Seems like the negative reviews are pet owners that don't know the price beforehand and doesn't know how staying at a strange location will affect your Cat's behaviour. This boarding place is a great middle ground between having Cat sitters and boarding at a vet. Your Cat is boarded in rooms with many suites that opens into a hallway. You can pick suites with windows or even birdfeeders for extra cost. The price for additional Cats is significantly less than the initial Cat. All the Cat's needs are provided for such as water, litterbox cleaning, and daily free roaming into that hallway. I believe you need to supply your own food, I had to since my Cats are on prescription kibble. What sets this place apart from Cat sitters is that they can administer Cat medication, as one of mine needed eye drops. My 2 Cats stayed there for 1 week and the price was pretty reasonable. I can definitely tell my Cats didn't drink enough water as they wolfed it down when back home. Lastly this is only relevant during covid restrictions, but with contactless pickup, make sure your Cat isn't skittish af. One of my Cats has trauma when rescued so she fought for her life to not get put into her carrier by the employee. I would personally request to put that Cat into the carrier yourself, to avoid contributing to the place's smell and avoid needless bleeding. If you're reading this trying to "shop around" for the best - stop now. Don't waste any more of your time. Just book the Cat's Castle. I'll be honest - I looked high and low for another option that was "fancier" because their facility isn't what I expected but it was all time wasted because this is the best boarding facility I've ever found - I'm not exaggerating. I've never seen a boarding facility that treated the animals with so much love and care. They have so much compassion for their cat guests I couldn't even believe it. Pricing is very competitive, the suite was huge & tailored to a cats needs.... but the best part was adding the "Cat Cam" onto my suite for just a couple bucks a day. I got to see them on webcam whenever I wanted....playing, eating and watching birds out their giant window. & I actually got to see them get tons of attention from the staff which we loved. They also got let out of the suite to free roam for multiple hours everyday. The place was clean and full of love. You won't regret booking & im pretty sure my cats already want to go back. read more

Sorry to hear about the other review, but my cat's stay was perfect. I travel a fair bit, and didn't want to constantly rely on other people to take care of Ms. Raggamuffin. They were able to take her on very short notice (1 day), and had a great little space that looked out to 2 bird feeders. She was allowed to run around, and had full range of all the toys and scratch posts. You bring what the cat requires (food, treats, toys, medication), and i usually bring a tshirt or two that ive worn recently so it has my smell. They supply bowls, kitty poobox and litter. (Maybe because of the other comment) They walked through each cost, step by step, and i received various/unexpected discounts (kitty grazes and doesnt have a weird feeding regiment, etc). There is a range of rooms available, from $17 to $35 a day, before discounts. The smaller, cheaper rooms would be better for older, non-active cats. My cat is 4, and named Raggamuffin for a reason....so i went with a bit higher of a unit that was centrally located, and tons of bird feeders to entertain. She fit right in, and staff loved her. The place is very clean, and remarkably has very little to no smell. They have a fancy filtration system in the house, and its amazing how little the place smells. I have a really sharp/sensitive nose when it comes to cat pee, and i was really impressed. I thought the staff was very kind, and thorough. Miranda was very helpful when we were leaving/checking out. I have 4 other reservations at this facility this calendar year, and would absolutely recommend to have your cat stay here. I do not recommend this place. Please, if you love your furbaby do NOT leave them here. In total I paid $712.18 + $404.99 = $1117.00 to board 3 cats. Yes, thats over a thousand dollars to board my 3 cats for a little over a month. One cat (my precious ragdoll) was to stay there for a total of 3 months while we do renovations - In total - around $2,300+ A few weeks after my Ragdoll went in, I received a call from Ron, the owner. He called me to let me know that he was going to charge me an additional $50.00 because it was too much paperwork that he had to deal with since I was boarding 3 cats. He said it was so much work he had to do, it was giving him a headache so it makes sense to charge $50. I was never notified of this sudden 'charge' due to his 'headache' beforehand. I asked him if he was aware that I was spending close to $1500+. He said that he will charge me $50 regardless because it I am making it really inconvenient for him to have 3 cats there. Then he sent me the invoice for the extra $50 immediately after we spoke on the phone (within 3 minutes). Really, I am making an inconvenience for services i am paying $2300 for? Before the call from Ron, I went to visit my cat over the weekend and noticed a few things about the place - A) The place smells really bad. I went to a few cat shelters around Toronto and I never noticed such a stench coming from those places like this place. B) It is further, west/past Oakville in Bronte, ON. For people coming to Toronto it is NOT worth it to drive here. C) My cat is terrorized from his stay THE WORST PART I cut my cat's stay short immediately after I got the phone call - I picked him up that weekend as soon as I could. I immediately noticed that he had lost a lot of weight. He is also very irritable and is acting 'off'. He tried to bite a family member - He has NEVER done this and is an absolute sweetheart. He went outside the litterbox for the first time in his life. He also has a fever. I took him to the vet and they are saying to monitor him for a few days. I don't know what happened to him while he was at the Cats Castle but I am definitely NOT recommending this place. Also, although I picked my cat up one day early, Ron didn't forget to charge me for an extra day because the place 'works like a hotel, you came at 3:10pm so I can't refund you for that day". read more

