After following someone else in we proceeded to wait in her lobby for about 10mins. 20mins late she came out, brought us back. We talked about insurance and my $30 copay and how that all worked (honestly we prob talked about insurance and money for 5mins) After explaining the ins. she let us know she was just going to ask "exploratory" questions to see what was going on. By the end of her "exploration" she stated we fought a lot.....yes that's why we came....but that there wasn't anything "wrong" and she wouldn't be billing our insurance. We were then also told that IF she had found something wrong, billing our insurance would cause problems later as we would have a "mental health defect". THEN told us that the session would cost $230.00 due immediately. Never was the full session price discussed, She did gave us this list to take home......We already practice everything on this list and discussed that with her prior to her writing it out as a $230 prescription. (Which I changed the verbiage from "rules for fighting" to "ideas for conscious communication" At a time when my family was vulnerable, hurting, and reaching out....she took advantage. Neither one of these covered the provider and question yet I was told she was under both initially and in fact she was under neither. I won't mention the provider's name because this is not her fault but is seriously problematic.

I wouldn't want anyone to lose their job but if they don't want to be there and don't want any more patient customer service then they don't need to be there in my opinion and also I've been in business for 40 years.
