This was my first experience with being an executor of a will and dealing with a law firm, so I didn't know what to expect. While I never had direct contact with an attorney, Swaran Nagi, Estate & Probate Paralegal, helped me extensively through the Oregon process. She was outstanding to work with as she was responsive and provided guidance and the necessary paperwork through to completion. Where legal issues needed resolving she consulted her attorneys and relayed that information. This is not a quick process, but Swaran kept it moving and I'm thankful for that. read more

Absolutely terrible law firm. You are better off representing yourself. Amanda Thorpe is God awful, and will most likely string you along in an effort to charge you more. Often times with nothing being done whatsoever. If you're wise, use someone else. They will take advantage of your unfortunate life-situation. read more

I am super disappointed in this law firm. They took my case and worked on it for about 4 months. The communication was ok, but the mistakes made during the process in emails and court documents was concerning. But the biggest bummer was that the law firm split up, my attorney left and said the firm would keep my case. Well, after looking it over they decided they didn't have time so they dumped me. I have a trial date set and everything. They gave me ONE referral name, and that's it. buh bye. read more

Chris has been an excellent advocate. I hired Chris for a novel family trust matter involving step/blended families that had no case law support. From the beginning, Chris was always candid with pros and cons of pursuing a legal action, and the potential time and cost. His advice was clear, and kept to the practical side of things, helping me keep emotions in check. This firm will take your retainer and sit on it for months; missing opportunities to file papers with the courts; while ignoring your emails, and never returning your calls! If you're too busy to take a client, don't! Now, papers have been filed by the opposing individuals and a window of opportunity was irresponsibly missed! Do not use this firm. These guys are scammers. I have record of multiple lines of communication and they refused to answer any requests for information and charged me for things I didn't receive Or request. They blamed it on a change in staff but still wouldn't answer when I requested meetings. They took my money. Poor business practices. read more

Too bad Mr. W Cauble is not aware of how his past company is handling situations. We were referred to his son Chris whom is way too busy to handle a small trust case and the other attorneys in the office are not capable. The Secretary whom answers the phone is also too busy to take notes and follow up on a request or case. Look elsewhere . Save yourself a lot of grief, and most likely a lot of money too. read more

CHRISTOPHER CAUBLE OSB #962374 Grants Pass 45-day suspension Effective Dec. 11, 2013, a trial panel of the disciplinary board suspended Grants Pass lawyer Christopher Cauble for 45 days for violation of RPC 1.7(a)(2) (current client conflict of interest) and RPC 1.15-1(a) (duty to safeguard client property). Cauble had no prior record of discipline. Cauble defended a client against a plaintiff's claims that the client had negligently, illegally or fraudulently invested funds intended to be used in loans for home construction. On behalf of his client, Cauble sought indemnification from the title company involved in the loan transactions in the event the client was found liable for losses suffered by the plaintiff. Several additional investors who lost funds that Cauble's client had invested on their behalf consulted Cauble about the prospect of suing the title company. Cauble represented the additional investors against the title company without securing the informed consent of all his clients regarding the significant risk that his representation of the additional investors would be materially limited by his responsibilities to the first client and vice versa. The panel found that although Cauble limited the scope of his representation to taking action against the title company, that limitation did not obviate the need to obtain informed consent regarding the conflict between the interests of the first client and the additional investors that arose from legitimate claims the additional investors might have had against the first client. The additional investors advanced funds to pay Cauble's fees for pursuing their claims against the title company. Relying upon direction from the first client as spokesperson for the additional investors, Cauble used funds advanced by the additional investors to pay past due legal fees owed by the first client. The panel found that Cauble's personal interests in obtaining fees from the multiparty litigation and getting the first client's past due fees paid created a significant risk that the representation of the additional investors would be materially limited. The panel also found that although Cauble's work for the first client was of some value to the additional investors due to common issues, Cauble negligently failed to safeguard the funds advanced by the additional investors when he used those funds to pay the first client's fees. The panel ordered restitution pro rata to each of the additional investors for their funds used to pay the fees of the first client. read more

I recently had the most unprofessional, unethical interaction with any lawyer in my life. The lawyer's name at Cauble Cauble & Selvig is Rachele Selvig a partner in the firm. I found Rachele from the Oregon bar referral service and it stated her as being a reputable lawyer. I live in San Diego and called Selvig FIVE weeks in advance of my traveling to the Rogue Valley to complete work on my elderly mothers estate. My mother is 97 years old and needed to be transported from Eagle Point to her office in Grants pass thus logistical planning needed to transpire. Any time you move some one with age, hip and overall age issues like my mom, it's best to confirm and re-confirm your appointment. I emailed Selvig 4 days prior to our appointment to confirm the appointment with NO Response. The day before our appointment, I called her office to confirm....again. Not speaking to Rachele, her assistant stated she had "emailed me" with referrals and that Rachele had a schedule conflict...WTF? I asked her the subject line and their email address. I searched ALL of my emails as I very computer savvy and I did NOT receive any email. Selvig knew I flew in from San Diego and what the process of moving my mom would entail. We spoke for over 45 minutes during our initial consultation and it was HER schedule that we agreed upon. Fortunately, I found an extremely competent lawyer who resolved our estate issue is 45 minutes. So with NO EMAIL, NO CALL, NO FOLLOW UP CALL and CANCELLING our appointment with ZERO NOTICE I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND her "services". If you do use her a a lawyer, good luck, you'll need it! PS: For the record, the lawyer I did hire wasn't surprised when I told him about her. This is very telling as lawyers usually will not speak adversely against their peers. read more
