Why would a company provide a quote for an item that is not on their menu? That's weird in itself then to try and overcharge for said item is even more weird. I understand that you wanted to reply to my earlier review but it honestly made it worse. When you don't provide an item the correct thing to do, as a business, is to either figure out how much the going rate is or simply say you do not carry the item. Pretending to and knowing it is something you don't carry would have made the experience much worse. Again, I never requested a quote from you, Yelp sent it to numerous vendors. So once more, in the future, the most simple thing to do is be honest and say you don't carry the item, never made it, and apologize for the inconvenience. Have a wonderful day. read more

Catered to You absolutely blew it out of the water for my 165 person vegeterian wedding. We ordered Lasagna Blanca (asked them to cut the veggies small so kids would eat more) and it was soooo delicious. They delivered the food over 2 hours away (Meyers, CA) and it arrived perfect. My brother-in-law is a chef/restaurateur with 2 restaurants and he could not stop eating the lasgna, and was amazed at how affordable their offerings are, especially at that high caliber. My wife also asked the chef to make a recipe that was not on their menu (Marry Me Butter Beans). It was soooo good. My wife and I are both vegeterian and so we wanted a fully vegeterian wedding. Its not always easy to please non-veg guests when you're only offering vegeterian fare, but Catered to You was able to pull it off. Catered to You exceeded our expectations, and their food was amazing! Starting off with the client interaction when I was getting quotes. Their website was very user friendly. Stated pricing estimates and packages were easy to understand. Paying for and going through the event details were also very customer centered. Their menu was extensive and had options for different types of food limitations (vegan, vegetarian etc.) It was affordable at about $27 pp which included 3 appetizers, 1 salad, 2 mains, 2 sides, and 3 desserts. We added extra options of course. The food delivery was a breeze. They set/up with disposable chaffing dishes and disposable plates and utensils were elegant. The food was delicious!! Within a few days of planning, we'd called up over a dozen catering companies to find Catered to You the best for our family reunion: flexible on headcount until days before contracting, disposable chafing dishes that truly kept food hot to avoid waitstaff all night, and excellent setup. And pricing was reasonable. Anthony walked us through dishes that prior guests raved about, we chose exactly that (tri tip, mushroom chicken, mashed potatoes, etc). Even the simple warm bread rolls were a bit. If I had any minor protips/feedback: 1) drinks don't come cold, so be prepared to have a cooler or fridge with ample space. 2) The lasagna tray was too heavy for the chafing dishes and didn't fit our oven, so we had a portion that was cooler throughout the event - yet plenty of other food to go around and guests didn't notice. This email was sent 12.18 with no resolution. Clearly, this catering company does not meet standard expectations & is an overall disappointment. 1. Communication Issues: My wife, Jennifer, had to make multiple attempts to obtain an updated invoice, which is unacceptable in today's standard of customer service. Communication with your team was non-existent at times, leaving us frustrated. 2. Food Quality, Quantity, and Temperature: * The Penne Alfredo was inedible--overcooked, hard, and had the consistency of dry, baked mac and cheese. None of the children ate it. * While the appetizers were fine in taste, the portions were unacceptably small. For example: * The crab cakes were good, but the beef Wellington was just average. * The one-bite hors d'oeuvres were far too small for the price--what should have been a two-bite appetizer was miniature. * Additionally, the sauce for the beef Wellington did not come with a container, forcing my wife to use our own ramekins. * Most concerning, the food arrived cold, which was incredibly disappointing given the nature of a catered holiday party. For the price we paid, we expected food to arrive properly heated and ready to serve. * Comparatively, for the same $960, we could have received significantly more food and higher quality from Mikuni (a well-recognized and reputable local restaurant), with at least 2.5 times the volume of food and widespread guest satisfaction. 3. Presentation and Serveware: * We were under the impression the food would be delivered with professional-grade serving ware and that your team would handle pick-up. Instead, we received food in disposable trays with blue and white Dixie-style serveware--unacceptable for a Christmas party. * The upgraded plates were 10-inch dinner plates, which were far too large for serving hors d'oeuvres. This created the impression that very little food was being served. A smaller 6-inch appetizer plate would have been far more appropriate. * The black utensils were individually wrapped in plastic, reminiscent of cheap fast-food cutlery. Given the cost and the premium expectations set by your branding, the overall experience did not meet basic standards of catering, let alone justify the price. I hope you take this feedback seriously and use it to improve your offerings and communication going forward. For the price we paid, we expected much better food quality, presentation, and customer service. I spoke to Chris and they had been swamped with prior orders and were supposed to be taking a little break from new orders. This was in December so I'm sure they where busy. He scheduled a final details conference call a few weeks before the event to make sure things were updated as needed (headcount, changes to quantity and food choices, etc). I ordered food from Catered To You for my son's wedding rehearsal and I couldn't be more pleased. First, I loved that they have an online pricing guide with menu and serving options available which made requesting a quote easy. Next, my daughter in law (the bride) is gluten intolerant and I did not want to do anything that might get her sick the night before her wedding. I was assured that it would be clearly written on all forms and communicated to the chef that all the food ingredients needed to be gluten free, it most definitely was just as I had asked which was reassuring. The bride had requested crème brûlée as a dessert, even though it wasn't on their standard menu they were able to make it happen. Also, the pick up was seamless. There was a phone call a week before to firm up details and clarify who would be picking up and when. At a time when food prices are soaring and portions at most restaurants are shrinking, I was incredibly happy to see that there was ample food. Not just the volume was impressive so was the presentation. Everything was beautiful and tasted every bit as good as it looked. At one point the bride leaned over and quietly asked if I was sure the meal was gluten free because it tasted so good she was hesitant to believe it was! I assured her that everything was absolutely gluten free and she was so happy to be able to eat everything that was served rather than just one or two things which is usually the case. The true test was that she ate some of everything and didn't get sick! All the guests commented on how delicious the food was and I couldn't have been any happier. I can't say enough about what a great experience it was working with Catered To You. I would highly recommend hiring them to cater any event, look no further. read more

UPDATE: Still a 10/10! We did a tasting about a month prior to our wedding to make sure we liked the menu, and due to covid restrictions they did a personal drop-off at our apartment of the food! It was so good. The day of the wedding there was a mix up about the napkins we were supposed to rent from them (they just weren't the right color) so they took off the rental price from our total! I also heard they were incredibly helpful with our coordinator, setting up the dessert bar etc. (which was not something I had asked them to do) Chris and Jonathan were so helpful and personable throughout the whole process! The pricing is incredibly reasonable, the options are bountiful, the customer service from the first interaction was so fantastic, and the food is even better than the service. Our wedding was small and ended abruptly due to a power outage, and . My husband and I had planned on letting people take food home, but ended up quickly putting all the food in our car just to get packed up before we lost daylight and VERY happily gorged ourselves on the tri tip with mushroom demi glaze and Gouda mashed potatoes (among other things) for the next few days. My parents used this company this past weekend for a celebration of life ceremony for my brother. They were very professional & kind. The man that set up was polite & efficient. The food was amazing & portions were extremely generous. My mom hasn't had much of an appetite since she lost her son, but she actually ate & enjoyed the food. We had creamy Tuscan chicken, tri tip with mushroom wine demi gloss, au gratin potatoes, garlic parmesan polenta, chicken quesadillas, tenderloin and risotto fritters, crab cakes, & salad. There were several different sauces but my favorite was the lemon basil aioli, the honey chipotle aioli was also delicious.
