" Very Nice Wine Tasting Experience " My wife and I went to the Cave Hollow West Winery after we visited the Caves in Hannibal ,MO. I was surprised to find such a large Winery in this dead end street near the Mark Twain Cave. The 2 ladies at the wine tasting bar were very nice, and answered our questions about the wines we tried. We were also able to taste some cheese bites with our wine tastings. The winery building is large and very open, as they have different wines and winery products to look thru. The Winery has a wide variety of wines to sample, most with awesome looking Mark Twain-themed names and labels. Nice Place !

The winery location, setting and ambience are all great, the service was friendly, and the live music was great. I was looking forward to enjoying a glass of wine after visiting the caves. To my dismay though, the wine was awful. Tart, tasteless, just overall bad. I opted out for a glass of port, and could not finish that either. Too bad.

Come & have a wine slushie on the porch

Wine is a little expensive here. If you go to West Winery in Macon were it's made it is less than fifteen dollars per bottle,

We had one of the most enjoyable meals of our lives here! Service was friendly with a smile and many patient answers for our many questions. Turns out we love Turkish food. We had only had it once or twice before. LaBinnah Bistro is simply magnificent! We started with the Dolma appetizer. I have a soft spot for grape leaves, and these were outstanding! Definitely top three that I've ever had. My wife had the Istanbul shrimp and she loved them. Her boiled potatoes and asparagus were cooked exactly to her liking. I had the Saç Tava, which is Turkish stirfry beef with yellow peppers and tomatoes. I think there was some garlic in it. It was served with the best saffron rice I've ever tasted. We were completely spoiled with this Turkish home cooking. SO GOOD! We had a delicious and reasonably priced bottle of wine and the Godiva tall chocolate cake for dessert. It was moist and delicious but not overpoweringly sweet. Look at my photos of the interior of this place it's just charming and quaint. So lovely. We were visiting from the Kansas City area and we are absolutely enamored with this little restaurant and we will be back as much as possible!!!

We got the Cajun tortellini,.which is my favorite and the Garlic Lovers pizza. We got a #4 by accident and it was yummy. The Garlic Lovers was so stinking good and cheesy. We found a bottle of Montepulciano on the wine list for a fantastic price. Can't go wrong with this Italian wine. We were pleased with the recommendation and would go back!. Definitely recommend the local haunt.

Accordingly the Merchants Payments Coalition the credit card surcharge/admin fee, has increased from 2.02% in 2010 to 2.35% in 2024. Now while I agree this seems a little high, it's not catastrophic, and I have trouble believing this 0.33% increase has directly led to this brave new world of bifurcated billing: one price for cash and second price that is somewhat more than 0.33% greater. Well it has at the The Brick Oven, as I was charged 3.75% (see photo). If your going charge me more to use my credit card, then you need inform me. And as the only thing I really demand from capitalism is transparent pricing, do owners really want to start off my dining experience with a review of how it ends? Well instead this place chose to avoid this checkered conversation by annotating the bottom of my bill accordingly. Dining here was supposed to a moment to relax with my wife and think some very Twainian thoughts, and not about conducting some financial analysis. But I guess that's the last memory the owner wants to impart. Our server (the guy who lives above the place), was excellent and I feel bad about taking the difference between 3.75% and my 2% credit card cash back out of his tip, but something must be done. Btw: Whenever I'm asked to choose between paying more or paying cash, I always have a distinct feeling it's less about saving a dollar in credit card fees and more about saving 20 dollars in taxes.
