This boarding and daycare for cats and dogs is a little pricier than other places in the area, but it's worth it to make the pup feel comfortable while we're out of town. On two occasions I had to call to make a last minute reservation because other places were booked, and catnips n biscuits saved the day. Staff is super attentive, honest, and caring with my pup. I noticed at some other places, my dog gets nervous to go in when he's being boarded, but when he goes here he's actually excited. They don't put collars on the pups while they're being boarded. Personally, I like this because my pup doesn't have one at home. I can see how it might make other people nervous, but this works for us. After one of our last visits, he didn't get to receive a bath that we paid for, but staff reached out to us and told us this. They gave us a credit for our next stay. It's definitely a dog place. The cats are kept in a windowless room with no visual stimulation. There are TVs in the room but the two times I was in the room, they weren't on. The cages are small and with SOLID fronts - no ventilation except for a few small holes. I heard a fan but I don't know if it was circulating in the cages. If there were a power outage, the kitties would have no way of getting air. Very restrictive hours for dropping off and picking up. My cat is a diabetic and has to have insulin twice a day. When they gave me back his unused medication, there was a dose that was not given. read more

They saved me on short notice! I could not find a pet friendly place to stay and they took great care of my fur baby. make sure you have your pets records with you when your pet travels with you! This business saved our road trip. I had booked a hotel in downtown Savannah with a pet-friendly policy. I randomly found out that morning that the hotel only accepted dogs and we were traveling with a cat (relocating). Thank goodness I learned this annoying fact well before we rolled into Savannah. I frantically searched the web for cat boarding facilities. CnB were the ONLY business to actually call me back -- and very quickly, too. They had room for the cat, the online registration was a breeze, and the timing worked out for us. Of course, the cat was not happy but when is a cat ever happy? I think her overnight stay made her appreciate us more the next day. HA! CnB were great. Watching the web cam was cool. No complaints and definitely lots of gratitude here for helping us at the last minute. They are not too far out of downtown -- maybe 10-minute drive at most? Just picked up my BFF from a 5-night stay. He is in great spirits and totally tuckered our so it seems like he had a great time! All in all I would say that I had a good experience with this business and will use them again. The total for my dogs 5-night stay plus temperament test was $330. There was confusion at the start of my reservation about a deposit. Online it said a deposit was required so I called ahead of time to list my CC on file but when I called was told there was no deposit. Also online said that my dog would need a temperament test pre-visit but when I called they said they would just do it when I dropped him off (that was a big plus). When I did arrive to drop my baby off the gentleman at the reception asked for both a deposit and if my dog had had his temperament test... I was kind of dumbfounded because I had specifically called ahead of time to ensure I had all my facts correct. He and another employee went back and forth for a bit but then it was decided that since they had my CC on file all would work out. The gentleman was also a bit preturbed that I hadn't pre-measured my dogs food in individual baggies (I had no idea I was supposed to or else I would have... to be fair, I could have overlooked that policy). The other lady who seemed much more hospitable told me not to worry about it, she was very sweet. I called and checked on Boone twice and they were pretty great about giving me an update. My only improvement/suggestion would be to ensure that all employees are informed about all the policies so that customers get the correct info, to make sure the rooms are cleaned well pre-visit (his was still was dirty when we arrived but they cleaned it right away). I really liked the personalized report when we came to get him, that was really great to have. read more

