Every time I have to explain to doctors and nurses about the damage they caused at balfour dermatology to my face and under eye I have to relive the experience I realize that they used a thick type of filler I believe it's called the Rh filler under my eyes and no doctors or nurses or med spas say that that is allowed to be used in the under eye area. Yet, Balfour Dermatology not only used it, but forced me to buy it as a package deal where three or four FULL amounts were injected into my face at the same time in one day! The stuff of nightmares! The procedure was extremely painful more pain than anything I've ever felt in life. In addition, the practitioner was not the nicest and I learned was not trained to use that type of filler! I asked her if she had ever gotten fillers and she laughed mockingly and said no, " and I would never because I see what you all go through." That was not something to say to make me feel better about the experience. I only came to do this because I was experiencing some issues from having a dental implant put in and I was told to go to a dermatologist in the area to help find a solution. Now, over four years later and I still am too embarrassed to take pictures, Take part in family photos and missed so many events, weddings, graduations, etc. because of the damage done to my face. Two graduations ceremonies from Ivy Leagues where I'm wearing sunglasses in all the formal ceremonies. One valedictorian ceremony - sunglasses even at night. Very upsetting. They were also very belittling when I asked for a solution they wanted to just charge me for adding more filler, etc. ( the Dermatologist suggested MORE filler) they sold me GNC bottles of vitamin C and told me to take allergy pills. All of the staff became very rude and almost mocking. I have spent so much money at other offices to try to find a solution years of red light therapy, lymphatic drainage, massage, laser, and even having to pay to dissolve the filler at other more professional offices has helped me, but still there has been so much damage done to my face with migration issues etc. Now, the nurses and doctors that see me elsewhere cannot believe that balfour Dermatology did such unprofessional things to me and didn't help. In fact, the dermatologist at balfour over a video call refused to help and ask me to go elsewhere. His literal words were " since your daughter attends Stanford why you just continue to go to Stanford and find help there." I've lost thousands of dollars because of this unprofessional office. I drive hours away to find reputable professional help. Such a huge regret and loss of money coming here. read more

This place is crap. Big money grab right here. My first visit, doctor seemed nice and had a good attitude, he gave me a plan and scheduled me with another doctor for my next visit. This guy ended up being very dry, no personality what so ever. He came off as very condescending and acted as if I couldn't afford the treatments that were recommended to me during the prior visit. So I joined Balfour Dermatology with a membership that takes $50 out every month so that when I come in to get my lip filler, I only have to pay a couple hundred bucks. I went in for an appointment a few weeks ago and they put me in a room and I sat in the room for 45 minutes and no one even acknowledged that I was there. No one bothered to come in and I was on my lunch hour so I ended up leaving and rescheduling. When I went back today, they tell me that a glitch in the system canceled my membership in November so it would be $400 for my filler. Why didn't anyone call me and tell me that this had happened? Maybe if somebody had come in and talked to me the visit before we could've figured this out? The manager called me and told me they had an update and this happened to lots of people but it wasn't cool at all. Hoping it gets better. read more

I don't normally write reviews but the experience I had on this Balfour Dermatology pushed me to do so as it was VERY ALARMING! If only I can give them ZERO STAR that will make me happy at least because I am beyond disappointed and mad. I FELT ROBBED AND SCAMMED! I am a new patient at this clinic and my first visit was June 5, 2023. I came here to get treatment for my facial warts/millia. When the doctor came in and checked my face he told me that he will only treat three pieces on my face because he wanted to check how well will my skin reacts to the treatment as he said HE IS VERY WORRIED THAT I MAY GET SCARRING. He instructed me to come back after 3 weeks to treat the remaining warts. I paid $226.44 for that visit and booked the follow-up appointment. Fast forward to my next appointment which is today June 26, the same exact doctor came and treated my remaining warts. I was confident I don't need to pay any more as I already paid the last time but the billing person again asked me to pay another $226.44 for the treatment. I was shocked. It took me a split second to gather myself and asked her "Why do I need to pay again? I already paid last time." I even showed her my receipt from my first visit and explained to her that the doctor didn't treat all my warts on my first appointment, he only did 3 pieces as he said he wants to check if the skin will heal nicely. The billing agent said, "Sorry but it's a different charge from the first visit." I almost told her "Are you telling me I paid $200 bucks for just 3 warts?" If only they explained that it will be another charge I should've insisted to treat everything on my first visit. This is not the first derm clinic I went to but never did I experienced such a situation in other clinics. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS BALFOUR DERMATOLOGY CLINIC! CHECK YOUR INSURANCE! Wow, what a joke. Because I have a "high deductible plan" my first visit as a new patient was $180.00 and the follow up appointment, $120.00. Yes, they did advise of the cost of the 1st visit beforehand, but I was not told each follow up would be $120.00. I've had the same insurance for over 5+ years, gone to other dermatologists and NEVER had to pay so much out of pocket/up front. Also, to add, it took over 30 minutes to be seen for my appointment and when I was in with the doctor, she didn't ask any health questions before prescribing medication. I had to ASK to make sure the medication they prescribed would be safe as I am breastfeeding. Barely even explained what could be wrong with me, or any info to what caused/why I could have had the issue I was having. Just slap some cream on it and good luck. Go somewhere else. read more