This place is criminally underrated. My wife and I had been bringing our 4 cats here for years. They are not cheap--we always splurged on the premium suites for our 4--but you get what you pay for with them, and the care our guys received was always outstanding. Kirsten and Jess in particular were always incredibly caring, and their reports/updates let us know that they really knew our guys and that they were doing well. For owners of multiple cats especially, I would highly recommend Cat's Castle. read more

I was wholly dissatisfied and extremely disappointed at the treatment my baby endured while under the short care of the Cats Castle. What they advertise on their website and what is actually done are two entirely different things altogether. My apartment is getting fumigated so I decided to board my baby at the Cats Castle for 19 days for two sprays two weeks apart. I was lured in with the promise of vaccination updates if your kitty doesn't have them, suites that don't face other cats for anxious guests, web cams (which I was quoted as having and planned to pay for), amazing "window suites" and the promise to "support all personality types". I also received a call not too long after booking to confirm this and my babies' stay and was looking forward to my baby's stay. Upon arrival, the smell of other cats hit you as you walked in which set my cat off immediately. We were given a short tour of the establishment and I was disappointed to find out that the windows were literally just smaller ones being divided into quarters for smaller rooms and that the "suite" they held for me was really just a cage with a bed. The webcam I was promised didn't have a webcam (they were gonna charge me for this anyway) and all rooms for anxious kitties were all facing each other. My cat defecated in the carrier due to extreme anxiety, and to get her out of the carrier and into her room, the woman working at the time tipped the carrier completely upside down on a 90 degree angle and started shaking the carrier over and over to get her out. When this didn't work, my cat started hissing and growling due to fear in which case the woman sprayed a cat relaxer chemical in her face to 'calm her down'. I was then told that she didn't want to take her in unless she had her shots updated. I inquired about the vaccinations they do and they said they don't actually do them, they take them to a vet instead. Since my cat was "pretty angry" they didn't feel that they could do this and wanted me to come back tomorrow instead. I called my vet and asked if they can do boarding and I booked immediately for a cheaper price including vaccinations. When learning this the woman said "maybe that's a better idea, because I'm not sure I can handle her personality". "All personality types" my ass. $600 later, I had to have my vet give her updated vaccinations and sedate her in order to fix the nails that were broken and bleeding from the shaking upside down and the bath to clean all the feces and diarrhea that she was covered with. Honestly, do yourself a favor and DON'T BRING YOUR ANXIOUS OR UNSOCIAL KITTY HERE!!! These people do NOT know how to deal with 'all personality types". I swear I am never coming back even with a social kitty. Never again. read more

