I cannot say enough amazing things about Pear Tree Catering's food. My office has catered from Pear Tree for a number of years so I've been fortunate enough to be able to try many of the delicious items that they offer. I love the amazing presentation across all items I've seen -- many times exceeding what I've ever seen at weddings. They also provide wonderful cards with descriptions and dietary indicators that look great and are very informative. What really stands out here though is the food quality. All the fruits and vegetables I've had, whether it be in a fruit tray, salad, grilled veggies, etc. are top notch. Generally I won't go towards fresh produce when given other options, but Pear Tree has won me over with their absolutely delicious items. Even items such as breadsticks and crackers with a mix of cheese are absolutely delicious, where the commitment to sourcing quality ingredients is evident with every bite. Salads are also incredibly good here, with fresh greens that are nice and crisp and nice juicy tomatoes and other items like cheese, nuts, fruits, etc. that once again show their commitment to top notch ingredients. Overall, I'm glad that we do so much corporate catering with Pear Tree Catering. Employees are genuinely excited every time they bring in delicious food to the office, as they are consistently excellent across the board with all their offerings read more

Is 5 stars really enough? Can I give Shelly 10 stars? From the start, Shelly made me feel so relieved for this event. I was throwing a Happy Hour at my Executives house for the entire leadership team, which grew into a much bigger event. From 30 to 65, Shelly put me at ease. I felt like I could absolutely trust her knowing what she's done in the past. I knew that she was meticulous when it came to the presentation, not just the taste. Do not use this caterer! We had a terribly disappointing experience this past weekend and feel totally embarrassed by the quality and presentation we provided our guests. We were making a small cocktail party for our kids who had eloped in December after canceling their wedding. Just 20 people including family and friends but we wanted it to be beautifully catered. We selected about 10 different appetizers and a few small desserts to be circulated around the room on trays. So many things were wrong! The worst, though, is that we contacted the owner, Shelly, the morning after the event and she has not apologized or made any effort to make amends, she just said she'd look into our claims. This was two days ago. We ordered 5 dozen "premium" desserts for which we were charged $18.80/dozen. I was shocked to see the eclairs were a box of Delizza deli-case pastries, on sale for $5.99 for 30 pieces this week in the grocery store. We were charged $50 for these!!! The petite fours were also in a grocery store container. (picture attached) They forgot the peanut sauce for the chicken satay so 2 dozen of those went uneaten. The brisket sliders were large buns with a single slice of fatty meat, about 1"x1" square and a pickle chip. Most of those were uneaten, as well. The bruschetta was pre-oiled pieces of bread that were really greasy, accompanied by a bowl of bland chopped tomatoes with no herbs or seasoning, for guests to assemble themselves. I am sorry I didn't take a photo of the presentation: the servers apparently forgot display placards, so in front of each sauce was a randomly ripped piece of masking tape with the sauce name written in pen, taped onto the tablecloth. (Also, the servers arrived 15 minutes late so my husband had to make two trips to help them unload. One woman claimed it was because of traffic; the other said it was because they couldn't find the slider buns when they were packing up.) We had specifically requested one person in the kitchen and the other circulating through the room serving the food, with only the hummus platter and shrimp platter on the dining table. However, they placed everything on the dining table and only served one appetizer one time when my husband requested it. There was not a single decorative item in the food presentations. Just industrial service pieces filled with food like it was a corporate breakfast in a cheap hotel. We chose Pear Tree because they bought Hel's Kitchen, who had created magnificent events for us in the past. Hel's Kitchen was known for beautiful presentations: they used flowers and other greenery to decorate platters. I specifically asked Abbie, our salesperson, if this would be the case with Pear Tree and I was told it was the same. That was not true. A small but annoying point: our original numbers were for 25 people and we reduced it to 20 several days before the event. However, they delivered and charged us for rental of 25 each of 3 types of glassware, dishes and forks. Also, I had called Abbie a day or two before the event to ask how much room they'd need in our refrigerator. Her answer was, "None! Only for the leftovers you'll be enjoying." Of course when the women arrived, they needed our refrigerator so my husband had to run out before our guests arrived to buy ice for all of our wine, champagne and seltzers. (And we threw out all the inedible leftovers!) We feel embarrassed by the presentation and the quality of the food and regret that we trusted Pear Tree to make this celebration special for our kids before they move out of town in two weeks. We are particularly shocked that Shelly did not care at all when we told her our experience. Her only response was that their desserts are not store-bought and they use placards for signage, as if it couldn't possibly have happened as it did. read more