I went in for a consultation on possible mole removal a few weeks ago. Everyone was super nice and the office was extremely clean. I paid out of pocket as my insurance doesn't cover it and they were able to just remove them same day which was awesome. My 3 stars is bc they didn't explain anything very well. I had to ask the process of removal, the aftercare instructions and they require you send the moles to a lab, which is fine but then they want to do a follow up visit via phone and it's not a 'set schedule', so you just have to be ready when they call which isn't very convenient for some people. read more

Giving three stars because the office staff and the doctor are all very professional and pleasant to deal with. My daughter seen Dr. Triplett - re: redness on the corners of her nose. After one year, a few visits to their office, no diagnosis, and two prescriptions later, her issue is still unresolved. Due to this, we'll be going elsewhere for a second opinion. Their billing is terrible which must be a third party who handles it. She had services rendered in March, with dual insurance, and I literally had to call the billing department 7 times to ask them to bill our secondary insurance. I just received another statement in the mail so I called the secondary insurance today, and they stated the claim was recieved on July 7th. Four months later...yikes. read more

I wasn't sure what else to do to take my skincare to the next level. I'm gettin older, yet I still get deep cystic acne on my chin that's frustrating af... I ended up making an apt, with Denise. She recommended a peel which I was so apprehensive about just because I didn't know how snake like I'd be for however long, but they r the best! Helped with hyperpigmentation, has kept the cystic acne mostly at bay, and kept those smalll little barely there whiteheads/blackheads at a minimum! I get them every month and a half or so followed by a microderm to help even out any lingering peeling. Helps a shocking amount! The prices are the best around too which makes it less difficult to stay on track and get em regularly. read more

I stopped coming here after a few years of getting botox and fillers because there always seemed to be an issue with billing. I was not shocked to see others on here having the same problem. I have been over-billed several times and I have had to contact them to fix it on multiple occasions. Only problem is, they don't ever want to refund you the payment, they want to "exchange" it for skin products. They will rarely actually give you your money back. It is truly a haggle. I started going to Balfour Dermatology at the beginning of the month. Came in for a second appointment and was told the new policy is anyone with an insurance deductible of $500 or more must pay the full visit and for any procedure. They didn't even ask if I had met my deductible! Just wanted to charge me for the appointment! I guess business is so good for them that they don't need my business. First, why didn't they tell me this the first appointment? Second, why not call me and inform me prior to the appointment. I drove 25 minutes just to get to them and then 25 minutes home. Will they be reimbursing me for my time?? I doubt it. If there were zero stars I would have not marked any stars. SERVICE and POLICY at this dermatologist sucks! Don't waste your time here unless you want to pay out of your pocket money that you should not have to. Update..... of course they replied and wanted to help. They didn't seem that accommodating when I was standing in the office. Perhaps when I was at the office they should have asked a few more questions, like if I had met my deductible for the year???? I had a big ugly mole they removed. The staff were friendly and procedure took about 5 minutes. It was not cheap. The only thing I would say that wasn't really explained was how to clean and treat the mole. It was bleeding for a few days as the skin tried to repair itself. I think that's pretty important information for a patient to know. But 10 days later it's healed up and the scar is starting to look like normal skin. read more

I've had two experiences at Balfour Dermatology. My first experience was good, the team was nice, but they do not numb you for Botox... yep, I get Botox and yep I'm a baby. Anyway, I told them that I would continue to use their office, only if they would numb. I'm new to the area and the doctors in my former town used numbing without issue. They told me that they don't do numbing for Botox, but if I come early next time, they will do it. Six months later, I make my appt. remind them about numbing over the phone, twice... get there day of early, wait to be numbed... finally the person who does the procedure comes in and informs me that they will not numb me. This would have been fine, if they told me that they wouldn't, when I made my appt. I told her what I was told before, she said "I don't know who would have told you that" I explained to her that the person who last did the procedure told me that... she left to go talk to somebody and came back in the room and informed me that she's not going to numb me. Obviously annoyed with my first world problem, I left without my procedure. They DID give me back my non- Refundable deposit, which was nice... they also called me after I left and told me that if I came back, they would numb me. I declined, since I already had other things going on. The office is nice... the people are nice. But the communication is a bit off. If they change their policy, I may give them another try. read more

I chose to go to this office because they represent themselves as the most prestigious, reputable cosmetic services facility in Brentwood. I have tried many establishments looking for the perfect place to entrust a larger overhaul rather than the occasional Botox injection. I am so positively shattered that I chose Balfour Dermatology over the other options in the area. First let me give credit to the only shining light and redeemable quality of this office, Christy is a consummate professional. Her recommendations for treatment are what won me over as a client. I then received a "package deal" totaling nearly 2k that left me what I can only describe as permanently scarred and worse off than before I shelled out my money. The tear trough filler they injected me with left what looked like implanted worms under my eyes. Worse, I now seem to have permanent dark patches under my eyes that weren't there. The cheek fillers that were suppose to "lift and give a youthful appearance" don't look any different than before I went in. Now Christy was NOT the original injectionist, but she did offer some assistance in reversing the horrific effects I was left with. She dissolved the injectables I had paid for to enhance my appearance. It's really all she could do to help me since Dr. Beer refused to stand by his work and allow for proper correction to the service I had paid for. So, a cosmetic surgery doctor, allowed a person seeking help to leave having paid for a service that did not work, left me looking worse than before I had entered, and then paid services were essentially erased. It's astonishing that he is still getting clients if that is the sort of customer treatment being rendered. Please do not entrust your face to this office.*note: this office had two chances to make things right after I expressed my dissatisfaction.
