If I could give a 0 star review, I would. I have never walked out of a salon so incredibly disappointed and furious. I'm from out of town and did my research on Google and Yelp. When I pay for just a haircut, I always get a wash, cut, and style. NOT HERE. I had a consultation with Morigan 10 days before my hair appointment. I wanted something that was not really going to work; because of my natural hair color, so we decided together to go to an ash brown look with low/highlights and bangs. I felt so confident leaving the consultation I was excited. I'm not one to be a stickler for maintenance for my hair, but that is MY choice. Not Morigan's. The day of my appointment, was the day before a big milestone birthday. We went over of what was discussed at the consult. Next thing I know, she is coloring my hair with BLACK hair color that smells like box color. It took her 8 minutes to cover my entire head with this color; I processed for about 45 minutes. Rinsed the hair color out then adds what I thought was going to be the color for my hair at the ends to add "dimension" I had to ask 4 times to clean my temples because there was hair color still on the temples. 6 hours later, I was literally scrubbing to get the color out. I also had to ask 3 times to thin out my very thick hair. I was promised that my hair would lighten within a week. It has been a week, and my hair is still BLACK and still smells like the chemical box color smell. I paid for a cut and style. "I want you to wear the style, to see what you think." was the bs I was told- I walked out of that salon with a horrible haircut that had no framing and NO STYLE. I walked out with a wet head of hair. No tips were given on how to style it. NOTHING. "I'm not going to give you the bangs you asked for because those require a 2 week maintenance regiment.." My choice to keep this up, not hers. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A BIG DEAL FOR ME. FURIOUS. I tipped 30% which I should not have done so. Again, a week later, my hair is still black, and it still smells like a box color. Instead of going here, just go get a box and do it yourself. Save the money and anxiety. I can't even call to demand my money back because of my anxiety and anger of the outcome. I have noticed that the manager does not reply to any reviews on Google or Yelp, so I doubt that they will do anything with this one, but bottom line, do not go here! Onto my mom's stylist-She must be brand new at cutting hair. The stylist, Mia, did not do what my mom asked, my mom had to TELL her 2 more times on what she wanted, and Mia still cut my mom's hair incorrectly. Mia wasn't going to style my mom's hair either. To the manager: Your stylists need customer service training in LISTENING skills- not what they want to do to the clients. Your stylists also need technical skills training. I recommend Surface. Our hair is a luxury and part of our identity. Some of us have to save for months to get our hair done. To mess up two new clients hair is horrible business practice. read more

I was in College Station from out of state visiting my daughters and I needed a haircut. I went to a salon near where my daughters live, and sadly the stylist did not do a very good job. I found Cutler 2 Salon on Yelp and went into the salon hoping they could help me. I explained what happened, and Niki said she could help. She spent 20 minutes cleaning up my haircut and then told me she wasn't going to charge me! I was so grateful and now I am very happy with my haircut. Dude, this review ended up really long. LONG-STORY SHORT: I trust Morrigan implicitly and highly recommend her. Her prices are the best I've seen for high quality, impeccable work! I just moved away from College Station and I am so sad that I couldn't convince Morrigan to come with me! LOL Morrigan is a genuinely good person, extremely professional, amazingly talented, and the times I put my hair in her hands contributed to some of the only good experiences I had in College Station! I'll be perfectly honest. My friend recommended me to Morrigan and I totally trusted this friend's endorsement. When I went into the salon I thought the front room was cute, but it's an older building, each stylist has a separate, small room, but the building is outdated - so I really didn't know what to expect. Then I met Morrigan. She's an attractive, fit, young lady with tats and long hair who had a great personality and from my first conversation with her I felt like I was talking an old friend. (I mention this because it was obvious to me from our first meeting that Morrigan really takes good care of herself. This is important to me - so I'm adding that info in case it's important to you, too!) I had an impossible request for her: "I want blue hair, but I also have to look professional for my "day job." Oh! and I've never had my hair lightened nor had fun colors in the past so I have no idea how I will actually feel about this ... so there's that, too." Morrigan talked me through each step, and was very positive and reassuring. Trusting her to take my spoken desires and do whatever she wanted with my hair is a decision I will never regret! We had to lighten my hair several times and I honestly feel like my hair is healthier than ever! *surprise!* I have black and blue hair that I love, but it is not obvious when I pull my hair back that it has been painted blue. Morrigan is just made of magic. :) My children grew envious of my beautiful blue balayage, so this summer Morrigan gave my daughter a vibrant pink balayage and lightened my son's hair to almost white so he could play with whichever color he wanted day-to-day (so far his hair has been lavendar, sea foam blue, electric blue, and a steel-gray/purplish which I love the most on him). I don't think I'd trust anyone else to touch my children's hair, but I trust Morrigan implicitly. I only wish she'd move to Austin. :) read more

