We own two Chevy EVs. The newest one we bought at CB Chevrolet and both have been serviced there. This dealership, under the previous owner was snooty, arrogant and completely uninterested in anyone who didn't own a Mercedes. (The other brand they sold.) So we were reluctant to use them for anything. But, friends told us that the new owners have completely changed the business. They were right! The new owners have hired a new team, re-energized the Chevy brand, and genuinely seem interested in selling and servicing Chevys and Mercedes. The new staff are professional and very personable. The purchasing experience of our new Chevy Bolt was actually a breeze and very pleasant. We've now taken both cars back to CB for service and have been completely satisfied. The Chevrolet service advisers, Enrique and Jasper, are both so knowledgeable and professional, and they treat me like I'm a really valued customer and friend. What more could I ask? I'm extremely disappointed with the way CB Chevrolet handled the warranty issue on my wife's vehicle. The tail light failed due to moisture inside the sealed housing -- a clear manufacturing defect that should be covered under GM's warranty. Instead of helping, the dealership tried to blame me by claiming there was "paint on the housing," even though I have never painted or altered the vehicle in any way. To confirm, I took the vehicle to another Chevrolet dealership, and they verified there was no paint, no pre‑existing damage, and nothing that would make me responsible. It was simply a defective part. Despite this, CB Chevrolet doubled down on their incorrect assessment and even refused to service my vehicle because I disagreed with their claim. Because of their refusal to honor the warranty, we have now been without a vehicle for almost two weeks, and we are looking at over $2,000 out of pocket just to get the issue fixed -- something that should have been covered from the beginning. What makes this even more frustrating is that my family has been buying cars from this dealership since 2019. We expected honesty, professionalism, and support as loyal customers. My vehicle was serviced at American Chevrolet in Modesto, CA for the coolant system. A leak has now recurred, requiring me to bring the car to CB Chevy, as my daughter does not live in the area. I had specifically requested that both dealerships coordinate and that the diagnostic fee be adjusted, since this problem is directly related to the work completed in December, which was reported as functioning properly and no coolant leaks noted on the invoice. During this process, I had to spend work hours on the phone,manage meetings and my daughter was carless while the car sat at the dealership, as both sides disagreed over a $249 diagnostic fee. Terrible Service Experience - Dishonest and Unprofessional I recently took my vehicle, purchased from this dealership, to the Mercedes/Chevrolet Service Department for what should have been straightforward issues: a daytime headlight replacement and grinding brakes due to worn rear brake pads and rotors. Unfortunately, this turned into a nightmare of poor communication, unjustified delays, and excessive charges. Firstly, after bringing in my vehicle, I was quoted $950 for just the rear brakes, an additional $200 for the headlight, and an additional $950 if I wanted to get the front set of brake pads and rotors replaced. I understand labor and parts come at a cost, but these prices were far out of line with other quotes I later obtained. Worse, I was informed they did not even have the necessary parts in stock, but instead of calling me, they texted to ask if they could keep my car overnight. A professional service center would have at least made a call to discuss the delay. I promptly declined their quote within 15 minutes of receiving it and requested to pick up my car. At this point, the dealership made excuses, claiming their technicians had already left for the day, despite the fact they had not closed yet, and they told me the car was taken apart. I was forced to leave my car overnight and was told I could pick it up in the morning. When I tried to call the next morning, none of my calls were answered or returned. This level of avoidance was beyond frustrating. I decided to show up in person, only to find my car parked outside, ready for pickup--so clearly, they had no reason to avoid my calls. To make things worse, I was charged almost $400 in labor costs for work that didn't justify that price. What's even more infuriating is that their service department advertises a complimentary multi-service inspection, which supposedly includes checking the brake pads and rotors. So what assessment and labor was I actually paying for? No one at the service desk could clearly explain the charges, and the breakdown of costs didn't match what was actually done. One of the biggest frustrations at Mercedes/Chevrolet Service is that you're dealing with people at a countertop desk who don't seem to know what they're talking about or how to properly explain the services to their customers. This creates a huge barrier when you try to get answers to simple questions like, "Why am I paying so much?" They clearly don't have the knowledge or experience to communicate effectively about what was done to my vehicle, leaving me feeling misled and overcharged. By contrast, when I took my car to The Tire Store in San Luis Obispo on Higuera St., I dealt directly with the technicians who worked on my vehicle, not some middleman. They were able to explain everything clearly and provided a much more transparent and trustworthy experience. They completed the actual repair of my brake pads and rotors for a price not much higher than what I had paid alone in "labor costs" at Mercedes/Chevrolet Service without any of the hassle, dishonesty, or confusion. The Tire Store got the job done in just a few hours, and they were even kind enough to accommodate me earlier than my appointment time that was on the following day. In short, avoid this dealership's service department at all costs. They are disorganized, dishonest, and clearly prioritize profits over customer satisfaction. My experience with this dealership is one that is unique, my mother was looking to trade in her