Worst customer service and rude management. I will never bring my business here again. I was under the assumption that this establishment operated on Sunday before 11. My mistake. I happened to be driving by the area. Stopped in to pick up my dog. Knocked on the door and said hello. Was greeted. I said I was a little early to pick up my dog. To my surprise the owner said he was busy doing paper work, that he hadn't had breakfast and was told they were closed. Okay - perhaps they should have had a closed sign and locked the door. "If its not big inconvenience to come back later", he said. Then started to get angry.. saying "if I was an honest person and didn't have plans I would come back later". Rather than argue I left. He spent more time being rude than it would have taken to pay my bill and get the dog. Of course it is not convenient to return later. I do not recommend this place at all. p.s. I did come back later that day. The owner said nothing. I got my dog and left.. Later they called that night - they forgot to give me the food I had left and the leash. This feline boarding facility is wonderful. I found them by accident as my vet is not boarding right now. Will be going back to The Cats Castle as the staff are great. The facility is very nice and there is lots of choice for locations within the hone where you feel your cat would do best. We reserved a kennel in a room where she had a window under a tree with a bird feeder. Lots of light and bird action to keep her occupied. Our cat was also let out to roam her room at least once a day and got attention from the staff. They also have a TV on for them to watch. She was quite happy with her experience and settled back in nicely once home. They took excellent care of her and her special dietary needs. Could not ask for more. Price was also reasonable and they also offer extra services such as nail clipping which we took advantage of. All the other cats I observed in the hone seemed quite content in their kennels which were large and spacious. The one we reserved had room for her feeder a food and water bowl and a covered litter box. There was a teepee for her to have some privacy. Also an actual miniature wooden bed with a sleeping mat plus an upper shelf for bird watching. Way more than provided by our vet whose facilities were in the basement. The Cats Castle is a converted house with another barn facility out back for cats who want total quiet. Mine likes people and other animals around. She appeared very happy. read more

We love you Cats Castle They have been taking care of our cats for almost 10 years... started with three cats and now we have 4. The space they have created for a single cat to multiple is amazing. The cats get time out of the cage throughout the day... and our Moe usually makes himself at home in the laundry cupboard :) They not only take great care of our Charlie, Maisy, Moe & Elvira - they are amazing at taking care of me, and replying to my emails checking up on our four. As for the price. We feel it's very reasonable and worth every penny for us to have peace of mind - our cats are safe and properly cared for - when we travel. They have vet techs on staff, they have people around all the time, there are a number of suite choices available to meet the needs of your cat. Cats Castle Cat Hotel is the premium in cat accommodation. My cat had to stay here for many months, and they took amazing care of her! The whole, amazing team loves and cares for the cats in the most loving way. I would wholeheartedly and completely recommend Cats Castle Cat Hotel for your own cats. They care for the cats like they are their own pets. It is a family-run business, and every time I visited (which was often!) they treated me like family, too. A client referred us to the Cat Castle so we gave it a try. We left our furry friend for a week while on vacation. There are many options for cages and I don't mind paying the higher cost for a "room with a view". She had a two-level "suite" with a window so she could watch birds and see trees. Do not even think about leaving your cat at Cats Castle Hotel in Oakville, Ontario. They hardly fed my cat (I had to bring in my own cat food) and left her sitting in her carrying cage the whole 4 days she stayed their. Then I got the bill WHOLLY $180.00 THAT'S RIGHT $180.00 when my cat only stayed from Sunday around 4:30pm to Wednesday around 2:30pm. TOTAL RIPP OFF and the cages have hardly any room for the cat. I was so upset when I picked my poor kitty up. She was so hungry and thristy when I got her home. NEVER AGAIN WILL I LEAVE HER AT THIS PLACE!! BE FOREWARNED. It's better to pay and have someone come to your home and feed her/play with your cat and it's much cheaper trust me. read more