Amy was marvelous to work with. She worked with me on everything. She obtained the requisite liquor license even tho we provided the liquor. We discussed table setup, numbers needed, linens, etc. Her communication was spot on, not too much, just the right amount. Lots of food choices and Amy helped me with my choices. Our baby shower for 22 guests was a SMASHING success! There is no doubt that Pear Tree Catering's delicious food was one of the highlights. Everyone raved about the food selection, incredible taste and exquisite presentation. They brought an incredible array of decorating items for the buffet that went perfectly with our 'Under the Sea' party theme. Could not have selected a more capable and friendly team to staff the party. I cannot say enough about the professionalism of our server Jennifer, who seemed to be everywhere, doing everything that needed to be done. I was amazed that she was greeting guests and taking coats to hang. She made sure everyone had a beverage and she was there to pick up plates the moment they needed picking up. We were playing games after eating and the next thing I knew, she had all of the dishes in the dishwasher and the buffet completely broken down. She did it without anyone even noticing and had all of the leftovers packaged up and marked. Shelly and her team are rockstars! Her wonderful personality made it so easy to work with her! We catered from Pear Tree for a baby shower! We have catered with Pear Tree in the past for birthdays and other celebrations. When COVID happened, we found ourselves working somehow longer hours and being school teachers leaving not much room for figuring out dinner and cooking. Plus we really didn't love going to the grocery store earlier on. Enter Pear Tree who on a dime flipped their operations and moved to Dinner at your Door. All it requires is you to select a day in advance, order/pay, delivered to your door late afternoon, and heating up. We order 3-5 meals each week and have really enjoyed the variety. Some super yummy dishes, things we would have never thought of or tried. And always enough left over for lunch for my husband when we get a meal for our family of 4. Some of our favorites include their Asian and Mexican selections as well as their fried chicken. We keep asking for the Peanut Soy Chicken on repeat - so tasty! Like everyone we look forward to future family and friend celebrations and will continue to use Pear Tree when that resumes and hope they also continue this Dinner at Your Door. I had my son's graduation party and I knew I was going to hire Pear Tree. The only part I was not sure the level of service I was going to receive. I called and Jenny was my contact. The staff showed up 7 minutes early than the agree upon time. When does that happen any more? Fantastic! Everything was cooked and/or prepared fresh. We used pear tree for our massive wedding in june. Not only is Mark a true and honest professional, the end product is WORTH EVERY CENT! My parents generously helped pay for the caterer, so naturally my father had one and only one request: Hot food. Not only was the food hot, it tasted better than it did at the tasting. (The food was out of this world at the tasting, so that should give you an idea on how much of a clutch player Mark is) Not one person complained of poor service or under/overcooked food. My wedding was at the beginning of September, and we had Pear Tree do the catering. I had been salivating over our non-traditional tex-mex inspired menu for months, and it was even better than I expected. Mark was extremely easy to work with, very reasonably priced, and they showed up exactly when they said they were going to. The wedding was at home, so Pear Tree used the house kitchen and all of the food was extremely fresh and hot. We had chips with guacamole, queso and salsa as well as quesadillas as appetizers. The main dishes were chicken fajitas and fish tacos and we had a South of the Border salad, beans and rice, Mexican mac 'n cheese, and jicama skewers as sides. While all the food FLEW, I have to say that the fish tacos and mac 'n cheese were super stars. My mother in law said that they were the best fish tacos she had ever had and everyone was talking about the mac 'n cheese for days after the wedding. The servers were great. Very prompt, professional, and helpful getting food out and then cleaning up after the event. They packed up our leftovers for us (it was still FANTASTIC the following day), and it could not have been easier for us. My husband