older Toyota Corolla. Due to the fact I own a 2024 Chevy Malibu and I've had great experiences with the service department there through Nora Merida, I mentioned to my mother, "what about a Chevy"? She was interested, I reached out to Jorge Gallardo and Landon Anderson who are both exceptional Sales Associates who I have spoken to from time to time when I'm at the dealership getting my car serviced or looking at the extensive inventory that was on hand at CB Chevrolet/Mercedes. As such, my mother purchased a brand new 2025 Chevy Trax!!! My mother hasn't owned a new car in a very long time and what Jorge and Landon did for her that day was pretty amazing! But that's not all, the following weekend we had to go back there because the deal that Jorge and Landon put together was so good for my mother, the dealership owed her $4500!!! As as we were there chatting, Jorge and Landon were well aware I was looking at purchasing a new vehicle myself, but not from there dealership. Took my car in to get a new key fob. When we got there, we were told it would take about an hour. Seemed like a long time for a new key, but ok. After 1 1/2 hours in the waiting room we checked to see when it would be ready only to be told that the technician had not done it yet and was going to lunch. Wasted my time and changed the price once I got there for service of my 2018 GMC 3/4 Diesel truck. I called approximately a week ago and ask how much for oil/lube and tile rotation of my truck - specifying a diesel truck. I then got on their website to schedule the service and indicated on the website my VIN number, which would show a diesel truck. I called this morning to confirm the price before taking the truck in and was told right at 150.00 which does not include labor. Upon questioning the estimate in comparison to what I was quoted before, the young man checked with a service advisor and corrected the pricing to 150.00 plus tax. I arrived at my scheduled time and was told by the service advisor that was assigned to me that the price was in the 250.00 - 260.00 range. When I questioned the pricing due to being told it was 150.00 plus tax, she replied we did not know it was diesel, that was the gas price. Borjon Auto in Paso Robles is where I normally take it, but since I live in SLO this was going to be more convenient. Borjon charged 130.00-140.00 each time I had taken it to them in the past, unless there was additional work. I just called the Chevrolet dealership in Arroyo Grande and specified diesel to the young man in the service department and he confirmed 150.00 plus tax. When I told him what just happened to me at CB Chevrolet in SLO, he again confirmed 150.00 for my specific truck and with it being a diesel. My review is only about the service desk. My car was towed on the Thursday before the 4th of July. I am picking it up today, July 19th. While I understand they have only four technicians working on Chevy cars, taking this long for any repair is totally unreasonable. My biggest complaint, is not the time to have my car repaired, it is the communication; there was none. I wouldn't buy a car from this dealership again that is my take away from buying here. First their website is misleading, I had the impression you could get 0% financing and a manufacturer's rebate. When I called the dealership to confirm I was told that was indeed the case. When I started the buying process I was told it was either the financing or the other. Not both.... Second they "forced" me to Xilion coating. When I told them I didn't want it, they said they couldn't waive it because the car was already marked down too much and they had already put it on the car. The price on the car was already low, and I had just sold my car prior to showing up, so I just ate the cost. Third there finance guy tried to add a warranty to my vehicle after I had told him outright I didn't want any additional coverage on my vehicle. If I didn't read the contract before signing I would have been on the hook for an additional couple thousand dollars (don't remember the exact amount sorry). Fourth when I called to get some papers sent to me, I left multiple messages the "finance manager" only to get no reply. A couple positive takeaways I had from this experience was I managed to get a pretty decent price on the vehicle. $30690 (with that bs paint protection factored in) for a 2019 Chevy Bolt Premier. Also since the place is also a Mercedes dealership it had a certain upscale feel that made my purchase feel special. (I am aware of how silly that sounds). I bought my Chevy Equinox in 2020, I had a great experience buying my car and have had no issues with the car itself. Until the registration tags they gave me expired. When I went to renew my registration in person at the DMV, there was a suspension on my registration because Chevy SLO filed the paperwork wrong. I ended up paying a $200 fee at the DMV and going myself to Chevy SLO to pick up the paperwork (where the woman was extremely rude to me and let me wander around for 10 minutes before she helped me get the paperwork I needed) I'm still dealing with this 2 years after buying my car and still don't have the car registered correctly. When I called to tell them that the paperwork was filed wrong, no one offered to help fix it... just told me I could come pick up the paperwork. I will not buy another car from Chevy SLO. read more

