Robin of Peaceable Pets did a great job caring for our cat Kali recently. Kali had been having some problems with her health and her behavior, and was on several new medications. Robin was a trooper in managing Kali while we were gone. She sent us regular texts and a photo, which helped us stay involved with Kali. I understand her Peaceable Pets Animal Care business has a variety of services, including dog daycare and boarding, petsitting, and dog walking. She has been in business since 2004! This is a review for dog walking, doggy daycare, and dog boarding. I found Peaceable Pets after a very thorough vetting (I am convinced I should have been cast in the movie Best in Show--yes, that is how much of a crazy dog lady I consider myself). Time and again, people on the Ann Arbor Dog Owners Facebook group mentioned Peaceable Pets. I read all the reviews, stalked Peaceable Pet's Facebook page (where Robin posts videos of her guests and informative articles about all things animals), scrutinized the information on her website, did a meet and greet with Marcy, our dog walker, a play date at the Dellwood Doggy Ranch (required for doggy daycare and boarders). I give it 10/10 stars. Peaceable Pets is an Ann Arbor treasure. You will not find someone more knowledgeable about dogs than Robin. Some reasons I love what Robin offers: 1. She understands my dog's unique personality, quirks, and needs. 2. She prioritizes the safety, well-being, and quality of life for my dog. 3. The pick-up and drop-off times worked well with my schedule, which was variable for a while, and then predictable for another while. 4. I trust her 100%. 5. Every time I bring Hagrid to her, he bounds toward her and doesn't even look back to say goodbye. Every dog parent knows that is a good sign. 6. Hagrid is calm and content when he returns from daycare. ...I could go on and on. As for dog walking, Marcy was wonderful and reliable. A few times I bumped into Marcy while I was walking Hagrid and saw his entire body language and vocalization over his joy of seeing Marcy. There is no stronger endorsement than that, in my opinion. To top it all off, Robin and Marcy have really interesting personalities, back stories, and talents when they are not caring for our beloved animals. Marcy speaks French. Robin sings in a band. Robin has been sitting for our two cats for several years now. We had tried boarding them at the vet while we traveled, but this was probably a rookie mistake since both of our cats are clingy and high maintenance. One was always very anxious and demanding for days after getting home, and he even peed in the bed we sent with him. One of our cats takes heart medication daily, so asking a neighbor to watch them didn't appeal to me. On our first meeting with Robin, the cats immediately took to her. Based on her interactions with them and questions about their needs, it was clear that she loves animals. I have zero qualms about leaving ours in her care. Our friend referred us to Robin, and I'm SO glad she did. Robin took care of our cats while we were gone for 3 years. Sadly, we just moved away, so we have to find someone in our new city. Robin was so reliable and responsible. Sometimes we would give her extremely short notice before we went out of town, and she was always available. She also would always send us texts and pictures of our cats so we knew they were doing OK. Once, the lock on our door broke while we were out of town (over Thanksgiving weekend no less), and Robin went back late at night after our landlord fixed the lock so that she could feed our cats. Robin is totally trustworthy, and so great with animals. I can't recommend her more highly! read more

We love Robin and Peaceable Pets! We've entrusted since 2006 two of our beloved dogs with Robin's loving, professional care. I remember first meeting Robin at our home: she did a full intake with our cattle dog and my husband and me. I was immediately impressed with her business skills, caring, calm manner, and confidence. Our current pup loves to visit the other dogs at 730 Dellwood, and she is always happy and so well-taken care of while we are away. Last year while we were on vacation, our dog urgently needed to go to a neurologist for an acute spinal cord situation. Robin immediately called us in Florida, took the dog to the neurologist, and waited for hours with her while she underwent spinal surgery. Robin saved our dog from further spinal cord compression and selflessly spent almost an entire day tending to our pup. Today, our pup can run and play and she is happier than ever. We will never forget the expert, loving care Robin gave. I cannot say enough good things about Peaceable Pets and the wonderful staff. read more

Robin and Marcy are fantastic! We have two cats who are both needy in their own ways, and it is clear that they are *very* well-cared-for when we're away. Like most pet parents, we can be a little anxious (that might be an understatement!) about leaving two important members of our family in someone else's hands, but whether it's via email or text updates during our absence, or a thoughtful note debriefing us on our return, both Robin and Marcy go above and beyond to give our boys excellent care AND put our nerves at ease. One of Robin's contractors watched my cat for about a week while I was out of town on short notice. She did a great job with my highly anxious cat and sent me texts every day. Savannah was much happier at home then she would have been if she had been boarded. Unfortunately I have moved out of the area and I'm not sure I'll be able to find a petsitter as reliable as Peacable Pets. read more

Robin is great! She is reliable, great with my cat, and even sends me picture updates! It's reassuring to know that someone is giving my kitty some attention when I am out of town. I feel very comfortable leaving her with my keys. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a pet sitter. read more
