I'm a little disappointed I suppose. After reading all the glowing reviews and looking over the menu I was sure I was going to have a delightful meal this evening. This restaurant is attached to what is clearly a dying mall, and that may be part of the issue they're having in terms of retaining staff and maintaining foot traffic. It is desperately hard to maintain a high quality standard in food when you simply don't have that many people coming in to eat. The staff I interacted with were generally friendly, but also quite busy and trying to keep up with the various tables. The seating options were a little uncomfortable, but serviceable overall. Everything appeared to be clean, although I noticed a bucket of dishes sitting out in the main dining room That was not being attended to. Given the volume of business they were having at the time this wasn't a huge deal. The food was a mixed bag. The chips were decent but a little greasy. My chicken was well prepared and had a delicious cheese sauce on it. The rice and beans were quite regrettable unfortunately. The beans were overcooked and too pasty, the rice had no real flavor to it. It really is a shame, I was looking forward to trying this place. read more

In shocking news, Cazadores is in an abandoned wing of Fashion Square Mall, but PROCEED WITH CONFIDENCE FRIENDS! Do not let the abandoned store fronts dissuade you. When you enter the restaurant you are immediately welcomed in a delightful, warm, elevated Mexican restaurant. Came in on a Saturday night and saw a ton of families dining in. The place had a cheerful buzz with about 80% of the tables full. Food and service is fast and Staff are super friendly. It has your typical quick Mexican fare (burritos, enchiladas) but it's also dine in and offers specialty plates too (fajitas and house specialties). My husband ordered the Fajita Parillada, which had steak, chorizo, pork, chicken, shrimp, and all the fixings (including a huge pepper and charred green onions). I ordered a Pina Rellena Mar Y Tierra, which was a halved pineapple stuffed with chicken, steak, shrimp, crab, veggies, and cheese. Superb! Casadores is kind of an interesting Mexican restaurant. The hostess and the server were absolutely delightful. Very very nice and very, very attentive. It's got a decent ambience, but it just seems a little rundown. The atrium has this really cool umbrella decorated ceiling that gives it a really neat vibe and there's these split tree trunk high tops by the bar which are pretty cool. The food on the other hand is not as good as other places I have been. That's not to say it's bad, it's just not as good as it could be. I was really please when they brought a really nice size picture of salsa with the chips. Both were delicious. Probably some of the best chips and salsa I've ever had. The salsa had a really nice spice to it as well. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal wasn't quite as good. I ordered the shrimp nacho appetizer because I've never seen one before on the menu and it was a little bland, but when you add salsa to it, it improved dramatically. Then I ordered a combination plate with a chicken burrito, beef taco and beef Chalupa. The beef was not seasoned very well, and was a little bit bland. The chicken was pretty dry. Again by adding salsa and some sour cream, it dramatically improved. The prices were very reasonable, and there was a number of unique things on the menu, so I would certainly consider trying it again, but I would probably try some different items. Also, the service was pretty quick, so that was nice. If you're in Saginaw, and you're in a hurry, I think it's a decent option. read more

Moved to bay city and had been looking for a bit of home here. I'm Mexican lol so I made it a mission to try all the Mexican places here and rate them based on home made food. This place has my heart when it comes to the birria tacos! I love them! It's the closest I've gotten to home made food here. I haven't tried anything else, I hope one day I do but for now ima eat birria tacos here I've literally had my boyfriend and his family come since they always ask me about Mexican food too. Wait staff were arguing before we had to seat ourselves & our waitress was not exactly pleasant. Food took a long time and arrived luke warm. We recently relocated to Saginaw from Denver and were in search of really good Mexican food. Thankfully, after trying many underwhelming places around the area, we found it at Cazadores! The staff are always pleasant, the food is consistently fantastic, and the bottomless house salsa (served with chips) is fresh and even has a decent amount of heat to it. The restaurant has a nice vibe and is typically fairly quiet making it a great environment to visit with your family and friends while you're there. Couldn't be more pleased to have found this place. I am giving them a 3 star rating this time, as they have made a great improvement in their sevice time. Staff is very pleasant and service was quick. However, the quality of the food and bar drinks is about he same, mediocre at best. I ordered the Burrito Cazadores. The menu described it as a large flour tortilla stuffed with your choice of seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken, topped with lettuce, tomatos, and cheese. I ordered the seasoned ground beef. It had very little seasoning if any. The ground beef was dry and tasted like it was fried in bacon grease. The ground beef used at Taco Bell has better flavor. I also ordered a 23oz margarita with my dinner, it was $12. There was little to no tequila, if I had to guess, I would say 22 ozs of mix and 1 oz of tequila. Their claim is authentic mexican food, not even close. We will not go here for Mexican food again. If you want excellent authentic mexican food, Mangos Mexican Cuisine and Tequila Bar in E Tawas is the best in this part of northen Michigan. read more

I'm baffled by how amazing the food was with such a terrible frozen margarita. It just tastes like very cheap tequila with even cheaper mix. The food however was amazing. I think this is actually the best Mexican food restaurant in Saginaw. The food prices were a great deal. I had a xl chimichanga and it was just amazing. My girlfriends food was amazing as well. This place has always been my favorite to go to. There birria tacos are amazing as well as their drinks. However, I called around 2pm yesterday on 5/5 (cinco de mayo) because last year when i went it was a long wait which was totally fine. I understand not making a reservation and having the repercussions. So i decided to be prepared and make a reservation for four at 6pm. When we got there, we went up front and weren't greeted for 15 minutes. They were clearly understaffed where it looked like only 3 people working, which no problem at all, yet they saw us standing there and disregarded us completely. When a server finally came, she told us quietly that they were closed where they didn't close until 8pm. I stated that we called earlier and they took our reservation, she huffed, grabbed four menus and didn't even direct us where to sit. We were all stunned by this service. We decided to sit down to discuss on leaving which we did. As we walked out there were multiple people waiting. A customer asked us what was happening and we explained that they were closed. The server didn't even bother to inform the other customers. I have always loved the staff including the managers and the experience here was always great. Now my opinion has changed and I hope that they aren't treating other customers like this. read more

By far the best, most authentic Mexican restaurant in Saginaw. The service was great, the food piping hot and very flavorful. Very nice and clean. I recommend sitting at a table instead of a booth unless you're really skinny because the tables are too large for the booths. Other than that, this place is by far the best one. read more

I always love enjoying chips and salsa. The cool thing is they provide a carafe of salsa. Our food was really good. My husband got shrimp fajitas and the shrimp were big and cooked perfectly. Finest authentic Mexican food I've had in Saginaw yet. Wait times are about on par with a typical small establishment, especially when the place is jumping. Tablespace is roomy and tables are a good size, though chairs could be better. Authentic food like tamales and fried chimichangas. Very large portion sizes. Food is tasty and well seasoned.