This is the very first time we have ever put our cats in a kennel and we were AMAZED with this experience. They are right when they call themselves a "hotel" for cats. Our plane didn't arrive until after 9 pm and we still had to rent a car and drive to Oakville. Normally, they take in cats until 8pm but they actually made arrangements for the owner, Ron, to meet us there after 11pm! It was unbelievably nice. When you get to the house you will be amazed - most of the rooms have huge windows with bird feeders, and huge cages. It was much better than I ever imagined. There are all different levels of service - you can choose where you want your cat(s), how and when you want them fed etc etc. They really care! I read the other review that said they had to bring their own food - this was not our experience and it did not cost any more to have them provide food. In addition to the huge cages, they have "privacy" tents for the shyer cats to keep them comfortable. When we first got there, he let out our kitties to wander around and get used to it. He said they would have run of the hotel until the morning. I guess this is the usual. They let each cat have free run for a period of time each day. How great! The owner, Ron, wowed us with his care and love for all of the cats, even taking us on a tour to meet his favourites. It was awesome. You can really tell this is a labour of love. In addition to being SO accommodating to us, they also give discounts for single incomes, students, multiple bookings, multiple cats, smaller rooms, etc etc. They want to make the stay work for you. For 2 cats in the biggest adjoining cage for a whole week was only $300 and that included a late drop off fee. Amazing. At the end, we were emailed a "report card" for each cat explaining how they were and how they ate and even told us one of our cats had a girlfriend. How fun! This shows just how much time they actually take with each cat. Ron had such wonderful things to say about this staff and how long each have been working there and what each bring to the hotel. Made me want to work there! We are looking forward to taking our cats to stay next time and are actually thinking of just taking them there for a vacation. This place ROCKS!!! I want to add my voice to the other positive reviews below. The Cats Castle and everyone who works there are completely dedicated to the care of their furry clients! In my situation they helped me out when I found myself in a difficult situation and needed almost immediate care for my two cats. They took them in and what was supposed to be a two week stay turned into three months! The whole time they took first rate care of my two babies. They were flexible when lots of places wouldn't have been and unfailingly kind to me during all my trials and tribulations. They gave me updates and photos of my cats, accommodated a necessary prescription pick-up (one of my cats takes meds) and were always available for a quick chat to reassure me my cats were doing well. And they were! They had a great spot with lots of toys and windows to the outside. They also got lots of attention and love from the staff. It was obvious to me in our updates that they knew my cats - their personalities, their likes and dislikes. When I finally got my cats home they were in great shape - probably better than when they went to the Castle! As you can tell, I can't recommend them highly enough - very professional, very caring, just the best experience for myself and my cats. read more

They are seems to be a nice people. But. I will never live my cat there again, unless they change some of their policies. - I left my cat absolutely healthy, being fast and light runner and jumper. After less than 12 days I got him back barely walking and limping on his foot. They say, that they do not force cats out of their cages, when time comes to open a door for an exercise. All shelters do that, because it is important for a cat to stay active. But many cats are shy, and afraid to go out of a cage. They must have done something to get him out. Take cat out, offer treats only outside, do whatever needed to make cat moving. Try yourself to stay in a tiny room for a couple of weeks, and see what happens to your body. - Because of that, regardless of their efforts to make the place attractive, I see it, unfortunately, more as just a business to make money with less efforts. They had dogs there before, but those people are high maintenance, noisy (that's what they said), and dogs MUST walk out at least twice a day. Dealing with cats seems to me easier, but as you see, it is not the case. - Also, if it was my business, I would either have someone to be there on Sunday morning, as many people returning from vacation on Saturday night would be happy to pick up their cats as soon as possible, or I would not charge clients for an extra day, as it happened with me, when I was charged for two days for the time of less than one day. It was not my intention to wait until 3 pm. I hope they will take my comment positively and consider some changes. read more
