I had a trust and other documents that needed notarizing. The notary told me she could not notarize a trust because they were too complicated. So then I asked if she would notarize my power of attorney's, healthcare directive, and grant deed. She refused to notarize any of the documents. After I pushed back a little, she said Bank of America's notary services are a perk and that they can refuse to sign any document. She finally notarize one of my documents to get rid of me. I got the impression they were too busy and did not want to be bothered with me, even after I explained that I've had these types of documents notarized at that Bank of America branch before. I've been a loyal customer for almost 40 years. I tried to file a complaint through their customer service line, and that was even more of a pathetic experience. I also had them lock my interest rate, only to find out that they only locked what I had already took out and did not apply my locked rate for my Total approved loan amount. They basically partially locked my HELOC and put the majority of our loan into a high variable rate, without telling us. You might get an initial good rate with them, but what comes with their lack of transparency is not worth the problems.