Every time I need help with my unruly hair, I go straight to Niki at Cutler 2 Salon & Spa. I have thick, curly hair that has a mind of its own and only Niki can tame it! I also decided to start dying part of my hair bright pink about two years ago, and was super impressed with Niki's ability to make my hair a vivid, long-lasting shade! Her friendly, open personality and gift for funny stories kept me entertained throughout my entire multi-hour appointment. I went to Cutler 2 salon and spa at the beginning of the school year to get my hair cut and highlighted prior to taking important professional headshots for my graduate program. Not only did the appointment take about 5 hours and almost caused me to miss my photography appointment (~3 hours first visit plus ~1.5 to 2 hours second visit) it was outrageously expensive, and I felt the results were sub-par. I actually made the appointment strategically because I wanted to have my hair looking good for my photograph after being professionally blown out. After realizing that the highlights were already taking too long, I had to ask the stylist to just wash out the color, and skip the cut and blowdry so I could make it to the appointment on time (which could not be rescheduled). So, instead of looking great in my photo, I had to go in rushed, with my make-up not finished, with partially wet hair that I had to literally hang my head out the window while I drove to try to dry some. Then, after the photography nightmare, I went back and the stylist finished cutting my hair and blow dryed. Afterwards, I was FLOORED by the price. I have hair that comes down about to my shoulder blades and I was told it would be $120-150 but somehow after all that the total was $180! And that was before any tip, which I am an obligatory tipper even when I get poor service. As I mentioned above, I also didn't even feel like the highlights looked that great. Too much roots were still visible because the stylist didn't get the foils close enough to my scalp. I get my hair done in the North Dallas area for $100-120 MAX with a cut and full highlight plus blow out and the results are tons better. In my opinion, things in Dallas are generally MORE expensive than college station, since this is a small town. I really had a horrible experience and will not be back. I was really disappointed because the place has such good reviews on Yelp. Im starting to wonder how many "friends and family" of stylists wrote those reviews. As a student on a tight budget, I literally left the salon and wanted to cry! read more

Niki Shea is a gem who, fortunately for those in B/CS, could easily hold her own in a top salon anywhere. I recently moved back to College Station after living in London (where I did office work for Windle and Moodie, an elite salon that caters to models and fashion types) and was a bit panicked about finding a good hairdresser for my high-maintenance precision bob. After some good but not great cuts at salons I patronized in Austin before moving abroad, I decided to give Niki a shot and I'm so glad I did. Not only did she clean my cut up and bring it back to its London shape, she took the time to really get my cowlick-filed bangs just right, which is no small feat. So many hairdressers treat bangs as an afterthought, even though they're one of the first things people notice. (I'm neurotic about these things, okay?) Niki has a natural ease and charm about her and you can't help but feel happy, comfortable, and a little giggly around her, like she's an old friend you've known forever. She'll talk you through every step of your cut and you'll have a good time while she does it without feeling pushed into anything. It's very obvious she loves her job and that passion translates into an excellent overall experience. I'm definitely looking forward to my next cut with her. read more

I went to Naomi at Cutler 2 Salon and Spa in College Station the entire 4 years I was at A&M, and she always did such an amazing job! (I was so sad to leave her after I graduated.) She truly listens to what you say you want, and if you ask her for a recommendation, she always has great ones. The salon is clean, and they sell a great selection of Aveda hair products. I only went to Naomi for my cuts, but I know they have a great staff, so I think I can safely recommend any of them :). Go to Cutler 2! read more

The stylist (Mia) was unprofessional and I went there for balayage on my hair and she only bleached my hair (for some foils) and said balayage is only bleaching the hair. Nobody realized my hair color difference after I came back from salon which I spent $160. The salon itself is probably okay, this stylist, Mia, did not do a good job. read more

I usually have really specific requests for my cuts, and Niki knocks them outta the park! She's professional and great to talk to, and I love the Davines products she uses - they smell and feel great, plus they're cruelty-free and almost all of them are vegan-friendly. I just left my first appointment at Cutler 2 salon and I have to say that I was quite impressed! The service was wonderful and my hair looks fabulous. I move around quite a bit and in many other salons I have felt like I was treated somewhat poorly not being a "regular" but this is certainly not the case at Cutler 2. My stylist, Niki was so nice and seemed excited when I arrived which immediately put me in a good mood. I have long thin hair which sometimes creates issues but not for Niki. I told her to cut however much needed to make it look nice and healthy and she did just that making it look beautiful in the process. She worked quickly and concisely while we had a fun conversation. Also, the shampoo smelled like sweet orange which was wonderful :-). Making an appointment was easy too. They seemed busy but had enough appointments available to be flexible. I also realized later that I had called to make an appointment on a day they were closed but the owner still answered the phone and scheduled me in for an appointment anyway and was so nice!!! Cutler 2 also had a great atmosphere! It has a very nice interior with individual rooms for each stylist. The salon is clean and decorated nicely but isn't fancy to the extreme which made me feel more comfortable than I have at other places. Went in to and chose Niki as my hairdresser due to the good reviews I read on here. I wanted to cut my long hair into a really short pixie cut with shorter hair on the sides and longer hair on top and Niki definitely delivered just what I wanted!! I never knew how versatile short hair was until now. I absolutely love my hair. Niki was really nice and walked me through every step of the way and made me feel at ease.
