I LOVE Catwalk! I have gotten my hair cut by Beyanca twice and have loved the experience and end result both times. Beyanca is not only super skilled with cutting and styling, but she also takes the time to evaluate what you want and informs you of any potentially necessary adjustments that need to be made for that style to suit your hair (like cowlicks, hair density, etc.) so it shows that she really puts in the time and effort to give you the best cut. And it's reasonably priced! The facility itself is very clean and nice, as well, and the people are friendly. Highly recommend! read more

I first saw rainbow hair dye on a YouTube video and fell in love with it. I showed my husband of 54 years (I'm 74) and he said 'Go for it!' Unfortunately he was sick with cancer and it kept getting postponed. He died last January just before my birthday. I decided to get it done in his honor before HIS birthday, in February. I walked in and made an appointment. I had no preference in stylist because I'd never been there before. I drew Marietta and absolutely loved her. She cut my hair and then dyed it. The shop closes at 7 on Friday but my appointment ran over and I was there until almost 8pm. No one ever said a word about it being late. It was one of the stylist's birthday and they had brought in homemade Italian food. So they even fed me dinner! It was altogether a fantastic experience. I will definitely be back. And everyone there loved my hair. I am also getting compliments other places. Lots of people at the grocery store, the office supply, and at PT have said 'I love your hair!' Not just women, either. My only regret is that I wasn't able to get it done in time for my husband to see it. He would have loved it too. read more

I was referred to a stylist that was booked and decided to go with Erica Ellis based off of her bio on the website. It could not be more spot on. I came in and made a hair appointment for a cut. I decided to get bangs and a trim, just to try something new. The stylist, whose name I can't remember sorry, was decent and did exactly what I told her to do, sadly it didn't look that good on me, but not the stylist's fault. This wouldn't have bothered me so if it weren't for another stylist gesturing towards me to her friend, this made me very self conscious and uncomfortable. The rest of the crew have me odd looks as they walked by, and I felt like I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I had went I for a hair consultation and haircut with Claudia and she was great! She absolutely knows her stuff and is kind and will listen to your needs. I had a LOT of questions especially with my hair changing and thinning and she helped me understand the best reason for it and gave me a cut to help my hair feel thicker yet also lighter. The cut was great she will spend time with you helping you understand the process and products that she puts into your hair and makes sure that ya'll are on the exact same level before she begins cutting. My hair feels so much better already and it falls and moves so lovely and I've never had my hair feel so light! I ended up buying a hair serum and she helped me understand what is best for my hair and ingredients to watch out for. It was more costly than the average Great Cuts of course but your money is definitely worth it here and you leave with a great style that you can just change clothes and go out already. It took me all four years of college to find this gem and I was sad to leave it when I moved out of state! First off, the staff is extremely courteous and you are greeted as soon as you walk in the door. Be sure to book ahead of time because they are often very busy. They will do their best to make accommodations! My go-to stylist there is Korey Mynar. She takes the time to make sure that you get exactly what you want. I usually bring in a photo and explain to her what I want. I have referred her to several friends. She did my friend's hair for her wedding (which turned out gorgeous!) and also helped another friend of mine take off SEVEN INCHES of her hair. She takes the time to get to know you and I went back to get my hair cut there one last time before I left! I will be coming back here to get my hair cut whenever I visit! read more

I've never been able to find a place to get my haircut away from home, so I decided to try Catwalk out after a recommendation from a friend. I didn't know which stylist I wanted so I just told the receptionist to pick one for me and she chose Erleigh. I was disappointed with Erleigh. She cut it too short and also thinned it out using her "own technique" that completely got rid of the volume. She had me facing away from the mirror the whole time so I couldn't see what she was doing. Instead of nicely cutting off the hair, she would hack off chunks that had me internally screaming, "STOP!!" Plus, on top of all of this, she charged me an extra $10 because my hair was longer than my shoulders! That's a total rip off! I would not recommend this place for college students at all. My total bill came to $50 and my haircut was so simple: long length with long layers and short bangs. I've had that style for a year now and I told her to just trim it, but she took it upon herself to "fix it up so it's healthier." The stylist I used was only a Level 1, so you can imagine what a Level 3 or 4 stylist would charge. I'm not one to argue extensively about money, so I paid her anyway, but I will not be going back. read more

