At one point the girlfriend began to walk towards a trash bin near the restrooms to throw away a paper she had from earlier....all of a sudden an older woman employee came up and literally snatched the hat away from her hands!! She then proceeded to make a rude comment and took the hat to the front cash register. My adult children were stunned and then noticed another employee kept following them around the store!!! Upon being told this, I went to the front register but could not find the older woman. I let the girls at the front what had occurred, how appalled I was, and how I wouldn't spend a dime in their store. This was something that my kids and I have never experienced before at any store. Unfortunately, upon searching reviews this appears to happen alot. I wholeheartedly would NEVER recommend this place to anyone I care about. Skip this place...not worth it at all.

Threads Boutique and Consignment is located in an area off of Dixie Hwy that has a number of…read moreantique, thrift, and consignment stores in Vero Beach. In the same plaza as Threads is the Antique Workshop and Estate Sales of Vero Beach. There is some parking in front of the building but also in a gravel lot on the side. This cute boutique is actually quite large and has two rooms selling gently used, name brand clothes and accessories from Tory Burch, Louis Vuitton, Johnny Was, and Lilly Pulitzer to name a few. I especially loved the colorful Lily Pulitzer dresses. They have a sale system where one star is 25 percent off and 2 star is 50 percent off. Since this is consignment expect higher prices than say a thrift store but still discounted off of retail price. Note that all sales are final, no exceptions. Unfortunately I came in 15 minutes before closing and they sure let me know it. Perhaps if I find myself in the area again I'll come back (earlier).

The items were then given to the people who worked on them or were resold. Goodwill's philosophy is "a hand up, not a hand out". Today Goodwill has become a $5 billion nonprofit organization that provides job training, employment, and community programs for people who have disabilities that might prevent them from getting a job on their own. I was in the area so I decided to check out this Goodwill in Sebring. It was completely different than any other Goodwill I have been to. They still had the same racks of clothes I am used to but they also carried a wide range of brand new household decor items including art, rugs, and decorations. One large part of the store was roped off and it contained hundreds of brand new Halloween costumes in bags. It was a far cry from the one rack of used mismatched costume pieces I have seen Goodwill stores carry in the fall. This store also carries brand new mattresses. This Goodwill resembled more of a Big Lots than the Goodwills I am used to. The prices were on par with those of discount retailer Big Lots as well. They even sell snacks up front. I inquired about what they sell and was told it was new and thrift items. The new items had been donated to them. I don't know if this store is unique or the way Goodwill wants to move in the future. Everything was clean and displayed nicely. I really wanted to find out more about this store but unfortunately they were getting ready to close for the night. If I lived in Sebring I would be a regular customer at this store.

They were very helpful and personable. They took the time to tell you about the pieces in the store and offered fashion tips. I was really impressed by their level of interaction with the customers. Their customer service was impeccable and it made me feel like I was valued. I think they should be rewarded for excellent customer service.