No joke, I'm a pet sitter and they gave me the INCORRECT CAT. then they had no idea which cat was in what kennel or had what carrier, etc. took about 20-30 minutes to figure out and I almost took home someone else's pet. This needs to be investigated and fixed before its a bigger problem. They did not ask for ID or even who I was, and just gave me the animals with their stuff. Wow! I was looking for doggy daycare for my puppy. Similar to the other negative reviewers, I found the staff to be unprofessional and rude when speaking to them on the phone. I then checked Yelp to read what others are saying. After reading the owners/managers response to her customers, it's clear that this is an unprofessional business. This place is aweful and will not be returning. I wouldn't trust them with my dog ever again. They nickel and dime you for every little thing, and they're not freindly about it at all. They don't allow your dog to "play" with other dogs unless you pay more money while boarding. So the rich dogs get to play while the poor dogs sit in cages. Really humane... I took my dog there 3 times, bc i had to go out of town, and they charged me extra money to get my dog back until the next day because i had scheduled a different pick up time, even though they were still open when i came to get her. I've been bringing my two dogs to daycare. Good things about this place, they get the job done, meaning my pups stay safe, are well cared for, and they come home tired. What I've noticed they don't do or have is: zero people skills, don't expect to get great customer service or get any communication on how their business is run or how they do things, I only get information when I have to ask specific questions. I hope this place improves on their customer service because I understand the difference between treating my dogs great and treating 'us' great, but most customers dont separate the two, to them, it's either overall good service, or overall bad service. Don't get me wrong, they are nice, but customer service doesn't only include being nice when I drop and pick up my dogs. They definitely don't go the extra step to explain WHAT they are doing behind those closed doors unless you prod them for it. read more

I have had about a year long relationship boarding my dog there. No complains in terms how they treat the pets. Customer service for the human owners however is a different issue. Very often rude, extremely unhelpful and not friendly at all. I am sorry but if I am spending $60 a day to board my dog I would like to be treated at least semi decent. Just picked up my dog from here - it was her second grooming session here. I have to agree with other posters that the front desk staff is not the most friendly or attentive .. they are just sort of there and if you wait to be waited on then you'll stand there for quite some time before someone helps you. The groomer is very nice and if I were to return it would only be because of her. However, with that being said ... this was my dogs second groom here and I was asked to drop her off between 8am and 9am .. I dropped her off at 9am ... was checked in only after waiting at least 15 minutes while one employee helped a customer and two other employees just seemed to sit at the desks located behind the checkin counter staring at their computer screens ... with no acknowledgement of waiting customers ... no good morning ... no f'off ... nothing ... oh and there was one employee who was watching a TV on the left side of the checkin area who seemed to be taking a video-traning class on how to care for animals in a daycare setting ... so self-guided training at best ... probably not the best training ... I was called by the facility just after 3:30pm and told I could pick up my dog. I picked her up around 4:15pm ... and I noticed when the groomer brought her out that her back legs seemed a bit damp ... the groomer had commented that she didn't like her legs brushed so I assumed that maybe they had just not brushed out her back legs ... After getting into my car and driving out onto Skidaway I noticed the smell of urine ... I reached over and touched my dogs back legs ... and both of her hind legs and her bottom and belly were soaked in urine ... Now ... I would expect this from say ... PetSMart ... but they only keep your dogs under 2-3 hours so typically no need to walk the dog for potty breaks ... however, when my dog is there from 9am-4pm I would expect her to be allowed to go potty somewhere other than on her freshly groomed coat ... what's the point in the groom at this point?? I did call the facility back and spoke with a young lady who answered the phone and she was cordial when I explained that I had just left and that my dog's rear end and legs and belly were soaked in urine ... she indicated that they typically DO take the dogs out for a walk to ensure this doesn't happen but she said obviously today that didn't happen ... she apologized and that was it ... I would have at least liked to have been offered a complimentary bath and brush ... After all ... I had to come home and bathe my poor dog again ... so the $54 groom I had that day was pretty much a waste. read more