Simply put, Tiffany is a genius. I discovered her in 2006 or 2007 when she was working for Beauty First (no longer existent) on Texas Ave. A couple years later, she left and opened up her own salon, Catwalk. Within about 6 months, Beauty First went out of business and closed down. Coincidence? Eh maaybe...but probably not. From its very first opening day, Catwalk has always had excellent stylists who delivered spectacular service. Each stylist charges different prices depending on their level of experience and the hair (short, medium, long, men's, women's) that they're working with. I've always stuck with Tiffany ($41 for shampoo, cut, and style) since she is the only person who has ever given me a perfect haircut. I have really fine hair, and somehow, she is able to make my locks look full and voluminous every single time. The best part is that after getting a cut from Tiffany, all I have to do is let my hair air dry and it'll fall right into place without any work or product. Now, ladies, don't get your hopes up- I said Tiffany was a genius, not a miracle worker! This probably won't be the case for most since I already have very manageable hair. My hair will usually dry and detangle itself regardless, but it doesn't always fall the right way and stay full after I get it cut from other salons. A note for the men: the Hubs consistently went to Devry ($16 for shampoo, cut, and style) for his haircuts and was also very pleased with the results. Devry's one of the few stylists that has given the Hubs a haircut that I (gasp!) was happy with. Since moving back to Austin, I've tried a few salons, and no one has even come close to Tiffany. A word of advice: make your appointments well in advance. I knew I was going to College Station this last weekend, and I tried to make an appointment for either Friday or Saturday three weeks ago. She was already completely booked! Tiffany, if you're reading this, I'm glad that business is good in the booming metropolis of Bryan/College Station, but I will love you forever if you ever decide to set up shop in Austin. read more

When she was on maternity leave I went to the owner, Tiffani (who I also love) but my next appointment will be back with Jaclyn. This crowd is fun, professional, and so great to work with. They will NOT let you get away with a poor consultation or haircut. I tried to chop of ten inches of locks and didn't know what I wanted and Jaclyn MADE me look a books and tell her what I liked or disliked. I didn't care I just wanted it off! Afterwards what I came out with I loved! Not crazy prices, they also do dry cuts, great overall. *whew* there are lots of exclamation points and capitalized letters in this review! After looking for the perfect haircut for my birthday I decided to take a chance while in College Station and try Catwalk. Made my appointment with Devery. Showed him the cut and he said no problem. Well it was a big problem, not only did he ruin the cut he has the nerve to say he's sorry I didn't see his artistic interpretation. I made him stop before I ended up with no hair. Great stylists and I was going there for the past 3 years. Unfortunately, my stylist is too busy and too booked out anymore to get an appointment. I guess Catwalk doesn't seem to focus on long-term customers. Also, don't leave a voice message, like to cancel an appointment, because they call you if you don't show up asking if you planned on making it to appointment and seemed surprised when I said no, I left voice mail- their response was no one had checked VM. If you are a new customer, they will get you in. The customer service is great for new customers, not so much for long term people like myself. read more

I came here in April, so this review is long overdue. When I came I had already pre bleached hair after a failed ombre and I asked for just a light brown all over color. I showed them a picture and even picked the color out in the hair book. Not sure what happened but it came out JET BLACK and the funniest part was they told me "it looks just like the picture." They must be color blind or something. I was horrified! I'm very pale and it washed me out and I've never been that dark before. It lasted for months and would not fade despite all efforts and it has cost me HUNDREDS to try and get rid of the black they gave me! I'm STILL trying to get lighter after all this time. I haven't gotten my hair cut in a LONG time, and usually I go to the cheap places but since I was getting a short haircut (a drastic change) I decided to splurge and go here- and boy was I happy I did! First off, they are not that pricey- 34 bucks plus tip- and my hair is SO. EFFIN. AWESOME! I am so very very happy with it! Please be cautious when booking highlights with Devery. His foiling technique is great but he tends to get distracted. He left me under the dryer for 40 minutes while doing a blow out on another client. I could go into more detail but the damage has been done, no pun intended. I am now rocking a pixie cut after spending a ton of money on hair reconstructors and protein treatments. I think he has good styling technique but has lousy time management skills.
