuna salad, ham, roast beef, turkey and a variety of cheeses. There was a variety of breads, rolls and the ever sinful croissant! The side salads: cheese tortellini pasta salad, a southwest pasta salad and an Asian cabbage salad with chicken & silvered almonds. My least favorite was the southwest pasta salad, it was kind of flavorless. All of the salads and trays had flowers on top for added effect. The food was good but nothing like the tasting. Did a tasting for my daughters wedding. The chicken portion was huge and the pepper steak was loaded with beef. But at the wedding, the chicken was 1/3 the size of that presented at the tasting. The pepper steak was more like pepper gravy...little to no beef at all. The Zucchini Melody had no zucchini unlike the tasting that again was loaded with zucchini. Needless to say, we were very disappointed, we should have chosen the Picnic Basket. We thought we would save a couple bucks per plate....you get what you pay for I guess. I wouldn't consider them for future events, the bait and switch practice of showing you one thing at the tasting and delivering something entirely different at the event is appalling. read more

Katie was responsive to my emails, the gentleman at their location was helpful in terms of timing, quantities, etc., and the man and woman who set up our buffet were great, kind and helpful. Unfortunately I didn't get everyone's name. We had a backyard BBQ party for 70 people. Many asked us where the food was from, as it was very good. We especially liked the Italian Beef and Pulled BBQ Pork. I ordered marinated chicken breast as well, for a healthier option, but wouldn't next time as we had a lot left....people wanted the less healthy options :). They picked up the tables and chafing dishes the next day. It was well worth the investment to save on the hassle of preparing everything and renting buffet materials. The first time I thought the meat was a little salty for my taste and so I went back in to make this small adjustment and the chef made it to perfection. At the wedding, they were prompt, set up and break down was seamless and food was absolutely great. The staff at the wedding was very attentive and friendly. Our guests raved about the food. They said they had never been to a wedding with such good food. The fact that I heard this from multiple guests and then the compliments continued through the week makes me know everyone really enjoyed the food. I even heard a comment from a guest that their friend (restaurant manager and knows the industry) recently married and our wedding food was better than his! I was also told our late night snacks (nacho bar) rocked! Friends /Family would come up and let us know how we were the best.
