Cathy is awesome. If you're having stubborn/chronic pain, just do yourself a favor and go see her. I could write an essay about all the back problems I've had over the year, especially the past year, but I'll keep it short. Cathy gets to the root of the issue because she's able to look at the body as a whole. I've had about 15 different professionals (orthos, chiros, PTs, massage therapists) do work on me the past year, trying to figure out what's "wrong" with me. None of these other professionals were able to fully figure it out, and I was only getting bits and pieces of understanding and temporary relief. Cathy assessed me and determined most of my problem was coming from my HIPS, which nobody else really looked at. So I was able to finally get answers and PEACE OF MIND, which is paramount when you're dealing with chronic pain. Her adjustment style is very interesting and unique, and more importantly GETS RESULTS. When you've had improper movement patterns for 10-20+ years, a deep tissue massage isn't going to cut it. I felt immediate pain relief and increased mobility after each session. And the homework was extensive and detailed, so I can continue my journey at home. Cathy knows how to REALLY make a difference with your body. She makes big changes, helps you make changes yourself and helps you understand everything. I highly recommend her. I came to her after having some trapezius palsy (weakness) on the right side. I just couldn't hit my tennis forehand properly. My right trap looked almost atrophied in comparison with my left. She did a lot of work to mobilize my hips, shoulders and elbow. After a few sessions, my traps look perfectly symmetrical now and I can even move around the court so much better and with more confidence due to the regained mobility in my hip joints. I was referred to Cathy by a friend and was experiencing some wrist pain. This was my first experience with a physical therapist so I didn't quite know what to expect. Cathy's Office is a cute and clean studio. For the initial one hour session she covers a lot of ground and will send you home with some exercises to complete to help your issue. I came back a second time to ease the pain and Cathy did cupping on my arm. With most medical things, the success is based on the patient to do the work. I made an appointment with Cathy after hurting my back while picking something up. Never have I had back issues but in addition to this I also had a sore hip on my other side from running. My level of pain was high- also unusual for me. I explained my issues and she really listened. Cathy has been the PT I've been looking for since moving to Orlando. Growing up playing sports and lifting weights, I've always found myself with nagging issues and I always dread going to new PT's because you never know what you're going to get. The majority of the time, you go to a PT and they might work on you for 5 mins (if that long) and then they send you to their assistant who half watches you do the same exercises you can do at home. That's always been my frustration and what I look to avoid. Which is the total opposite approach you get here. You get a full hour of meaningful time, which will include plenty of hands on work, as well as her showing you the proper form on exercises to do at home. She'll also send you home with "homework" and helpful video links to perfect your form. I've known Cathy for about five years, and for about five years have heard about the amazing things she does with patients. And for about five years I have said, eh, maybe I'll come in for a visit. I had my go at "regular" physical therapy about 14 years ago when my knees first started hurting me. X-rays at an orthopedic surgeon's office showed my kneecaps were both twisted to the sides. The main option was surgery, but I didn't want that and instead saw the PT the doctor recommended that took my insurance. After using resistance bands, and step work to strengthen my quads, and having my knees iced, I saw no improvement. That was my experience with Physical Therapy. No big whoop, nothing to write home about. My knees still hurt, and continued to worsen over the years, but I got around by shuffling down the stairs two feet at a time, and wearing knee braces. This was just my life now. But then some unbearable back pain a few months ago had my nearly crying every time I tried to bend down. I decided to FINALLY get a consultation with Cathy. Holy smokes, am I glad I did. That first session, she was able to determine that my hips were so wound up and tight, as well as my psoas and started work on me right away. Like, get all up on the problem areas and manually, physically start loosening the muscles. I immediately signed up for a package afterward as she also took a look at my knees and said she could be able to help. After a few sessions, she loosened me up enough to fully diagnose what was going on. Not only were my hips tight (thus causing all of the other issues with my knees, back, etc.), she determined that I had a slight herniated disk. Without skipping a beat, she adjusted the course of treatment, providing in depth homework and exercises for me to do on my own and provide relief anytime I felt pain coming on. To have a medical professional take her own time to create informative videos and how-to-guides for their patients and others to use is just amazing. Cathy puts the physical in physical therapy. She employs techniques such as cupping, soft tissue scraping, and digging deep into muscles to find the active releases that will ultimately provide relief. After a few weeks of working on my back, Cathy started working on my knees. I already knew this physical therapy was going to be different than the last person I had working on my knees. Copious cupping, scraping, and manual hands-on stretching resulted in my being able to actually squat without pain and start walking down steps like a normal person! The progress was not only visible in the activities I was able to do again (that I had not done in years), but Cathy had me sit down and look at my knees in the mirror. The kneecaps were definitely shifting back to center, where they should have been. My only regret is not knowing Cathy 14 years ago when I first started experiencing knee pain. If she had done for me then what she did for me now, my active lifestyle might have been so different. I could have probably liked running when I tried to take it up. Hahaha nah, who am I kidding? Running is not in my blood, especially in this Florida Heat. SO maybe running has always been out of the picture for me, but Cathy has opened up my eyes to what living a pain-free life might actually be like. I'm so so so so so glad I found Cathy. read more