I brought my dog to be boarded at catnip-n-biscuits over the weekend as my usual place was booked and this place was not, even with short notice around the holiday. When I walked in to drop my dog and again to pickup there was not warmth or rapport. The staff greeted me but without a smile. When I dropped him the staff announced I needed to bring food to them or they would go buy food and charge me a $20 fee for getting the food. This was not disclosed in the multiple conversations I had with Courtney while setting up the reservation. I told her this and she shrugged. On pickup the dog was supposed to be bathed and groomed. The groomer called and told me my dog was ready for pickup. I came to pickup and found he was groomed exactly opposite of my verbal and written instructions and opposite of what a typical cut is for the breed (springer, shave the body/head, leave the fringe). I asked why he was cut opposite of what I had written down. The girl who brought my dog out went to get the groomer to answer. The groomer, Jenna came out inflamed and aggravated. She raised her voice at me, she was angry that she did not know about the written instructions. She was just generally angry and aggressive. She royally messed up my dogs cut, offered no apology for the misunderstanding and finished by yelling "don't come back" as I walked out. She did refund my payment. I think they're great. I use them for my boarding of my dog and cat as well as daycare for my dog. They are very transparent about their pricing and I really like that they do evaluations. It makes me feel safer knowing my dog is with other dogs that aren't aggressive. When my cat was boarded over thanksgiving she even got a special thanksgiving meal and I was told how much of a love bug she is. Pretty appalled by their customer service. Inquired about getting my dog evaluation to stay in their overnight care while we're on our wedding/honeymoon. I liked the idea of having webcams and comfortable beds available for the dogs while we're away. Knowing they'd need med records ahead of time, I was sure to contact the vet for those. Turns out their "evaluation" hours are at 9am and 9:30am. I was taking her in at 9:36am and they couldn't accommodate that. Looks like we'll be taking our dog to a place that is willing to accommodate a difference of 6 minutes in drop off time. Oh and our dog is 50lbs which puts her apparently in the "large category 50-90lbs" therefore extra $$ for her to stay. The woman on the phone was so rude and unprofessional. Yikes. We are full-time RVers traveling through Savannah. Our RV needed service and they kept it longer than expected, so Catnip N Biscuits took care of our two cats for us until our home was ours again. They got an adjoining suite and a room to roam in, and were given lots of lovin' by the staff. There's even a webcam you can check on them remotely if you like. When we arrived to pick them up they were calm and content. The staff was accommodating to our last-minute arrival and unpredictable scheduling and the price was fair. Would not hesitate to use their services if we find ourselves in Savannah again. read more

I've used Catnip N Biscuits for boarding and daycare or my dog for about 10 months. No issues with the facility or the staff. I think they treated my dog well and he seemed to enjoy being there. The owner decided that my dog couldn't continue in daycare because he was apparently not playing nice with some of the other dogs. I had purchased a daycare package and only used half of it. I was told they don't give refunds so the owner basically stole 50% of what I paid. She offered no options, like services or products to make up for it. I would have been happy with that. Based on my experience with this facility and the lack of taking responsibility, I would not recommend using them for your pet. I traveled out of state, and therefore tried to keep informed as to how my dogs were doing. I was given positive feedback. A day later, I was told one of my dogs had an eye infection but it was not that bad. They said they would give me an update on the following day. It was difficult getting in touch with them and the cameras never worked during the stay. I left two messages and received a call back mid morning. Again no indication was given that the infection was worth a trip to the vet. I was on my way back and was getting anxious as this dog never had allergies or eye infections before. Once there, I was shocked to see her eyes were very swollen and very red. Her eyes looked upward they were so swollen. It was obvious she needed immediate medical care. I was disgusted with the caretaker's apologies and loaded the dogs into the car for a rush trip to the ER vet. This facility took no blame for their lack of care. In fact the owner said even though a patron signs the medical release form to take your pet to a vet, you have to tell them to do so. Be aware. You are entrusting your pet to the "medical" opinions of caretakers that work there in the back. The owner would not pay for the over $100 vet bill. I'll never go back. read more

I chose this facility to board my dog based on its reviews. I have used daycares and boarding facilities throughout Augusta and Atlanta and have had wonderful experiences. It has always been my practice to check on my pet throughout his stay and was never informed that there would be no means of communication with the facility throughout the weekend. The office phone is only accessible Monday through Friday. I scheduled my dog's boarding appointment 2 weeks in advance. I completed the paperwork online and scheduled the weekend boarding dates. I called the day I was to board my pet and was told they did not have the reservation. I paid $30 for a temperament test, so he could be in daycare Saturday. I was never contacted to let me know if he passed his test. Saturday I tried to view the webcam to check on my dog. The cameras were not working. I called to check on him and that's when I realized there was no phone service available on the weekends. I then sent an email to please call me. I received a call 3-4 hours later and was told my dog passed his test and he was in daycare. They said he was not playing with any other dogs and sitting alone. This did not make me feel at ease. I asked about the cameras and the employee told me they were broken. I was not aware that they provided very limited access for checking on your pet's welfare. My charge for a weekend stay of $170 delivered such a poor quality of service. This experience resulted in a very stressful weekend and I was constantly worrying about my dog. I urge other dog lovers to do their research before making a boarding choice. Before I posted this review I contacted the owner to express my concerns, but her attitude did not clarify any questions or reduce any concerns I had as a result of this experience. read more

