Great BBQ! We were greeted by Sam our server and promptly served our drinks of ice cold draft Yuengling. The menu is huge with a large selection of all meats and a great appetizer menu too. I ordered the two meat special that was ribs and brisket. The brisket was highly tender and moist and perfectly prepared- OUTSTANDING! The ribs were meaty and they too were perfectly cooked with no dryness- again OUTSTANDING. The green beans sides were probably the best I've had. You could taste the element of bacon that made them delicious. The baked beans were served hot and also were good too. The added side of cornbread was a nice finish and paired well with the Yuengling. This is a great spot for a meal in Palmyra and I will definitely return. read more

This place is located on the main drag, has a full service bar, buffet most days, good amt of seating. The food is top notch and large portions in my opinion. Pricing was pretty normal for most places these days. Service was great and food came pretty fast. Great hometown feel. This place is a gem! Wonderful food, prices and staff. It is definitely a go to place. Just looking at it from the outside makes you just want to go inside. And on the inside it is just as exciting. They have great food deals and a full bar. Lots of indoor seating. The staff is super friendly! The catfish is delicious! I've never had it before living on the east coast. Tried it for the first time from here and it was amazing! The pork tenderloin is as big as your head! It is crispy and tasty! And I adore the pulled pork! It is so so good. If you've read any of my other BBQ posts you'd know that I have given 4 stars to some great places. But for me a BBQ place needs to be more than great to get that 5th star . . . . it also should be memorable. This place is definitely that. "Thank you YELP for finding this place for us. Just seeing the exterior of the building made me hungry (and raised my expectations). And it turns out we could have ended up very disappointed. There was a buffet that we almost ordered that didn't look great but at first we figured that was pras good as it gets. Fortunately my wonderful wife had the forethought to as the waitress "If this was to be our only time hear did she recommend the buffet?". The waitress was honest and told us "no. We started out with a Horseshoe Explosion. (Which almost would have been enough for the both of us . . . . but of course we ordered meals too. The brisket was the stuff dreams are made of! It's what I hope for every time I go to a BBQ place but rarely ever get. Then a bride and bridesmaids came in for a shot and photoshoot. (Got to love small towns . . . . I can say that because I'm from one.) My only regret was that this stop was on a cross country trip and I doubt we get to stop here again. In town for family funeral and saw a billboard advertising the place--decided to try it out. Fall off the bone ribs, fried corn on the cob, and fairly traditional cornbread. My wife had the potato salad, which the waitress advised her was sour cream based and not quite "traditional". We didn't care fir it as much. Chocolate bourbon dump cake for desert. The place was certainly busy and family friendly. Also offered a buffet that has salad bar, typical sides, with fried catfish and pulled pork as the meats. This is a three year old BBQ restaurant located in downtown Palmyra, across the street from the county courthouse, that has greatly improved over the years. It is still a righteous small town Missouri BBQ restaurant with respectable brisket, pork and sausage offerings. A smoker trailer is always parked out front of the building in the heart of downtown Palmyra, its smoke wafting lazily through downtown. Since we knew from previous visits that their BBQ offerings were excellent, we opted to try their (to us) new lunch buffet, which offered salad, 3-meats, vegetable sides, desserts and soft drink for less than $9! Lea jumped right into the salad bar, which included all the normal fixings, plus pickled beets, Cole slaw, crumbled boiled eggs and cottage cheese. I grabbed a few pickled beets and a little Cole slaw, and some outstanding creamy broccoli cheese soup with potatoes, and then headed for the main course The three meats on the buffet were a very respectable meatloaf, salmon cakes, and a tasty chicken fried pork steak which I smothered with a silky cream gravy, and added mashed potatoes and whole kernel corn. What a meal! Lea was a little more conservative, opting only for the chicken fried pork steak (with gravy), but pronounced it "very good!" (Meanwhile, over on my side of the table, I was squirting their palate-pleasing honey based BBQ sauce on my slice of house-made meatloaf!) Two options for dessert were offered, and of course, just to help you get a feel for what is included in the buffet, I tried both. The first was a yellow cake square with fudge topping, and the other was a chocolate cake square with vanilla icing. And, did I mention the yellow cake with fudge topping? Excellent lunch buffet, great Missouri BBQ, fast service, nice small town atmosphere with great value. We'll definitely be regulars. read more

While driving through the Midwest on our way home we found this delicious barbeque joint.... it was like a barbeque oasis after so many hours of driving. They have a buffet that looks okay but I asked our waitress what she suggested if this most likely was going to be our only time eating there and she suggested the meat platter. Their starters also sound amazing so we were able to try a little bit of everything. We ordered as a side the fried cauliflower and it was delicious!... the only bad thing about this meal was that it was so good and we were ready for a nap when we still had hours more to drive. read more

The owners and staff are friendly, fun, and welcoming. Things I've had so far that are good: brisket, pulled pork, fried pickles, Friday catfish buffet, slaw, cornbread, and beans. Haven't had ribs yet but will soon. The salad bar/hot food buffet always has something good on it. Catfish on Friday nights is awesome. The soups are always good. Thursday lunch and the restaurant was swamped. We had the brisket sandwich and the Brisket Livewire--the proteins in both were great But: the bread was only toasted on one side and both were served warm not hot. The Brisket Livewwire was supposed to be extra spicey but wasn't--probably a 2 on the typical Thai restaurant 1 to 5 spice/heat scale. Our server (Jesse) wasn't the best...the restaurant definitely needed more servers on today's lunch service. The issues are all fixable. read more
