I've been boarding my dog at Cavalier Corral for about a year now. My Pom mix is really needy and loves human company so I asked if there could be an exception made and if he could hang out with Lee in the living room for an extra fee. Of course, my request was accepted! Now when I pickup my little buddy he's always happy and doesn't seem like he was lonely like at most boarders. This is more like a doggie hotel! Additionally, about a month ago, my wife and I decided to get a Cavapoo, and we were extremely pleased with the process. We got a nice starter kit and a very happy and healthy puppy! Can't say enough good things about this establishment.... they're an amazing couple who run a top of line business. They're dog lovers and treat your dogs like they're their own. I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else while I'm back in town. I've taken 2 of my 3 dogs there and both times it was a treat. Business is very clean and welcoming and it's big with a wide open floor plan which makes it beautiful. One of the best groomers I've ever been to and that's saying a lot since they have been in California... Texas and Florida. The owners of Cavalier Corral were very responsive to inquiries and we appreciated their business approach to being a breeder. The breeders and rescues which need lengthy paperwork seems over the top when you are paying close to 2K for a puppy. We put down a deposit and went to pick up our new addition to our family. My observations were that the business was clean and tidy, but they had WAY TOO MANY puppies and breeding dogs to manage effectively. The pole barn facility was overwhelmingly at best, at worse, darn right chaotic. In addition, to breeding, the owners were also performing grooming and boarding services, and offering personalized training. We sat through a lengthy mini-orientation which overall was helpful, but felt the one was pushing his "NuVet" Supplements a little hard. Since we already had one Cavalier, much was repetition or not how I prefer to train my puppy. I dislike the clicker training, and prefer high reward training. The owner told us to take the puppy to our vet within 30 days, but no urgency needed, but watch for signs of a few diseases/illnesses. Within 4 days, my new puppy has blood and mucus heavily in her stool. We get an emergency appointment and the vet finds ear mites, giardia, and some other bacterial infection. Since we have an older Cav, we need to treat BOTH. The Vet expense was $265. After the full fecal panel returns after 3 more days, we need to also add Coccidia, which is another $62. We take the puppy and older dog back for a re-check in 2 weeks, so more costs will be involved. So, the contract states the puppy will be healthy at the time of purchase. Is being sold with Ear Mites, Giardia, Coccidia and another bacterial infection "healthy," I think not. Infecting and/or needing to prevent my older dog from the puppy issues, also, not a welcomed outcome. My personal opinion is breeding alone takes an extraordinary effort to be ethical. Adding grooming, boarding, and training, on top of breeding, adds to this mismanagement of puppies and breeding dogs. And, saying animal health is my top priority, and that happens by buying supplements with an order code to earn another profit. NO, animal health starts with the BASICS then you can add supplements and vitamins to strengthen your dogs. If basic health of puppies is maintained at Cavalier Corral, then expand other pet services, but not while you have sick puppies under your care. And with all this, we still adore our new addition to our family, and are happy to bring her back to a healthy state! read more

Boarded my dog recently and ended up with nothing but problems! Sent 8 days worth of food for a 5 1/2 day stay, she was only fed 3 days worth. Have had to take my dog to the vet since returning to find out she has kennel cough. She had no problems when she was taken to be boarded. I offered her vaccine records but was told to just put them in her bag. Not sure they even check records when dogs are boarded, infact they never asked for hers. I prepaid for her stay and grooming. Grooming never got done. Was told that she was the only dog there that didn't get groomed. When I asked for a refund I was sent a check for less than the amount a grooming costs. Website says a dog her size is $57-$67 and I received a check for $42. I will never recommend this place. There are many, much better kennels available in our area. I tried Cavalier Corral because I thought it would be convenient. Unfortunately convenience has cost me quite a bit of money and time. read more

I know my dog max of 11 years is in good hands when he goes there and he's always excited to see them. We were very impressed with the way Lee and Cynthia run their business. At first glimpse it's just a house with a garage (they have a huge facility nearing completion!), but when you go in the garage, you will be surprised. The sire and dams had just come in before we got there and were enjoying some quiet time. It was rather impressive how well behaved they were (Lee is also an experienced dog trainer of 30 years). He took out all the pups we were interested in and let us take our time. After selecting the puppy, we moved inside where he sat us down and made a puppy bag to take home (leash, collar, a bag of food for the first few days and some vitamins). He thoroughly explained everything and went over quite a bit of paperwork explaining the shoots and vet visit that the puppy has had so far. He took some extra time to teach us a thing or two regarding training to make our puppy transition easier on him and us. Lastly, they told us to please call them at any time should we have any questions and informed us about the 1 year medical guarantee. They also board your precious pooch or pooches of any kind should you need that service. You can have confidence that your dog or puppy will receive the best of care while you are away. Both Cindy and Lee live in the same facility as all the puppies and dogs. Their building and surrounding area is as clean as it gets. They are there for the dogs and pups 24/7. Lee has a extensive knowledge on training dogs and the Cavalier King Charles breed themselves. Not only has Lee given us information about the breed but has helped me piece back together my life after a pit bull viciously attacked my cavi bestie. I am forever grateful and will recommend any cavi lover to at least look into getting one from Lee and his wife. I have been as happy with a puppy, because she was my best friend. But I have never been as happy and satisfied with the quality of my cavalier, who is currently snuggled up on my lap. Thank you Lee! read more

I purchased 2 puppies from Cav corral, they had the same sire but different mothers. Within a week we were at the emergency vet due to lethargy, vomiting clear fluid, inability to stand and difficulty breathing. This issue cost us 3k in vet bills. I notified cav corral and basically all that was said was "we have never had this problem" and blame was basically placed on me for possibly doing something wrong. Fast forward a few weeks and it happened again to one of the puppies. Sudden vomiting, lethargy and inability to stand. The puppy stopped breathing within 5 minutes, I did cpr for 45 minutes, the puppy was full of fluid. She passed away. Again Ingot then response that this has never happened before. I was asked if a necropsy was done. After spending 6k in 2 months on the digs a necropsy was not financial possible. I was offered discounted shipping if I purchased another puppy. No way in hell that was going to happen. Now fast forward 18 months, repeat symptoms with our male, died within 5 minutes of onset of symptoms. I again called cav corral as the dogs shared genetics. Again I was told they had never had any issues, the sire had fathered many litters and they were all fine and healthy and they weren't sure why i was having these problems, they again asked about a necropsy. I am a nurse and I know people and dogs are different but I am convinced this was due to a genetic issue causing acute onset congestive heart failure and my vet(who knows me and my pets very well) agrees. Buyer beware, there doesn't seem to be concern for the dogs, only the profit at this establishment. I would give negative stars if that was an option. read more

We love Rudy, our Cavalier. We got him at Cavalier Corral, and I honestly, have considered getting a friend for him at this same place. Now, Rudy has had some digestive issues that our vet says may have been inherited (breeding). We have probably spent as much at the vet to get his digestive track on track as we have to buy him, but I still would say he has been worth it. He has been an easy to train pup, and I would not trade him for a healthier one at this point. This breeder did work with us on the original price of our pup, but he was older and had a hernia repair. I cannot say I would not go back to this breeder. The pups were cute. He was easy to get to, they have pups a lot of the time, and the breeder was pretty frank about Rudy's condition, etc. He pointed out our pup had some delayed socialization because of the hernia repair and that was true, and he has been socially delayed. I have just had to work harder with him a great deal more than a dog that had earlier socialization. No business is all good or all bad, and I would say that is true for this one. They have been communicative when I have emailed about other dogs that they have available and have answered most of my questions by email. read more