Don't be fooled (as I was) by the information and pictures on the website. I am an out-of-state tourist and wanted a place to leave our dog so I could spend the day shopping and eating in Savannah. I was not happy with their rule that 8:00 am was the latest drop-off time and 5:00pm was the earliest pick up time, but I accepted these hours in order to have good care for my dog. I also made arrangements for him to have a bath, and I was told that he would be taken out for a walk three times during his stay. I also learned that a day of boarding, cash price is $20.00, with extra cost for bathing. So off I went to enjoy the day while my dog was being well cared for. I arrived for pick up of my dog at 4:59 pm and sat in my car for a couple of minutes so that I could be sure that I was following the rules. When I saw my dog, I realized he had not been bathed and the kennel pad that I sent with him was soaked with urine. No explanation was given by the "tech" as to why my dog had not been bathed, in fact, he seemed not to know that had even been on the schedule. Then he handed me the soaked kennel pad. I was very upset by this because my dog is fully trained to go outside, and I can't imagine the stress he was under to have used it on his pad. It made me wonder if he had been taken outside at all. The tech was not authorized to take money, so the next day I spoke to the manager over the phone. Excuses but no apology were made for the terrible service, much less trauma my dog went through. And to top it off, I was informed that the service was $25.00, not the $20.00 I had been quoted. Of course, a check is going out to them for $25.00, because unlike these people, I do play by the rules and I hold myself to a standard that requires that I do what I say I am going to do. If I could have given a rating of zero, I would have done so. read more