and I were absolutely thrilled with how our food turned out. We were not interested in another dry chicken and roast beef wedding menu, and Mark did a great job helping us make our decisions. Delicious, healthy, convenient!! I ordered Pear Tree's Chef At Your Door , initially, to give myself a break from cooking everyone a hearty meal, every night! I was initially pleased that the cost for the generous portions delivered. It was cheaper than if I had gone to the store and cooked. Pear Tree ended up being the most fantastic option for quick healthy meals. The food was delivered family style, as per my request. I then wrapped (vacuum seal-a-meal) portions for all of us with different requirements, protein separate from the veggies. It is PERFECT for my son the athlete who only eats healthy and now consumes additional full meals for a snack, my daughter who is hungry at non-meal times, and for myself the perpetual dieter! I have to say I once tried a well know meal supplier for those trying to diet and the food was the poorest quality! This is quality ingredients and fresh made the day it is delivered. I just worked with Pear Tree for a wedding on a private property on 9/3/16. All I have heard from the guests for the past couple days is how fantastic the food was. The menu was Tex-Mex style with chicken fajitas, fish tacos and Mexican style mac and cheese (plus many other items that weren't even included in the original quote). Everything was hot and fresh and almost all guests went back for seconds. There was even food left over for the next day that still tasted amazing! The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure that there is plenty of food and no one in line is waiting for the buffet to be refilled. This is extremely important so that the guests don't get impatient while in line and you never run out of items on the menu. As the wedding planner for the event, I had my hands tied with multiple items while the catering was set up. I handed the decorations for the buffet to Beth (the server) and she didn't even hesitate before setting them out the way I asked. This was certainly not her job, but that is the benefit to using Pear Tree. The entire staff at PT wants to go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. I cannot recommend Pear Tree enough. The food quality is fresh (made on-site the day of), the staff is professional and the guests are always happy. In regard to the setup of the food, she went above and beyond to create beautiful displays. As far as the food quality, I've never before had so many guests at my party approach me to let me know how wonderful the food was - and we had many foodies at our wedding! For certain items, I was told that they were the best in class! Shelly and her staff were accessible and easy to communicate with throughout the party - whether it be timing requests based on how many of my guests had arrived, or a personal favor (i.e., could you please offer a watermelon skewer to my daughter, the bride). They were efficient, polite, and respectful to everyone. When it came time for cleanup, they once again went above and beyond. Not only did they leave all cooking and serving areas immaculate, but they cleaned up parts of the party that they had not even been responsible for - i.e., gathering up the centerpieces, candy, nuts, etc. They even wrapped all leftover food and neatly packed it into my refrigerator. Had the pleasure of trying the following delicious items this past weekend at graduation ceremony. The Heirloom tomato bruschetta and crab stuffed mushroom caps were outstanding. Unfortunately, I was unable to try the bacon wrapped shrimp. The strawberry salad had fresh items and the assorted oven roasted vegetables were my favorite. My wife loved the mini cheesecakes that were available. The service from the catering company was outstanding. I never had to request a refill. Nope nope and NOPE! I was an out of town guest at a wedding and they were catering the wedding. The food flavorless. If it did have flavor is was salt! Their food was so basic and nothing wowed anyone at the wedding. Such basic chicken or pasta dishes. Where is the creativity?! Their staff seemed scrambled and unorganized. I feel like staff at a wedding should fly under the radar and let the guests enjoy the wedding and not get in the guests way or the staff should be waiting on them hand and foot! Not the case here. From the first day we met with Shelly, she assured me all would be prefect - and when the wedding day came - it was exactly that - perfect! I am a very type A person (In a nice way), but it makes me worry about all of the details - but, in this case, every detail was covered and even though I still worried, they were so on it, they did so many things I had not even thought of - every little thing was done and the wedding just flowed along perfectly! I was able to enjoy my wedding and dance the night away with out a worry at all, and the fact that they allowed me to do that, is simply amazing! On top of that, the FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL!!!!
