Let me start off by saying that we hired Crisp Catering for a Holiday party the week before last. Joe at Crisp Catering is lovely and is a great with communication! I spoke to him several times over the course of a month or so and he was always very pleasant and patient. I did a walkthrough a couple of days before the party with the catering captain that went very well, but when this person arrived on site for the party on Friday, her conduct when she arrived was concerning. She was very unprofessional and caused unnecessary disruption in the lobby of our building - the rest of her Team were wonderful and did a great job. Another issue was food presentation, it was not at all what we anticipated based off of conversation or website photos. The assortment of desserts we ordered we served on very used cookie baking sheets for example (see photos). Food labels were also not provided so attendees could not easily identify items, including vegetarian and gluten-free options. The service also felt rushed and somewhat disorganized, despite the catering team arriving early for setup and being asked to be setup at a specific time. Overall, the food was just okay, but nothing stood out over the rest - we ordered heavy appetizers like the Cranberry Chili Meatballs, Mini Beef Wellingtons, Honey Garlic Chicken Skewers, Italian Shrimp, Mini Falafel with Spiced Hummus, Turkey Sliders and Tomato Mozzarella Arancini plus a assortment of different desserts as mentioned above. Maybe it was just a bad day, I know that catering companies are very busy especially during the holidays, but I don't think we will be hiring them again unfortunately. read more

They arrived early, had everything set up ahead of schedule, and the woman who came to support the event went above and beyond. The placed 2 meal orders for St. Louis rib, Mac & Cheese with extra cheese and the meal come with a nice size mixed greens salad with a delicious vinaigrette dressing it was so much food and considering I placed 2 orders the quality is great and the ribs and Mac n cheese is actually better than some of these local BBQ joints in town and you get much more food for the fraction of the price. I'm so grateful to be able to support a local business in these very difficult times and the fact no contact delivery is included in the price it's so worth it. We saw Joe featured on Good Day Sacramento telling us about a new affordable meal program his company just started doing to assist families. For $25, you get an entree & a salad with dressing to feed 4. The best part of the deal is it includes free delivery. We decided to give them a call. They post a 2-week menu on their website. We wanted to try the Chicken Pot Pie - my hubby's favorite. Simple to order - you email them what you want & in a few minutes someone will call you to confirm your order & get payment info. Orders need to be in before 3 PM the previous day. We ended up emailing a little bit after 3 thinking it was too late but Joe called us back promptly & was able to get our order in. The following day, we got a call from their delivery person to let us know they were about 10 minutes away. They were prompt, came a little bit after 3PM. The entree is delivered cold (fully cooked) & they provide easy heating instructions. Since it is just the 2 of us, we didn't heat the food up in the oven. Instead, we just scooped them in soup bowls, topping it with the bisquits then zapped them in the microwave. We did not know what to expect as to the quantity of the food & weren't sure if 4 people really meant 4 people. We were quite impressed with the amount we got. It definitely was enough to feed 4 hungry people. OMG, the dinner was so awesome! This is not only my hubby's favorite but his comfort food. He said it was the best chicken pot pie he's ever had! The chicken pot pie was flavorful & tasty & had a lot of fresh veggies with a nice crunch. The only minor thing with the meal was it was a bit on the peppery side but other than that, it still rates a 5 star! Loved the salad with the better mixed greens which also included sun dried tomatoes, walnuts, & slices of dried fruit that may have been mango? The dressing that came with it was a perfect compliment. It tasted like a citrusy vinagerette, not heavy tasting but just lite enough to enjoy the crunchiness of the salad. And because I wanted to know this, when a salad is ordered, the dressing is always served on the side in a separate container. My hubby wanted me to make sure I wrote a very good review on Crisp Catering. We enjoyed our meal so much, we plan to order more in the future. We had plenty of leftovers for a 2nd meals which worked fine for us seniors on a limited budget. We highly recommend this place. What an amazing Mother's Day treat this was! We took it to grandma's house and had a lovely brunch outside. The fruit and the scones with the delicious yogurt dip with astronomically refreshing. We ordered our Thanksgiving dinner from here this year and we were blown away. The value was amazing for the amount of food we got, and the flavors were so full of depth and tasted special. The gravy was unique and a little smoky, and herby, and very savory. The thickness was perfect! The turkey was so easy to reheat, and fell off the bone. It stayed juicy, and was easy to carve. The superstar for us was the cornbread stuffing. Amazing! The best stuffing we had ever had! The garlic mashers had just the right amount of garlic, and were creamy and delicious. We haven't tried the pumpkin bread pudding yet, but will later tonight. We have nothing but high hopes for that since everything was so great already. Well, I've had two meals now from Crisp Catering and I have been blown away both times! We had chicken Parmesan with some amazing noodles and sauce and a delicious salad! Wonderful! Joe and his team pulled off the event without a hitch and took care of all of the needs of our hundreds of guests. There were many aspects of my engagement with Crisp Catering that earned them a five star rating. Upon exploring a catering company, I was impressed with Crisp Catering's website and how easy it was to fill out a form and have someone follow up with me within 24 hours. After a brief discussion, I was provided an enticing menu at a very competitive price--trust me I bidded this job out to a number of people and their pricing was far better than many others when considering the overall value. In working with Joe, he was very flexible in helping us to customize the menu as well as many of the other items that we needed for the event--everything from additional tables, centerpiece displays, to table card holders. Joe was even able to secure coatracks after a frantic call the day before the event! The day of the event was a success from start to finish with quick set up of food with everything including a hot chocolate station, wine and beer bar, tasty appetizer and cheese display to an appetizing dinner and dessert.
