This is a mostly African grocery store. I've been going there for years to buy things like palm oil, tubers of yam and hard to find drinks like Schweppes bitter lemon. Some of their products are sold in the nearby farmers market. They sell all kinds of spices, vegetables and meat. They have a restaurant within the store where u can get ready made food and quick bites like meatpie and puff puff. Aisles are spacious and easy to navigate. It's never crowded when I go but they do have a steady stream of customers. I recommend checking expiration dates on things like their cold drinks. CHECK THE DATES!!!! They have a wide variety of groceries (fufu, rice, spices, meat/fish, bread) for affordable prices. Their raw shea butter has a strange smell but everything else is excellent, especially the snacks (plantain chips, various pastries, and ginger/sobolo drink). I've never tried the Nigerian restaurant located in the center. However, I am intrigued so maybe next time. I would definitely recommend! read more

My Nigerian husband and I love to stop here weekly to make fresh healthy African food. Super helpful staff and they have almost every African food (and other) products you can think off. As with most imported foods, there's a limit to the freshness of some of the ingredients. The yam I selected was not super fresh but still manageable. Same with the guava. Also, there's a full scale Nigerian restaurant, a small sit down area and I believe they cater as well. They have mostly everything you need to cook West African and Caribbean meals. The butcher older gentleman from Ghana is a nice man, even though it was a bit creepy when he tried to get my number. One woman was shouting, shouting shouting that she is not happy she wants her money, she has shopped here forever, it was a show. This is not the first time I have seen an angry customer with the owner himself it was very disgraceful. His energy is so occult like cold he should stay upstairs and let his able workers do their job. read more

This is our favorite market for stocking up on west african foods before heading back to Illinois.

This place is for all my West Indian / Island / African / and even European folks who grew up in their native country and cannot get their native food in the regular grocery store. It is a very spacious store that is very organized and it even has a cafe in back that serves up some of the favorite dishes such as Ox tail. Im giving this place 5 stars reason 1 I was shopping here before they moved across the street to the new location and reason 2 where else are you going to find snails, cow stomach, smoked fish heads, bitterleaf, a variety of pounded yam flour, and powdered dried shrimp?!! lol all kidding aside for the westernized nose the place will have a most pugnacious smell that is very unusual. I'm used to it because I've been to Africa many times. They have a small section for Latin ingredients as well as Santos candles, too bad you can't purchase live chickens and goats there then we can really see what the voodoo/santeria population is like in Georgia lmao again all kidding aside, if you are into african, middle eastern, and Latin cooking they have ingredients in there you won't find in publix, that's for sure! They also have an area to purchase hot food, I don't know about that. I'm not interested in trying it so I will leave that to those who more adventurous than I. Toyin african restaurant is 10 minutes from this store so I'd rather just go somewhere I know I won't get sick. The customer service is hit or miss, but I can't really Blame them. If you are going in there they assume you know what you came in there to get. I do like they have a variety of Caribbean sodas from cola champagne to vita malt.
