A few years ago I started volunteering for this Humane Society (but at the thrift store, not the…read moreshelter itself), and as someone who has worked in customer service all my life, it felt like employees at the shelter might have gotten complacent over the years. I based this on talking to people who came into the thrift shop and had been to the shelter and even my own limited contact there. Then I started attending board meetings and began to see that a transition was going on, in an attempt to improve the Humane Society's relationship with customers, donors, its own volunteers, other animal rescue organizations, and more. It was interesting to start out watching this process, and then rewarding to begin taking part in it as I continued to attend the meetings and volunteer in the thrift shop. Under new leadership, the organization has now rebuilt old bridges (and even some bed bridges) with various animal rescue organizations and other animal loving groups and individuals and has established itself in the community as a valuable ally in Lake County efforts to rescue and improve the lives of animals. They even rescue animals from shelters in other counties that are not 'no kill.' Okay. that sounds like an ad, but that doesn't make it less true. Even the thrift store where I volunteer is operated completely by volunteers so all the money raised goes towards the shelter.

We found others that were cheaper, some that were closer to our NY location, however we were sold on the testimonials we saw and the level of service and care we received from Lisa. Our male, petite (more like mini!) golden doodle from Spring view has been the smartest, sweetest, most temperate, beautiful dog, and the best-behaved child in our family of six. The entire transition and adoption was facilitated by Lisa so well, she gave us so many wonderful resources prior to and during the adoption phase. She has continued to be a resource to turn to and reach out to with questions and he is nearly two years old! She does NOT require neutering at 6weeks, she is an INVALUABLE resource and always is available for questions and was always very kind to us, and she cares so much for her pups that she wants the families or family members if possible to come get the pups when they are adopted- it is LESS stressful for them! It was worth it for one of us to fly down to get him based on her recommendation. Lisa hand-picked our pup FOR us based on our families' special needs and we are SO glad she did. American Eskimo and Norfolk Terrier), and by far the best we've ever had! Lisa has proven to be a superior breeder, who is in the business for all the right reasons... She LOVES her puppies and goes above and beyond to produce a happy, healthy, well behaved dog. She provides all the information a new puppy owner needs in her website and through informative emails prior to pick up. Her selection method is streamlined and worked well for us, as we live in NJ. She has continued to respond to any questions we have had over the past 2 years, and monitors all the puppies progress by checking in on the Springview Families Facebook page. That truly shows where her heart lies. She CARES!! My daughter had always wanted a Yorkie, when she became a homeowner and ready for a fur baby. I called the day before I brought her in and no answer. next day I brought her in to be seen because her eye was red and swollen. they came out of the store yelling at me infront of my kids because My cat wasn't in a carrier & claimed my child was walking around the parking lot holding a kitten. mind you my child walked out of our car and stood there waiting for me to get my baby out of the car seat. so no she wasn't walking around the parking lot. they told me I needed to call first before bringing a cat to their store and I couldn't bring her in she had to be seen at a vet. so I did everything I was told to do when I adopted her but get yelled at when I came to bring her in to be seen.
