Dr. Biren's office on most days closes at 4;30pm. If you call them around 2pm their phones say they are unavailable and to leave a voicemail. How are you going to turn off all calls 2.5 hours before closing time?? I've called numerous times on different days and have experienced this. This is just not the place. I recommend getting a dermatologist outside of the valley. My father ended up having psoriasis after we got a second opinion. When she did 2 biopsy's, one came back inclusive and she wasn't even able to tell me what that meant. And the second one I never even got the results on because they told me it would take well over a month to even get the results since they are so backed up. Dr. Biren has no "bed-side manner". She's completely unengaged with her patients. And Ultherapy is a hoax. I went through the process without any beneficial results. Not only did the MD not assess my results, but the technician who performed the procedure was "unavailable". This office couldn't care less about patients or outcomes. Find another provider. Also, the only person making money from this procedure is Christy Brinkley (of course she was paid for her endorsement), and the bogus company who "invented" this treatment. read more

I believe reviews are earned, period. Whether the review is positive or negative, it should be based on a true and accurate experience. This is one of those reviews. I purposefully gave myself a few days to process my experience so that my review is based only on facts and not emotion. I arrived to my appointment 10 minutes early to give myself plenty of time to complete any necessary paperwork. The receptionist was very kind and explained what I needed to fill out, sign, etc. I completed everything, turned it in and waited to be called to meet with the doctor. Now, I'm well aware that sometimes appointments can take longer than scheduled, especially in the medical field, so I wasn't too concerned with waiting a little bit to be seen. It's now 20 minutes past my appointment time and I'm thinking she'll be getting to me pretty soon. Fast-forward to an hour and a half later and I'm finally brought to an examination room. A very sweet assistant spends a few minutes reviewing my paperwork and going over the reason for my visit. She then places my file in the door and says the doctor will be with me in just a few minutes. Indeed, just a few minutes later the doctor comes in with the assistant and asks me what I'm being seen for; she's obviously spent zero time looking at my paperwork her assistant just went over with me. I rattle off a few things and she begins going over a few treatments using products I can conveniently purchase from her office. At no time does she explain how to use said products, only that they'll help with the (cosmetic) concerns I have. Halfway through my time with her another assistant pokes her head in the room and whispers something to the doctor. She then turns to me and tells me in a very dry, forced "apologetic" tone that she's sorry but she's running very behind and has to now see her next patient. Just to note - the whole "appointment" takes place in less than 5 minutes. Maybe it was the dumbfounded look on my face, but she then asks me if I have any "quick questions" before she leaves, so I ask her if she's going to look at any of the moles I'm concerned about. She asks me if any are "oozing or bleeding", I say no, and she then says "You're probably fine" and to schedule an appointment in 10 weeks to follow-up on my concerns. Not my moles, my COSMETIC concerns. Unbelievable. Still trying to process what just took place, I head to the receptionist to reschedule. As she hands me my reminder card I tell her that I'm sorry, but I won't be coming back. She's very sweet and apologizes for my experience and asks what happened to make me feel that way. I explain the whole story to her and sadly, she doesn't seem a bit surprised. She then tells me that "a lot" of people prefer the see the doctor's PA (physicians assistant) and that I'm welcome to schedule with her instead. Very long story short, even though I was told by a few people of their horrible experiences with this doctor, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. I can honestly say she lived up to every negative thing that was shared with me prior to my visit. I will NOT be returning. read more

