It was Saturday night and we went to dinner with our neighbor. The place was pretty empty and I don't know why the food was awesome but the service was a little slow I had a margarita and chicken quesadilla which was awesome , my hubby had a burrito dinner and friend had the steak fajitas. Surprisingly delicious!!!! It's next to a hotel so I did not think it was going to be that good. I had the deviled shrimp and a margarita!!!! My husband had the carnitas in green salsa so good!!!!! Authentic Mexican food for sure ... without the handmade tortillas lol read more

I've eaten here many times as had my family. The food is delicious and very traditional. Give it a try as soon as possible.

In a dark hotel seemed creepy to me until we went in!!! This place is delicious & they always serve warm chips!!! Their salsa you can taste the cilantro so yummy and their queso is so delish!!! Solid 5 stars! Our family of five went for dinner, and were immediately greeted by very friendly staff who walked us to our table. There is lots of space and fun Dia de Los Muertos decorations... It is also very, very clean. There was lots to choose from on the menu, so there will be something for everybody (including picky eaters). We started with a complementary basket of chips, homemade salsa (which was so incredibly tasty), and bean dip - so good! Our meals came out quickly and were absolutely delicious plus the portion sizes were enormous! This is the first time in years we've had to ask for boxes to bring home leftovers (I am already looking forward to them) - and the price was just right! We are only in Maggie Valley for a few days, but are going to definitely squeeze another trip to Catrina's before we leave. read more

We were looking for Mexican so we decided to try Catrinas. We were met and seated promptly, all of the other service was quick, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was great, everything was served very hot. The portions were large, I had fajitas and couldn't eat the entire serving. I had a good chicken fajita salad for lunch with the leftovers. The place is very nice but maybe trying to be a little too fancy for a Mexican restaurant. The food was good and plenty of it but a little pricey. The lettering on the menu is so small you need a magnifying glass. I never offered to have my tea refilled. I'll go back and try it again. read more

Food was warm.. at best. Service sucked. Took 10 min to even get a tea and water. Never got a refill it got to order adult beverages. Waitress never came back to our table. Guess we were not bringing enough revenue in to Warrant servicing. Didn't get our appetizer. States they were short staffed but had a 100 person party arriving. Shouldn't have booked it! Better than average. A HUGE surprise for Maggie Valley restaurants... we come up 2-3 times a year and we would definitely eat here again. Notes: they don't offer salsa but serve beans with chips. The fajitas are well seasoned. The chimichanga is fried and yummy. AVOID THE WEAK MARGARITAS. I ordered a double and its worse than a normal one from your local Mexican joint. read more

Food was nice. Ambience was fine for a restaurant located inside a hotel. I also appreciated the fact that they were opened past 8pm because it seems like every other place closes at 8pm in Maggie Valley. The waitress was very sweet and did a good job of serving us and attending to our needs during dinner. I'd consider coming back the next time I am in Maggie Valley. read more

Live this place. The food is superior and the service is great. I try not to eat out very often but when I do this is one of my go to spots.

We recently ordered takeout for lunch after a morning of snowboarding nearby, and the food was delicious. My order of fajitas was missing the tortillas, but the food was so good that I didn't even mind. The wait was longer than I would have expected given the number of other diners at the time, but I expect this will improve since they haven't been open more than a few months. We will definitely order again the next time we are in the area. read more

This is a new restaurant in town and one that I will go back to time and again! The food is excellent and the portions are great. Stopped in for lunch. It was typical Mexican fare, but it could use a bit of seasoning, especially the side of rice and beans which fell flat (needing salt), Service was good and attentive. Hope their menu gets pumped up a bit, as there was nothing that sets Catrina's apart from any other Mexican restaurant in the area. read more

My husband and I visited this restaurant recently. There was a large black mat on the outside side of the restaurant that no one put away. My husband accidentally tripped over it and fell near some rocks. When we entered the restaurant, we told a restaurant employee about it. She said nothing about it and did nothing about it. She said she was the general manager. After eating the meal, when I was paying for it, I requested that my receipt be sent to my email address. Then, I had the opportunity to submit my opinion about the restaurant. I typed what happened and then I was approached by 3 people who all said that they are general managers. My husband showed them the wound on his leg that he received when he accidentally tripped over the mat. Then, all 3 of them began to ask him if he wanted them to call 911. My husband told them that he didn't want them to do that, but they kept asking him over and over if he wanted them to call 911. After that, we left the restaurant and discovered that no one had moved the large black mat that my husband tripped over, despite the fact that I asked them previously to move it so that no one else trips over it in the dark. Needless to say, I regret the fact that my husband and I visited the restaurant and I would never go back there! read more