We went camping up in Savannah for a few weeks and brought the fur kids. As dog friendly as Savannah is, we needed to board the guys for a couple of days. Catnip and Biscuit staff were very helpful and welcoming. Their prices are a bit higher than our regular place at home ($50 bucks a day for each dog) and grooming was a bit more, but well worth it. My dog has been visiting Catnip N Biscuits Daycare for approximately 9 months and I could not be happier with the experience. I love the fact that when I enter the facility, the staff instantly recognizes Gabbi and greets her by name. Furthermore, they take the time to make sure she uses her manners - making her sit calmly before she walks through the gate/doors, and ensuring that she is respectful of the people handling her - this is SO important to me that they are reinforcing all the effort I've put into training her! All the staff are experienced in handling dogs with varying temperament/training. I also highly respect the fact that they strictly enforce up-to-date vaccinations and re-orientation after long lapses in visits. We've been victim to both and while it may be slightly inconvenient for some, it further ensures for me that they place a high priority on my dog's and the other's health and safety -- I can trust that my dog is safe. I've read several reviews complaining about the long lines @ drop off/pick up...we should all keep in mind that we are dealing with dogs, everything is unpredictable. Catnip is very flexible by not requiring exact drop-off and pick-up times - so yes, sometimes it will get a little crowded. I have always felt the staff did everything they could to get us in/out in the most timely manner. Lastly, I love the webcams! If you've ever checked in during the day, it's obvious the staff is extremely attentive to all the animals - which also makes me comfortable knowing there is always someone in the yard monitoring them. They sent us a professional letter explaining everything in great detail, and they included an article about how some dogs simply don't enjoy daycare environments. I started taking my girl (Charlie) when she was a young pup. Just to get her socialized with other dogs. She has had such a great time in the past 5 months. She is loved and cared for like she belongs to them. I have never had a problem except she comes home too tired. Well too tired to walk with me in the evenings. She loves going and knows when I get ready for work and pull out her leash it will be a good day. Best place I could have ever found. Thanks to everyone there, and thanks for taking care of my girl. The staff is overall unfriendly, unhelpful, and disinterested in your business unless your dog is a perfect, happy, well behaved pet. I have an older dog who has anxiety, doesn't like men, and doesn't like female dogs- overall high needs dog. So I get it- she's a pill. That's why I wanted to spend 50$+ a night on the nicest place in Savannah, to make sure she had the least stressful experience while being boarded. But I have boarded my dog at a lot of places over the years around the country, and she has been fine after she's gotten used to it. And this place has the most absurd application process and rudest staff. Based on the amount of questions, I felt like I was applying to be a member of the CIA, not merely have my dog boarded. After I filled out the online application process (in which i listed out some of my dog's issues) , the owner called me and said she had a lot of concerns and needed to see my dog in person for an evaluation. Her overall tone was dismissive and disinterested. I could tell from the phone call that she didn't want my dog to board there. She is just an abrasive person, so if you value customer service - go elsewhere. Just read some of her responses to the bad yelp reviews. She's even rude there. After just an hour after I dropped my dog off, the owner called me and said it wasn't working out and that my dog was just too stressed out. I really don't see how they could've made such a decision after just one hour. My dog is 14 years old and takes a while to warm up to a place. One hour isn't going to cut it. It was just obvious that they had no interest in boarding my dog- and I really wish they would've told me that from the beginning and not wasted my time and money. Almost all the other facilities I called were totally booked up, but Catnip and Biscuits had a lot of availability. I should've taken that as a sign. My two Scottish terriers LOVE Catnip n Biscuit's Doggie DayCare. What a wonderful business to have in Savannah, filling a need for pet owners. I have been a client since summer 2010 and am confident my Scotties are well-treated & safe. Being formerly abused puppy mill rescue dogs, they have bloomed in the presence of other dogs and have learned how to play and get along. They come home tired and happy. Catnip n Biscuits is clean and spacious and on rainy days, the indoor play yards are just where my Scotties like to be. We have used the boarding facilities and I am pleased to have webcam access to my dogs at anytime they are at Catnip n Biscuits. The employees take pride in their work and it shows in how they interact with both clients and their dogs and cats. We love it here and so does our dog! The staff is so courteous, and the other reviews of this place blow my mind. They have exceptionally long hours so that they can accommodate most anyone! When we first dropped off our dog here, someone sat down with us and went over our dog's behavior and habits so they would know what to expect. Then we watched via their webcam as they gently introduced her to new dogs to see how she would interact. I was amazed at the level of personal care and attention they give their new dogs. I picked up our dog after work, and she was so tired after a great day of fun! We took her back two days later and we're taking her back tomorrow. I see complaints about the policies and rules here, but everything is 100% for the good of the animals. These are true animal lovers, and I know our dog is in good hands when she is there. read more

I just moved here and I was very concerned about my puppy being alone all day- I checked out all the daycares in the area and decided Catnip n Biscuits would be the best choice. The staff members were very sweet about my concerns and the webcam was great for the first day jitters! The rates at this daycare are pretty reasonable- believe me. There are definitely other daycares in the area that only take the dogs out a few times a day to play, and are very dirty. The Catnip and Biscuits staff were happy to show me around and the facilities are very clean. They also have the dogs play all day with a nap time in the middle- perfect for someone that would prefer to have their dog tired and happy when they come home- not stressed and hyper. My puppy slept all the following day and was excited to get in the car to go again a few days later! The staff members all got to know her and I noticed they had even toweled her down after her playing with their garden hose all day! Most daycares will hand your dog back to you in whatever condition it manages to get itself into, regardless of how dirty they get. Things like charging extra for extra services are normal for any doggie daycare. Its a business. For twenty bucks (if you pay cash, they have package deals as well), you will have your dog in a clean, happy environment with an attendant all day- as opposed to other places that will throw in a crappy trim for free but keep your dog locked up all day with a few potty breaks for the same amount. read more
