Without a doubt, best butter pecan ice cream in the world! The ice cream base is so buttery and flavorful. Most of the pecans are whole halves and not tiny chopped pieces like so many places. The scoops are extremely generous. You really get what you pay for. They have a variety of unique, interesting flavors. If you are a chocolate fan, you must try their chocolate decadence. I tried a raspberry sundae with vanilla custard! The custard was fluffy yet creamy and you could tell the raspberry topping was made in-house. Tonight was our first time trying Cathy's! Can't believe I've driven by this shop so many times and never thought to stop by (not sure why.) I am a LOVER of waffle cones and Cathy's did not disappoint -- so hot and fresh, made in front of you! The homemade hand scoop ice cream was also delicious. I've always like Cathy's but the prices have became absolutely outrageous. For 2 medium cones, small cone, baby cone, popsicle and a medium slush should not be costing $40+ dollars. I know inflation is bad. But that's just greedy. Turns out my neighbor was also over charged for their order. Not quite sure why everyone raves about this place when there are so many better choices in the area, like Modern Cone that gets a 5/5 from me. I was craving just a taste of ice cream and so I stopped at Cathy's for a scoop. I decided on the Turtle Food, which is a vanilla ice cream with swirls of fudge and caramel, with pecans mixed in. After going to Modern so much, I expected a single scoop to be more like a double- especially for the cost- as I was sharing it with my teen son. You guys, I asked for a single and literally got just that. Not to mention, there's nothing that makes Cathy's standout. Their "homemade" ice cream is just as homemade as any other local ice cream shop. Sorry, Cathy's, but you get a solid D in my book. This was definitely a lesson learned. read more

About the only advantage Lori's Lick Em Up has over this place is indoor seating. And since these are seasonal locations, most of the time, you'll want to eat outside anyway, so, there goes that. Parking situation stinks but I can't image there is much that can be done about it. 1 star - Quality - The soft serve ice cream was awesome. I had an avalanche and the GF had a single scoop cone and we both loved them. 1 star - Variety - Types of ice cream dishes were standard but a few of the flavors (honey soft serve with cinnamon powder on top) were unique compared to other ma and pa places around. 1 star - Overall menu - I did not try any of the baked goods but will definitely consider visiting in the future based on the quality of the ice cream experience. I do not know which was better, the homemade cinnamon honey ice cream (amazing!), or the warm home made waffle cone (amazing!). All I can say is that both together were OUT OF THIS WORLD! This is not cheap ice cream it was about $4 for a double scoop, but well worth the money.
