Our dear Dixie resting in peace.

We would like to send our sincere thanks to Dr Burba and his staff for their amazing compassionate care and treatment of our dear Dixie (13 1/2 year old 1/2 English Mastiff and 1/2 Rottweiler 120 lbs) and us. Our girl's back legs had finally given out and it was time to let her go. We were turned away by our established vet in Deleon Springs and we were desperate (It was Thursday and he couldn't fit her in for euthanasia until Monday ). They are truly angels at Backwoods Trail Veterinary Clinic! We were told to bring her to them and they would fit her in. They told us that they would come out to our vehicle and let her pass peacefully there. What an answer to our prayers! We sat with her under beautiful oak trees while we waited. It was so beautiful and peaceful . When Dr Burba and his assistant came out, they approached her with love and respect. I held her head in my arms and she went very quickly and peacefully. Dr Burba did an amazing job and we are so very grateful to him and his staff. We HIGHLY recommend him and his clinic. Thank you so very much! You made the day every pet parent dreads bearable.

Great vet years of helping my babies Fun and pleasant staff . Sometimes hard to reach office on phone cause everyone wants him just call back

This is my long and detailed experience about the euthanasia service Elite Veterinary Home Care…read moreprovides. My almost 13 year old pup had been dealing with some health issues for some time. His quality of life was poor and in decline but I was in denial because I didn't want to let him go. He was my best friend. My wife and I finally had the conversation about letting him go but we also didn't want to do it at the vet clinic. After doing some online research we found Dr. Amanda and Aramis at Elite Veterinary Home Care. After making the phone call and explaining the situation we scheduled an appointment a few days out. That gave my wife and I some more precious time to spend with our boy. Eventually that day arrived and Dr. Amanda and Aramis showed up at our house. They were both extremely warm and kind. So much so that our boy wagged his tail when he met them. He hadn't done that in weeks due to his pain. After the initial examination of him they explained what they would be doing and how it would happen. We all laid down in his favorite spot by the front door while I gave him his favorite treats. Dr. Amanda gave him a quick shot that he didn't even register and after a minute or 2 he fell into a deep sleep. They then told us to take as much time with him as we'd like since he would stay asleep, and when we were finally ready to say goodbye to just let them know. We stayed with him, cuddled and cried. Told him that he was the best boy that anyone could ever wish for. I don't know how long we stayed with him like that but eventually we knew it was time. My wife went outside to notify them that we were ready. Once Dr. Amanda and Aramis returned; they both sat back down next to him and then confirmed with us that we were ready. She then gave him the last shot, and after a few deep breaths he was gone. They then let us know that we could spend more time with him if we wanted and we accepted. When we were ready to let him go they came back in with a stretcher (he was almost 90lbs) and I asked if I could help take him out to their vehicle. We gently put him on and she very carefully covered him in a nice blanket. We put him gently into her vehicle and I was able to give him one last pet. He looked so peaceful in that moment. My father died when I was in my 20's and that was my only family. That was the hardest moment of my life, until this. I have been dreading this moment for 13 years. And even though I would have never been ready to let him go, Dr. Amanda and Aramis at Elite Veterinary Home Care made this process a little bit easier on my heart and conscience. They were extremely empathetic to our needs and our boys needs. There was never any pressure to do anything we didn't want to do. They were so kind and understanding that they didn't feel like strangers, and even our boy knew that. They were able to take his pain away and for that I will forever be grateful to the both of them. It has been over a week and we just got his ashes back along with a nose print and a paw print cast. Thank you both for your service and kindness. I highly recommend Elite Veterinary Home Care for the most compassionate and friendly service.

I recall the days when my pediatrician would make house calls. Imagine my surprise to learn there's…read morea vet in Lake County who does the same for four-legged family members! I have a 12-yr-old beagle mix named Dollie who was traumatized during a vet visit six years ago. This well-adjusted, bright, friendly dog dreaded visiting the vet. Her anxiety made it a living hell for her, me, the staff, the other clients when I had to take her to a veterinary office. I learned about Elite Veterinary while attending the Eustis WestMuttster dog show last month. (Elite Vet loves dogs and cats and all creatures as evidenced by their having a booth at the show.) I was so impressed with the services they offer and with their friendliness. Clearly they love animals. This week Dollie got a house call from them and I got to see not only their love for animals but their expertise in care. Dr. Clark is a compassionate professional who clearly loves what she does. She graduated from UF veterinary school which is one of the tops in the country. Lake County is fortunate to have her as a local vet and I'm very grateful she makes house calls.

Be advised that when I was Yelping other area vets, one of them has many obviously fake reviews, notice the number of the reviews these phantoms each have. This makes me very suspicious of them whether they hired a rep firm or whipped them up themselves. Anyway, the experience here went flawlessly, so 5 stars right out of the gate. Be advised, this establishment is not easily seen from 441, as it is set back, it would be easy to drive past and end up at another vet close by. Set your GPS. Also , I learned today that the new kitten is not a fan of 1/ Dogs and 2/ Thermometers.

I would love to give this vet a full five stars, but I can't. This is not my normal vet, they…read moresuggested this one because they were booked out and I needed to be seen sooner than they could get me in. The positives: the process for a new patient is incredibly simple by filling out the forms online. And the staff is very pleasant and helpful, and love on your pets. Dr. Taylor is phenomenal, and I love that she's an integrative doctor pairing both eastern and western medicine to provide the best treatment protocol for your pet. The negative: I had to deduct stars because the whole building smells awful - but not in the way you'd think. Before even opening the door, I could smell the synthetic fragrance awaiting to assault my senses. It is overpowering. From Glade room fresheners to Febreze in every room, and the lavender scented disinfectant, the end of my appointment could not come soon enough. Synthetic fragrances are toxic enough for humans, but even more so for animals, whose sense of smell is more sensitive than a human's. It seems as though they' might be trying to cover up more than typical pet smells because I've never been in any other vet office that had so many fragrances. Most of them just smell like hospital...clean. I would love to be able to go back, especially since Dr. Taylor does acupuncture, but I don't think I can. I can smell the office on my clothes even now that I'm home, and I am dealing with the expected migraine after the fact. The incredible service and staff just can't overcome the impact all the fragrances have on me. So, if you are someone who suffers from sensitivities to smells like me, be forewarned.
