Cathey Roofing installed a new shingled roof on our home in October 2020. While we had a few miscommunications during the install, Corey did a good job of resolving our concerns and it appeared all was in good order. What we didn't know is what was hidden under the new shingles. A few years prior in October 2016, he had brand new Velux skylights installed. Knowing that skylights can present the possibility of leaks, I was careful to choose a vendor that would use the Velux flashing kit and install precisely according to the manufacturer's instructions. I saw the skylight installation first hand including pictures of the completed flashing. It was pristine. Flash forward to a few months ago. We started to notice mold appearing on our living room ceiling. It wasn't in the skylight shaft but on the ceiling around the shaft about 8-12" away. We reached out to Cathey Roofing and they sent a repair specialist who said that the skylights "failed" and that was evidenced by the mold. Knowing how those skylights were installed and that they were warrantied, we reached out to the Velux dealer. They sent a representative who came and inspected the skylights and the flashing around them. The flashing had been damaged and the new roof incorrectly installed around the skylights. Cathey Roofing nailed THROUGH the skylight flashing when they reroofed. They also covered up the channels intended to divert water around the skylight rather than leaving them exposed as they should have. We even went so far as to arrange a Velux representative to train the Cathey Roofing team on correct flashing and shingling around a Velux skylight so that in the future they would not have a repeat of this problem. The shingles are actually bent and wavy around the skylights. Again we called Cathey Roofing and got no response. Finally, I texted Corey Cathey and laid out my concerns since he wouldn't return our calls. He stated that he would meet the Velux representative at our home and make it right. That has now been another ten days and Cathey Roofing will not answer the calls nor respond. The Velux rep has called and left two messages that have gone unanswered. The Velux folks have even gone to the address listed for the business but was not able to reach anybody. We have called and our calls and texts have been unanswered as well. Meanwhile, there is water damage and mold all over my living room ceiling from their poor quality installation. Any company can make a mistake. Reputable companies place a priority on correcting their mistakes because their reputation on the line. Cathey Roofing is intentionally evading having to correct their shotty workmanship. I do not recommend this roofing company and strongly suggest before requesting a quote you consider how very important it is for a company to stand behind their work. read more

Cathey Roofing repaired the leaking flashing around my chimney, something that was not properly addressed by a different roofing company a few years ago when the roof was replaced. They showed up promptly, replaced the flashing and made it look much better too. I found the work to be very good quality, and very polite workers. I called Cathey Roofing on Friday night and they came Monday morning at 6:45 a.m. and completely tore off the shingles on the house and two out buildings. They were very respectful, hardworking, honest, clean and were extremely easy to work with. I highly recommend this roofer. They are the best people I have ever worked with while remodeling our house. They did a fantastic job and finished in one day, leaving around 8 p.m. It was nearly 100 that day and I had a black roof put on. The house is 2400 sf and the buildings were 8 x 10 and 12 x 20. Cathey Roofing did an excellent job installing our rolled roof. The roof was originally installed 7 years ago and we have had nothing but trouble since the 2nd year. Corey of Cathey Roofing explained the problems with a solution. Within a week the crew was here and a day and half later our problem was solved. We've since had heavy rain and high winds and we HAVE NOT had any leaks. Cathey Roofing's crew was polite, answered all our questions and kept us in the loop as to what they were doing. Cathey Roofing did an amazing job for us. I can't say enough about their honesty, professionalism, and care for their customers. Not only were they the only roofers willing to help us out of a jam when our roof was leaking into our home, when the tarp didn't cut it, they were back out to put a patch in place ASAP until they could fit us into their schedule (which was very quickly). The roof looks amazing, the site was cleaned up pristinely. Photos were taken throughout the job to explain the process so you understood everything. They helped you work with your insurance as well if needed. Communication was wonderful as well. I would highly recommend Cathey Roofing to anyone needing roof or gutter work. I'd also give them more than 5 stars if that was an option because they deserve it. read more

Cathey Roofing did work for me back in November 2018. The work was good, however at times there was a language barrier between us and the workers. When they removed the satellite, they did not put it back on correctly. We informed them before they left for the day, and they said it was back on correctly, however; we had no signal and tried exampling that. Due to the language barrier we got nowhere. Several days later when a representative came out to survey the work, we mentioned the satellite issue again, at this time we called the satellite company and they informed us it would $99 for them to come out. We told the representative from Cathey this and he said "of I will tell the owner I'm sure he will work out something". Today as of January 13, 2019 we have not heard from them. I'm writing this review so people using Cathey Roofing know that if they remove your satellite you will more than likely have to pay extra to have it re-positioned. This is something they do not mention to you as worse case scenario. read more