I'm so glad that I found Cathy. I had been suffering from vertigo and dizziness for months and had not received any kind of treatment options other than to wait it out. Physical therapy was not new to me as I had suffered many injuries from cheerleading, cycling and just general poor form. I was referred to Cathy from a coworker. If you are having any type of lower back pain, you really need to see Cathy. I suffer from episodes of lower back pain. I could barely sit for longer than 10 minutes and driving to work brought me to tears. After seeing Cathy, I am actually able to drive pain free. Cathy was able to help me return to being functional enough to regularly exercise. I'm someone who has tendinitis on my right arm, and shoulder instability on the left shoulder. I originally went to see a physical therapist at the UCF gym back when I was a student, and the exercises they gave me either didn't improve my tendinitis nor shoulder instability. In fact, I think my tendinitis got worse from seeing the UCF physical therapist. I pretty much decided I should stop lifting weights: I wasn't getting stronger, I just kept making my elbow progressively worse, and for 2 years I was like that. Later on, my old room mate Zach was experiencing constant pain trying to use his hands, and it was literally ruining his life. He was told by a hand surgeon that he had carpal and cubital tunnel in both arms and elbows, and for his hands to be pain free, he would need 4 consecutive surgeries on his hands and elbows. And even after the 4 surgeries, the symptoms might return anyways. At some point afterwards, Zach was recommended to go get physical therapy from Cathy. Cathy said that it's extremely rare for someone to have carpal and cubital tunnel in both arms. She figured out that it was thoracic outlet syndrome, which didn't require any surgeries, just 1 month of physical rehab. A month later, Zach's hands were functional again and he got his life back. And in terms of cost, it was only 4 sessions with Cathy * $150 = $600 total. WAY cheaper than the surgery route that the hand surgeon was telling him, with way less human suffering / time lost. Not to mention the surgeries the hand surgeon told Zach he "needed" wouldn't have even helped Zach since the root of his problem (Thoracic Outlet Syndrome) wasn't what the 4 surgeries were even targeting... This is what got me to decide to give physical therapy another shot. I got physical therapy for my elbow and shoulder at the physical therapy place where Cathy worked at the the time, and it actually worked, and I returned to normal lifting. I didn't see Cathy for my tendinitis and shoulder instability, I saw her a couple months afterwards for another incident... A couple months later, I ended up spraining my left ankle. Basically I was carrying some stuff down a hill in Virginia and stepped on a rock that was large enough to roll my ankle on. For 1 month, I kept on googling how to rehab and treat my ankle myself, and I wasn't seeing any healing progress... feeling like I couldn't do this by myself, I decided I needed physical therapy again. This time I got to see the Physical Therapist that helped out my room mate: I got to see Cathy. She's been absolutely wonderful. She figured out that my ankle wasn't healing correctly, and she used suction cups and various other techniques to put my ankle back in the right place, and gave exercises to help me regain the strength and movement range of my left ankle. The exercises she gave me were different from what I looked up, and worked far more effectively. I'm almost at 100% on my left ankle. Recently I decided to try doing a 2 mile run with my left ankle brace on for support, and I was able to do it PAIN FREE! And I only had to see Cathy for 4 visits. read more

I went to Cathy thinking I had knee problems -which I do but was stemming from hip from years of improper/poor posture and mechanics.. I will have to say I have seen her for multiple sessions and continue to go. I don't think there is any other PT in town that is as hands on as Cathy. Went to see Cathy to try and address severe nerve pain in my neck and shoulder due to stenosis. Neurologist and pain management had given me a pretty grim outlook, but I didn't want to accept that there was nothing that could be done to address symptoms other than injections and pain management. Cathy evaluated my symptoms and range of motion, and by the end of my first session, my symptoms were significantly reduced. She also noticed the limitations I experience due to disk issues in my lower back and put together a plan to help alleviate discomfort and improve range of motion. She has given me hope that my condition is not a life sentence, and paid close attention to my feelings and concerns. I was referred to Cathy by my husband. He had been seeing her for several weeks to address neck and shoulder pain. He was so happy with the treatment (and wouldn't stop talking about it) that I decided to give her a try. I had just given birth to my 2nd child and was having lower back and hip pain. I'm 49 years old. Have been dealing with lower back pain for a year. Two months ago it got bad enough that I derided to do something about it. I have seen Cathy for a bad shoulder before and had a full recovery. Wanted to see if she can do anything about it. It has been four visits now and will not see Cathy for a while. The first visit was more of an evaluation to see what is causing the pain. Cathy determined it was my hips not having proper mechanics and misalignment. I got some immediate relief from stretching and being aligned. Over the next two appointment Cathy proceeded to teach me the proper mechanics and breaking up some tight muscles with a myofascial release(painful but worth it). Between appointments I followed provided videos to restore range of motion to my hips. With each visit I got more relief. Five days ago for the first time I woke up with no pain. I finally feel like I am on the road to recovery. Today a the last visit, Cathy was able to get my left hip into proper position. The right hip almost made it. I will continue the homework over the next couple of months and might see Cathy again to see if we can get the right hip in proper alignment. All that said I felt nurtured and cared for.