I hate to leave negative reviews but damn every negative review on this doctor is completely right, she shows no care towards you, she basically speed walked into the room barely looked at my problem and went straight to a diagnosis and left her nurse to do any real work. Regardless of being busy or stressed out or anything you gotta give a shit about your patients and slowly explain to them what's going on. Don't just stand all high and mighty giving out statements and facts because you're a doctor maybe try slowing down and actually giving a fuck about the patient. It might be a stressful job but it's even more stressful to take a day off of work to get a problem checked out and the doctor be as useless as a google search. This dermatologist will screw you for your money. You're better off seeing someone else. I went to Dr Endevolsen over her who is actually a plastic surgeon. No insurance coverage in his office with cosmetic procedures & it STILL was a better cost than this office ! I have worked with physicians for years and have met many different types of personalities and bedside manners. I was most unimpressed at the bedside manner provided by Dr. Biren. I felt as though I was an inconvenience to her, and I was simply a waste of her time. Did not solve my issues, and cost me a fortune in "required follow up visits". Talked down to me as though I was stupid and didn't listen to my concerns, all while making judge-y comments about my skin. Two stars because her PA's and other staffing were kind and wonderful and tried to help me out. However, unfortunately, Dr. Biren has pushed me away and I will not be going back, nor could I in good faith recommend her. I would recommend look elsewhere for your Dermatology needs. read more

The worst dermatologist I've ever seen I've had acne when I was a child, and as an adult I've had a couple of instances where I've had basal cell carcinoma's ... Last year I noticed a rash that had developed and my family was also concerned that a couple of skin spots had grown over time. She basically dismissed me, provided a topical ointment which did nothing and completely focused on other things BUT certainly NOT my skin. I have always been for a wide variety of reasons physician-phobic. I was so "embarrassed" (for lack of a better expression) that I did not return --- She didn't even attempt to reconcile my odd rash nor did she do anything at all about the growing 3 dimensional spots on my face. DON"T GO TO THIS PHYSICIAN ... you would be better off going to a witch doctor. read more

I was a patient of Dr Biren several years ago. I went in for what I thought was poison oak and was diagnosed with something else, but made to feel a fool for my hypothesis. I was told she would prescribe something for it, but was then dismissed by a member of her staff with directions regarding care and moisurizing. When I returned a few weeks later, I was first chewed out for not following the prescription I did not receive, then called a liar for reminding them they dismissed me without one. I never went back and reccommend nobody else does either. I had much better success with West Dermatology until they closed. read more

I'm still trying to process what happened at this appt. Dr. Biren's bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. She is socially awkward & condescending. She started by telling me that she didn't have time for all my concerns so what was my main issue. When I told her skin tags she said " oh well, you are overweight." I felt humiliated. I felt like I was an inconvenience to her. She was judgemental & callous. Made me feel stupid for asking questions & that all my problems should be resolved with moisturizer & sun screen. When asked which sun screen or moisturizer she recommended she said just ask the girls up front. read more

I was so scared of my diagnosis and they did not ease my fears but instead I had to figure everything out on my own with my own research. I love this office! I've never been to a doctor's office where they run so efficiently! The longest I've waited in the waiting room is 7-10 minutes! The staff is friendly, the office is clean, and I don't feel nervous when I'm there! Dr. Biren always has a smile on her face and an encouraging word to share! She gets the job done in a timely manner. I don't trust doctors easily, but I feel confident that she'll make the right call and do the very best job. After 2 girlfriends and my neighbor mentioned going to her, I knew it was the right place for me to try. They were right! If you like a friendly staff, a wonderful doctor, and not wasting time sitting in waiting rooms, this is the place for you! read more

I have been taking my 16 year old Autistic son to this practice for over two years. In that time we have never had the opportunity to actually meet the doctor; we have only been able to be seen by physician assistants. On our last visit I expressed that I felt the treatment wasn't working and asked if we could make a change. The assistance responded with, "what would you like to do?" I left the office very frustrated and continued with the same treatment. Recently, I tried to refill his prescription and was notified by the pharmacy that the doctor was requiring another exam before she would allow the script to be filled. I then called the office and asked to speak with the doctor. I was told that was not possible but if I wanted to make an appointment for my son specifically with the doctor I could. We set the appointment for this afternoon and I brought him there 5 minutes early. At that time I was notified the doctor had 6 patients ahead of me and would not be able to see us for a considerable amount of time. Okay...enough is enough. The way I feel is that this doctor does not like to return phone calls and does not like to actually see her patients. Today she reinforced the feeling to me that her time was simply far more important than mine. A phone call letting me know she was running more than an hour behind might have been the considerate thing to do. That said, I will not be going back to this practice ever again.