So I brought my sprinter in at 7:45 and was out by 12:30. A long time for a replacement hose. I was told about an hour. I sat there in the lobby for almost five hours. Would have liked to have gotten breakfast or something. But the real issue is with the fact that they didn't put the radiator drain plug on properly after draining the fluid and it caused my to lose all fluid while on the freeway home. We were almost stranded and had to be towed. They also overfilled the oil triggering the oil indicator which caused us to have to pull over as well. I learned an expensive lesson. Do yourself a favor, find a good mechanic rather than this dealership for service. The service tech took my daughters car out for a ride to listen for a concern she hears at slower speeds. He was driving way too fast and then when someone almost hit us at a four way stop, he dropped the F-bomb! And then again during another almost incident. More specifically receptionist, Peggy and service manager, Jeff Miller were beyond exceptional! This past weekend I drove my 2017 Chevy Silverado, pulling my trailer from the Los Angeles area to Avila Beach. About 40 miles from Avila Beach my hydraulic brake vacuum pump went out in my truck. The truck limped the rest of the way to the campground. First thing in the morning I took my truck to the Alfano Motorsports Chevy dealership to have it looked at. This was based on a simple Google search, I am not familiar with this area at all. There was no question challenging the warranty. They communicated often and very effectively, even with bad news that the part was on backorder. Being a really small town and during the Christmas holiday week, my truck was going to have to stay there. The dealership treated me like I was one of them, loaning me a Chevy Silverado so I can get my trailer home. Other than Chevy producing badass trucks, This is the exact reason I have gone with a Chevrolet year after year and purchase after purchase. I had an 8:30 appointment to have the oil changed and a tire rotation in my car. What should have taken roughly 1 hour at the most, I waited for the car and it ended up taking most of the day. They did not finish with my car until 1:45 in the afternoon! All it was was an oil change and tire rotation! They didn't even wash the car like they are supposed to! Why pay a premium price for service at your auto dealership when you are treated like they could care less about your business or your time? Extremely disappointed with their service department. At Only 1000 Miles the engine gave out and now needs a New One. Happened on the worst Weekend on my daughters birthday weekend. Long story short ruined our family vacation. I was truly holding back in writing this review due to Two So called friends that work here. Not once did they follow up on the truck or the clam they supposed file for the rental that I had to pay for that weekend. It's very disappointed that I went ahead and decided to do a deal here and ignored the reviews for so Called Friends but at the end left clueless never been in a situation like this(My Fault). I have been extremely Extremely patient with this situation. Just want to put this out there as a Warning. When going into purchasing a vehicle make sure that they actually hold up on there words "We Will Take Care Of You" is what they always say. Unfortunately I wasn't and still haven't. I Understand the dealership or the person who sold it to me didn't have a take on building they engine/vehicle but they do represent the company that Did so I would expect some responsibility. There was no issue when taking my down payment (30k). But I have to wait over 3 weeks for a reimbursement of $132. The issue isn't the reimbursement but the customer service. The battery died in my 2015 Chevy Suburban while on a 6 week driving vacation. The hood could not be opened due to a previous fender bender. The gear shift and steering was locked. After a AAA serviceman failed to open the hood, Andrew of service at Alfano Motorcars Chevrolet sent me a video on how I could release it. It worked!! The car still could not be turned, but the next AAA guy was able to figure a way to roll it onto the flatbed tow truck and get it to Alfano. They also failed to open the hood, but coordinated with Vintage Auto Body across the street who got it open. Andrew organized it. He also arranged for Vintage to replace the battery at the average price of ~$200.00 rather than having them install the better he had for me at $350.00. Alfano did not charge me anything! Bought a used factory certified 2011 E350 about two years ago. Being factory certified it came with a 1 year warranty. We also bought an additional 2 years of warranty for $2500 which I rarely do because I do car work myself and I also know a trusted mechanic. However, I was led to believe that Mercedes are extremely expensive to work on, which they are IF you take your car to a dealer! On a trip home to SLO from Tahoe the check engine light came on. It stayed on all the home. I took the car to Alfano figuring our warranty would cover the problem. The problem was simple, the air cleaner clip came off the back of the air cleaner and the engine was running lean. The mechanic took the air cleaner off and reinstalled it, cleared the check engine light and we were ready to go. However, the service manager expected $200 for them using the diagnostic tool which he said was not covered under our warranty, and implied that I caused the problem, which I did not since I never touched the air cleaner. They also claimed their computer was down and they could not tell if our car was still under warranty. Frustrated, I paid the $200 to get my car back and left. If I have another problem I will not be back to Alfano, warranty or no I would rather have the work done somewhere else. read more

I really enjoyed the San Luis Obispo, CA area. I was visiting the beaches and decided to take a look at a car at a Mercedes Benz dealership. I set up an appointment with Jon, who is not your typical car salesman. He genuinely new a lot about cars in general and not just the brand of cars he was selling. This was important since I love cars and know a lot about cars. Jon and the the Management team at Alfano were really good and impressive. I settled on in purchasing a car. After purchasing the car, I realized the car was not necessarily ready for me to drive off with. The next day, Jon himself drove the car to my house in the Bay Area. Talk about customer service. I have to say that most car salesmen are not honest and just want to flip a car. I do get this but you also have to put care into what you sell and how you sell it because it will have good or negative ramifications with your customer which can benefit you in the future. Worst costumer service, they never get back to you. You don't get transferred to the right department or even have them pick up the phone. My truck has been at the shop for a month now and no feed back on what's going on or when it will be ready. They have only provided a five day loaner car. This dealership is one of the worst in the central coast. read more
