My wife and I had some time to kill while we were at the Fountains so we popped in to look around. An hour and a half later we walked out with three bags full! I have an entire new outfit (boots and hats included) and she picked up a dress, jacket and earrings. Really good selection, predominately geared towards men, with plenty of options for women and children as well. Anthony was super helpful and was an absolute blast to work with as he helped along the way. The staff is just close enough if you need help, but not close enough to feel 'pushy' while you shop. They have a beautiful selection. The store is clean and organized. The clothes are true to size. They have very fair prices. The only problem is that someone is always following you around, Asking you if You're ready to pay. They treat everyone as if they are being dishonest. They made me feel very comfortable. I have worked retail all my life and I understand the important of offering assistance but not to the point where you make the customer feel uncomfortable. read more

Manger needs a course on customer service. She was not willing to help and is rude. I will do my shopping on line than to deal with her crapy attitude or to see her unwelcoming face. Being in the health profession this would be unacceptable and disgrace for the company I work for. As a breast cancer survivor I would never hope people like her to be in the health profession. Everyone was nice. If you need boots this is definitely the place to go. I don't, so I bought a knife.

Well....... I finally decided to go and shop for my 1st pair of Western Boots after spending hours on line doing homework. This store is Amazing and a little intimidating at the same time. I walked in and noticed there were a ton of employees at the center register area. Once in, I wondered around the belt section in awe of the selection they had. I went ahead ahead and made my way over to the back where I found the 11.5/12 boot section. I spent about 20 minutes trying on various types of boots trying to figure out which size was correct for my feet. I even found the ee wide boots but unfortunately I couldn't find anyone that would help me. When I did see an employee in the boot section, no one seemed to stop and help or even ask if I had been helped/ or if I needed help. Even after making eye contact. After getting flustered trying to figure out proper fit, I gave up and made my way out of the store. On my way out, I noticed that there were at least 5-6 employees at the front register and they were joking around. I tried asking for help but no one seemed interested in helping me out or even looking for someone to help me a priority. The priority seemed to be joking around and goofing off. After this, I decided to not buy a pair of boots after this experience. I probably won't set foot back in this store after this experience. I recently saw a hat that interested me on the Cavender's website and called the El Paso store to see if they had the hat in stock. The lady who took my call had no clue as to what customer service is all about. I told her precisely what I was looking for, only to have her ask the same questions over and over. In the end, the item was not in stock in the store so I ordered it via the website. Sad that you cannot get good service from their local retail store. read more

My boyfriend and I came here last week to buy a pair of boots for a wedding. I've always heard such good things about this place. The selection was great they had so many boots to choose from, however the customer service was left wanting. Nobody I mean nobody approached us to ask if we needed help even though we stood by the same section for well over 15 minutes. I had to flag the first person down and she kind of acted like I bothered her. Anyway she never came back to check on us like she said so we just put the boots we didn't want away in our own. When my boyfriend went to choose his boots and hat again not a single person asked if we had questions or needed help. When we checked out all the cashiers were rude especially one of the ladies that looked Liek she was the manager. She had the most sour look on her face. She asked my boyfriend if he needed a box and he said yes but she don't even bother to bring one she just dismissed us. I don't that I would come here again to be honest. Each time I come here, I leave disappointed. The women's clothing selection is very limited and gaudy and rarely have small sizes. The staff have become like car salesmans. They won't leave you alone! Within 5 minutes, I had the same girl ask me if I needed help 9 different times!! I understand customer service, but let us shop around first without the pressure! Being my first time into a country western clothing store, I must say that I was overcome with a sense of nostalgia with the worn barn look and antiqued artifacts adorning the interior of the store, the smell of freshly tanned leather that hung in the air and the genuine hospitality of the employees. I knew that I must be in Texas! That sense is what I thought Texas and the Southwest was when I was a kid and Cavender's has achieved my childhood ideal. I can only give Cavender's 4 out of 5 stars for now, since it is my first country western outfitter experience thus far in my life. All future merchants beware, Cavender's has set the bar high in my book. read more

This is a nice big cavenders that is fairly well-organized. I was shopping for new boots and was greeted when I walked in and directed to the boot section. I have only two minor complaints. 1) Google maps shows the location being literally next to Best Buy which is quite a distance away. Its at the opposite end of the fountains strip. I did a lot of walking before I found it. (note to self: call store for exact location). 2) I'm used to staff walking around and asking if you need any assistance and although I found what I was looking for, I could have used some assistance this time. The boot selection was decent but honestly I kind of expected more variety when it comes to straight black boots. But at the end of the day I was able to get the quality boots I was looking for (the exact same brand and type that I've worn the last 10 years). read more

An Army family from western New York state; so first visit to a serious western wear store. Barns, horses and trucks are part of our life style so good boots and belts are a must. No serious stores of this type exist back home. Western wear in NY state is usually sold right next to the hammers or a side offering in trailer outlets so this was truly a different shopping experience. It took me a few minutes to take it all upon arrival. There was a lot to see at first and eventually made our way through the store to the boot section. Offerings seem to be top notch (i'm no expert) with a comfortable $ range. Found boots for whole family and then some. Wish more time was available to shop the men's shirts. There are lots of great styles and patterns. The fabrics felt to be good quality. Maybe next time. This shopping experience was worth the time spent and helped to top-off our 4-day visit to El Paso. Add Cavender's to anyone's visit to this area of Texas or NM. Easy to get to along rt-10. Sales person Junior has an easy manor, helped allot and and a super nice man; as well as everyone else there.
